Poor customer experience

We went into the aquarium to buy some frozen food for tropical frogs yesterday. The assistant who came to help us, was obviously quite new and very polite however, he asked one of his colleagues to help him as he wanted to provide us with the appropriate products, and his colleague was miserable, not very helpful and in our opinion did not mentor the new employee at all well and probably made him feel awkward. We felt embarrassed for him and would completely understand if he felt this was not a professional or nice environment to work in. Good luck to him, he will need it.

Catch up with friends

My friends and I met in the restaurant for a much awaited catch up. We ordered the club sandwich and a jacket potato. The club sandwich arrived and was promptly returned as the sandwich did not include all contents advertised in menu. Bread was very dry and hard. It was deemed inedible. Tuna mayonnaise jacket potato was cold. No mayonnaise and a salad composing of a lettuce leaf and a tomato. We all agreed the food was awful and we will not be returning for our next catch up. Very disappointing.

The restraint food was awful.

The restraint food was awful.! And not the first time. Jacket potato was barely warm. Tiny portion of salad.
Three of us left our jacket potato's.
Would not go again.

!!!No easy excess or better say none for disabled people!!!

Today I went to Wyevale garden centre in Ramsgate to buy some fish. First problem I came across was getting to the disabled bay parking with my van and had to follow the arrows on the road only to find at the end vehicles blocking the road to get to the car wash plant, had to reverse all the way back due to one way system and cars parked. When I got to the parking disabled bays I have chosen to get close as possible to the entrance as you do.
There is ramp but no hand rail I was forced with someone else's help needed to walk down the slop what put me in severe pains and uncomforted distress with the risk of falling not holding my balance very well and the chance of passing out .
I need always someone around me in case something could happen like the situation I got into it due to companies on purpose ignoring people like me being severe disabled and severe chronic ill.
To get to the fish shop what is half way down the whole ground you have to walk in a U what is very long walk what I cannot do. It is right next to the entrance out what is half way down the ground. On the way down I asked a shop assistant about that problem but listening to her it sounded they been told to say due to Covid-19 it is one way in and out but that is a lot of rubbish because it was like that before Covid-19 like that already. I also was told not supposed to happen the doors only can be opened only from one site and that backs up the theory it has nothing to do with Covid-19 at all just a convenient excuse like lots of businesses seem to use for their failures.
On the way out the second entrance comes another problem. Almost straight ahead you have steep steps to overcome or far left what is a hell of a distance to get you find a ramp path what is designed for transport of goods and a long way back to the carpark and then still the long distance to walk to the other entrance where I parked.
It makes no difference which entrance you park the problem is the same and Telling the shop assistant how difficult it is for people like myself and the pains I am in and not even sure I can manage back it just been ignored, possible put her in a difficult position.
Could not find any signs where is IN or OUT even to find the toilets and most of the times they are in a bad state. They only seams getting cleaned as little as possible papers on the floor, wet floors and unblessed smells. Bins not emptied and the whole thing looks like saving on cleaning staff as specially needed in Covid -19 times. The two urinals one of the two was blocked due to distances ruling and the only other one was so badly dirty with urine and floor you could have picked up anything from that. As a disabled person it was not possible to use it at all. I found the size of the ground to conker find no benches or any seating areas only the coffee shop where you need to pay to eat. Same in there One way in and one way out what I do understand but it is the distance how far apart and to get to the excess out. In the past they had a different excess arrangement when the shop done much better and now it has become disabled unfriendly and policies for disabled avoided. Cannot understand how they got away so long.
I also found you can only get a shopping trolley on the way in and if you decided once you in you have to walk a full circle to get one and start again. I found the carpark looks rundown and littered. You would thought being a garden enter they would put plants in the flower beds not just having high weeds. I found in the aquarium shop it has so much stuff like boxes standing around to make it very difficult for a disabled person to wonder around and for a wheel chair quite impossible. Between the fish tanks you have structural uprights in the middle of the walkway with little light and I am quite a big person with a walking stick had to struggle and with two sticks you need to walk sideways what I cannot do. You cannot keep distance between each other in those isles and dead end, you basically would brush on each other when passing each other. I had real problems with the poor lighting provided to read and my vision played tricks on me.
Sadly the garden centre is totally disabled unfriendly!
Before I forget, when you think what the place was once. It was always pricy to make up on the plats could been dying to return and the coffee shop was always expensive for what it had to offer. Now it starts to look like a rundown warehouse with a portion wall with lots of boxes and garden furniture behind with no door in front what could be dangerous for run around kids. The out side been overrun by sheds and plastic ornaments to avoid to water cost and staff to maintain them and a horrible car wash on the bottom left. Not sure why inside by the entrance was a scraped car standing what could be an unfinish project and if so it should been enclosed until it is finish. Just looks like a mess. In the summer full of dying plants and lying bushes. MESS!

