They've run out of whisky. Used to be great, I'd invested a lot of money with them. Now they just simply don't have the stock to warrant bothering with it. Last couple of times I pre ordered stock, the most I was allowed to purchase amounted to no more than a couple hundred pounds.

This two-way trading proves the value of our platform by enabling users to sell and profit from their maturing whisky and demonstrates to the Scotch industry that we are an excellent and reliable source of wholesale priced maturing spirit.
We have covered in recent whisky news articles (https://www.whiskyinvestdirect.com/whisky-news/latest-whisky-news) that the wholesale Scotch whisky market has tightened, and distillers are unable to quickly increase their production to meet potential future demand. This means that although we will purchase over 1.5m LPA this year we are unlikely to be able to source additional new fillings before the end of the year and the number of bulk trade bids from the industry are unlikely to slow in the short term.
As you would expect, we are doing all that we can to secure additional maturing whisky for this year whilst working with distillers to increase our supply for subsequent years.

Great Platform and Easy To Use
This is a great little website for buying whisky in small increments, which is useful for those who can't afford to buy entire casks. The service is easy to use and availability of whisky has improved alot recently. I think the fees are reasonable and my returns have been very good. I would reccomend this website for anyone looking to diversify their portfolio and get some decent ROI.
Only suggestion I would have is that the website needs an update as it looks like it was designed in the 2000's and an Android/Iphone App would be great addition.

Additionally, WhiskyInvestDirect offers a very different investment opportunity to cask investment schemes. WhiskyInvestDirect enables you to buy and sell maturing Scotch at wholesale prices. That’s because the Scotch industry also uses this platform to trade large volumes of maturing spirit, still in the barrel. Alternative investment
I've been investing with WhiskyInvestDirect more or less since it started. The concept may be a little difficult to understand if you are a less experienced investor. Also it takes patience because time is the very essence of the product. I am now beginning to see my patience repaid as my whisky holdings mature and are purchased by trade buyers so I am very pleased. Potential investors need to be aware that WhiskyInvestDirect is the main source of whisky to buy and only WhiskyInvestDirect can negotiate sales with trade buyers. In my experience they deal absolutely fairly with all parties and can be trusted.

I found this website by luck and I am happy. I did have only buy stuff this week so to early to talk about profits or lost like anything there is always a risk.

Excellent trading platform for this…
Excellent trading platform for this alternative investment class. I’ve been an investor since January 2016 and have been impressed with the returns. Obviously, like all investing your money it is at risk - the price of whisky could go down. And as an asset class it’s very small niche. You would want a very diversified portfolio before adding whisky. Some might question the ethics of investing in alcohol. However, having once lived in the highlands of Scotland I know the jobs and income and tourism this industry provides for the local area and I’m happy to support.

I echo many recent posts - five star service but no whisky. To add injury to insult, when accepting a BTB we are give a month to re-purchase at reduced commission - but there is never enough whisky to buy.
This offer is therefore meaningless as nobody can take advantage of it.
