No show, No contact, NO SALE!

I arranged a home visit to design my new kitchen on-line and received a confirmation email. The appointment was for 14:30-15:30. At 11:10am I received an email saying how nice it was to meet me. 2:30 came around and no-one showed, I thought maybe he was running late, not a problem. Then it got to 3pm and still no-one, I thought maybe the email meant he could arrive between 2:30 and 3:30, still no major problem. By 4:30 there still no-one and even worse, no communication from the company at all. I tried to contact them and was sent around the houses and was left feeling a tad peeved. My whole afternoon had been wasted. Today I received an email saying this: thank you for attending an appointment with us

2.5 years of delays

2.5 years of delays, broken promises and a newborn living on a building site

In March 2022 we purchased a kitchen and bathroom installation from Wickes (£13,856). What followed has been over two and a half years of delays, defective installation, repeated damage to our home and broken promises.

The installation was carried out by subcontractors presented to us as Wickes installers. In reality they arrived without uniforms, identification, or coordination and repeatedly asked us how the work should be done. Each attempt to repair the installation resulted in further damage to our property.

During the delays the store manager promised us £50 per day compensation for the delay. Later Wickes customer service refused to honour this agreement.

The situation became far worse when our daughter was born in March 2023. My wife went through an entire pregnancy while the house was effectively a construction site. We were forced to live with a newborn in unsafe and stressful conditions while Wickes repeatedly failed to complete or repair the installation.

After multiple failed repair attempts and extensive disruption to our work and family life, Wickes then directed us to the Furniture and Home Improvement Ombudsman. The process resulted in minimal compensation which does not reflect the scale of disruption, time off work, and damage caused.

Recently I visited the Wickes store in Romford and spoke to the current store manager. He stated that the issue is not his responsibility because it happened before he took over and that he is unwilling to get involved.

After more than two years of delays, broken commitments and living in a construction site with a newborn, we are still trying to obtain a fair resolution.

I am now requesting that Wickes senior management review this case directly

Went to Wickes Chadwell Heath Romford…

Went to Wickes Chadwell Heath Romford to buy Dulux emulsion paint but couldn’t find the colour, Amanda F checked stock level and then searched the shelves and found the colour that had been put in the wrong place-probably by a customer. Extremely helpful. Shame Wickes only sold 5ltr tins by delivery thus incurring extra charge.

I would give a minus rating if I could

I would give a minus rating if I could. Booked an appointment for 12:30pm for a bathroom design consult home visit arranged time off work and no one turned up. I called the store t 12:40pm the guy asked me who I had the appointment with I told him Asif Patel, the guy said he is currently with a customer and he will check and call me back in 5 mints. No one called back I called again at 13:00 and was told it was due to system error no one turned up and when I said I was told someone will call me back he denied saying no one said they will call me back in 5 mints. I asked them to listen to the call recording. Completely unacceptable service.

Poor service at the Chadwell Heath…

Poor service at the Chadwell Heath branch.

The appointment was arranged for 2:00pm. When no one arrived, I contacted the design studio and was told that Jamil was due to attend. I was then informed that someone else, Lily, would be attending instead. Unfortunately, no one turned up at all.

As a result, an entire day was wasted waiting at the property. This was particularly inconvenient as we do not live in East London and had made specific arrangements to be there for this appointment.

The lack of communication and failure to attend the agreed appointment is unacceptable. I would appreciate an explanation for what went wrong and confirmation of what steps Wickes will take to ensure this does not happen again. I would also expect appropriate compensation for the time and inconvenience caused.

Bought 2 kitchens here for my extentions, Jamil was amazing at supporting with my order and answering all my questions. Jamil was great at making suggestion for the design and layout.

Wickes Chadwell Heath are amazing!!!

I cannot recommend the Wickes Chadwell Heath team enough.
Everyone has been more than happy to help and assist us every step of the journey of our new kitchen.
Chahrazade has been amazing designing our kitchen. Visited twice to make sure everything was ready for the installation.
Any questions or concerns we had, she would go over and beyond to assure us.
Massive thanks to Asif Patel, who was always available to help us with anything.
Truly fantastic experience, and kitchen looks amazing!

Spent £16.000 on a new bathroom &…

Spent £16.000 on a new bathroom & six months later had a leak which flooded the bathroom. The plumber that I paid £380 said it was a cheap connector that caused it. Wickes refused to pay a penny!

If I never had a new bathroom fitted this leak would not of happened. I had to call out an emergency plumber. Not what you expect after six months.

Was going to get my kitchen from them but will go elsewhere. That would have been more than my bathroom so they have lost that.

Do not use them!

They Confirmed My Appointment… Then No One Was There!

I booked an appointment with a Wickes design consultant through their website, received confirmation, and attended the appointment as scheduled. When I arrived, there was no one there to assist me. I was then told that the person I booked with doesn’t even work on Fridays – the exact day the appointment system allowed me to choose.

When I raised this issue with the store manager, he showed no real concern and seemed completely unbothered by the situation. No apology, no attempt to offer a solution – just a dismissive attitude and terrible customer service.

What made it even worse was receiving an automated email afterwards thanking me for attending my appointment and asking how it went. Clearly their system has no idea what actually happens in-store, and there is zero communication across their team.

This was a complete waste of my time and has really put me off using Wickes for any future projects. If their booking system and customer service can’t be trusted at this basic stage, I dread to think what the rest of the process would be like.

Wickes Chadwell Heath is my favourite go to place at the moment. The staff are very friendly & knowledgeable and it’s a great place to buy quality products for the home for excellent price, rather than the extortionate prices other DIY companies charge. I will highly recommend everyone to visit.

Kitchen Flooring

I recently bought flooring for my kitchen and was served by Asif. He was very polite & friendly and advised on the different types of flooring available and which would be best for my needs.
He was also kind enough to take my goods to the till and assist in taking them to the car which is what makes a store stand out from the rest.

Will definitely be using Wickes Chadwell Heath again, highly recommend.

Kitchen Design and Installation

I made an appointment for a kitchen design and they had availability within a few hours which was great. I was fortunate to have Chahrazade as my designer and all I can say is, she did not disappoint. She completely redesigned my kitchen by changing the entire layout. As my kitchen isn't very big, she maximised the use of space and recommended clever storage solutions. All in all, she was very practical in her approach while not compromising aesthetics.
Chahrazade also helped with the flooring in the kitchen and suggested which would be best with the kitchen suite chosen.

Definitely recommend the team at Wickes Chadwell Heath for your next kitchen or bathroom design and installation.