Aggressive and intentionally intimidating staff

Swansea/dobbies store
I observed rude aggressive and intimidating behaviour towards the chap in front of me in the queue, there was no need for it , absolutely disgusting, the staff member used his enormous belly and size to push the poor chap out of the store, the bully boy staff member had no face mask on and was literally in his face saying "let's go then if your hard enough" all because the chap didn't want nor did he need a trolley , all customers are forced to take a trolley for some reason even if a trolley is not needed, this cannot be the best practice for infection control during these times!, no regards for infection control or social distancing whatsoever, that behaviour at a garden center isn't acceptable, I even stood to the side while the manager came out and he didnt seem bothered at all, never going back again

soft play in silence

I have taken my children to these garden centres for the last 5 years. Today I caught three members of staff moaning about my children and their friends screaming in the soft play area. According to one member of staff “not all children scream”.....meaning neither should mine.... so we will never return again. Do not take your children if they scream, the staff can’t handle it.

Roma Gazebo

This review relates to the purchase of an expensive Gazebo over 18 months ago, which has failed in use recently.Although I realised that the whole thing was out of the guarantee period, it was only the canopy that failed and I was looking to WGC to tell me where I could buy a replacement, either from them or online direct from their supplier. Every avoidance was taken to limit my problem and no apology was forthcoming. Dreadful Company - DO NOT SHOP WITH THEM AT ALL

Had written five stars; reduced to one

Had written five stars, as WD agreed to replace broken item straight away. However, the issue has been getting the replacement. Delivery company do not send a time or two hour window, so have now been in all day (it’s 1) waiting for a delivery which may never come. This is the second attempt. If this fails I’ll ask for a refund. Customer services (phoned three times) useless.

Less than a year ago

Less than a year ago, I purchased some garden furniture from Wyevale. It stated and is sold as having a two year guarantee but sadly this is not the case. The furniture is in a rattan finish and now has a stripped effect. It was left outside as per the instructions and in the shade. Having complained to Wyevale, they contacted the manufacturer, who claim it is not a fault, does that mean they expect their furniture to completely change appearance in less than a year? As it was purchased from a Wyevale centre , I have asked them what can be done, unfortunately they choose not to reply to me. I would suggest that you do not buy from them if you’re expecting a guarantee, as it is obviously worthless.

Wyevale Playhatch Henley Road

Staff miserable and keenly unhelpful. Bought plants and asked to collect the next day, Pete the server offered the only option would be to leave inside the sweltering hot area by tills. When requested to take outside for the night Pete had to call the manager Jackie who proceeded to go into dialogue that she couldnt guarantee the sun wouldn't go on the plants (really!) and made a simple request into an uncomfortable encounter.
Wyevale please give your staff some training on customer service and empower them to be helpful.

Let down by hartmann and delivery Co

I have had a poor experience with delivery of some Hartman furniture. In defence of Wyevale they are merely a third party handler. Was well looked after by customer services and hasn’t put me off buying from Wyevale again. One thing to note and I am sure you are all savvy shoppers, don’t ever pay full price for furniture, bbq etc. It always comes down in price twice post Easter, by 1st week of June they stabilise their pricing

Specifically Potters Bar Store and a…

Wyevale Potters Bar Store and a gentleman named Andy.
I visited the store looking for plants for my new border. I had my little girl asleep in her pram at the time.
I have no idea about gardening, but knew I wanted climbers to screen the back fence. I asked Andy for some advice and well... basically he spent almost an hour taking me through all the options and showing me what stock they had with complete impartial advice even suggesting another nursery down the road that might have a better range of one particular plant.
He saw that I had the pram and offered to get a trolley for me to help load up what I decided to take, he took it all to the till for me and even out to my car. Whilst I was putting my little one in the car he started loading the car for me too!!! Absolutely first class employee and experience, highly recommended from me.

They served me half a mushroom

The plants are nice and well kept but the breakfast served in the resteraunt is terrible. At the cost of nearly £6 (after discount) as a vegan, i got :half a tomato half a mushroom, one hash brown, a small pot of baked beans and two slices of bread. When i later rang up customer services they apologised and said i should have had a full mushroom. NEVER HAS ANY EATING ESTABLISHMENT EVER SERVED ME HALF A MUSHROOM. MEAN OR WHAT.

Wyevale do not cater for anyone with a…

Wyevale do not cater for anyone with a disability. My very frail mother bought a garden chair and table set from them which required assemble, they refused to assemble the table even though she is now widowed and paralysed done one side. I therefore did the round trip of an hour to assemble the table for her only to find it was faulty and could not be assembled. Wyevale use an external courtier firm therefore they basically have no control over them not do they offer any type of customer service. I spoke to a child at customer services who sounded so insincere it was insulting. They expect my disabled mother to put everything back together for collection of the set, which I have instructed them to collect for a refund and we will take our business elsewhere.
