When my 6 year old Hotpoint went wrong and was beyond repair, my insurance gave a list of replacements (all Whirlpool group products). I chose the Whirlpool W7FHS51XUK Dishwasher. It is actually the worst dishwasher ive owned. Firstly its a badged up Hotpoint but £250 dearer, as it has a Whirlpool badge. Its flimsy and poorly built. The touch buttons are not very sensitive and you have jab jab jab at them to get them to work.It really doesn't clean very well often leaving items like cups or saucepans still with stains or food stuck to it. Ive changed the dishwasher tablets but only ever buy branded and its made no difference. Dont bother using the half load function, as dishes are even dirtier than a normal wash.The worst aspect is how wet stuff is, once its finished and its supposed to have dried. (Tried changing the settings, salt, extra dry function , rinse aid but its made no difference) Ive only had it 2 months and I really dont like it as i find it an awful machine. ***Update*** Whirlpool asked for additional details and made a telephone call which was appreciated. Person i spoke to was lovely. They offered to send an engineer to discuss usage and going through the instructions with me, which I declined. Ive read the instructions throughly and im not doing anything wrong, ive just got to accept it is what it is (i.e not very good). However if service is required in future, hopefully it will be excellent. Ive amended my rating from 1 to 3 stars based on this call.

Received an info request from Jacob , who called within an hour to understand the problem and immediately arranged an engineer for today and noted the issues with the call centre
Arranged a repair on line which fair play was rearranged to an earlier date
Hotpoint engineer came , washing machine fixed , next day machine fails again , on line repair booked with a 5 day wait , called a number given to us by D&G to see if we could get it earlier as it’s not been resolved satisfactorily, call centre in India reading off a crib sheet , no interest in being able to help or put us in touch with someone who can , so have to wait 5 days unless there’s a cancellation
Absolutely zero customer service, book on line or speak to a robot isn’t acceptable when it’s not been sorted , paid enough for insurance expect better

We had a whirlpool like this an older model that a repairer damaged and this was the replacement. Its rubbish.
1 the cheap touch display is slow and as it isnt back lit almost impossible to see where to touch it. Designer? What designer a ten year old?
2 The menu is so complex that after a long time of using it we still cant find our way around it (and no I am not some technophobe) Trying to cook fish fingers requires 14 press button selection if you get it right every time. Don't whatever you do get drawn in by the feature list they are so inaccessible as to be irrelevant and honestly do not think you will learn it. The rubbish pictogram manual demonstrates nothing. Never ever again!

Easy online booking self service system. Regular contact by repair centre by text offering earlier appointment times when they became available. Notification of appointment time became more precise on day before and then notice of imminent arrival on the day. Engineer arrived promptly and repair completed quickly. Excellent overall experience.

We were getting refurbishment work done in the kitchen. When we removed the dishwasher we noticed the hose was damaged but not burst and needed replaced. Contacted Whirlpool who arranged an engineer to attend to replace it.
