Avoid at all costs

This company don't answer the phone so you have to email them. They also don't reply by email and call you back instead. this way, they avoid a paper trail so you have no real proof of their incompetance.

They also underpay the boat owners, so you have to pay extra on arrival or you don'ty get the boat.

Lies about TrustPilot score, terrible customer service, and they take no responsibility for their boats or crew

We chartered a catamaran in Olbia. Yachtico should have sent us the boarding pass 10 days before boarding, which did not happen. After many emails and phone calls, some of them ignored, we finally received the boarding pass two days before boarding, which was incredibly stressful. At some point we even wondered if we had been scammed. Judging by how Yachtico lies about their TrustPilot score on their website, I do feel like they are indeed a scam company.

On board, the generator broke down on the third day, which meant that the watermaker, air conditioning, and power plugs did not work. By far the worst offender, however, was our captain, who was incredibly rude and lazy. He came up with excuses for not taking us to the places we wanted to go to, and only opened the sail a single time the whole week, and even then, only one of the sails, saying that it was "too much work" to open the sails. He was always moody and sometimes berated us, namely the women, including our hostess. On the last day he rudely kicked us out of the boat 5 mins past the check-out time, and even used a water hose to expel one of the guests by spraying water. The list goes on.

We tried contacting Yachtico many times via phone and email after the trip, but they never followed-up. Yachtico takes no responsibility for their boats and crew.

Terrible chartering experience!

Terrible chartering experience!

Yachtico's ONLY responsibility is to connect their customers with a reliable, safe, and ethical charter company. Yachtico failed to provide this for our vacation.

We experienced several maintenance issue with our charter including:
- non-functional mainsail
- leaking hatches (bedding got soaked and we had to go to the laundromat)
- clogged holding tank (boat smelled like a sewer for 2 days)
- clogged kitchen sink

Yachtico deflected all responsibility, claiming that these issues fall solely on the charter operator. We received no compensation despite all of these issues. Yachtico even tried to blame us for the issues (they claimed I'm an inexperienced captain despite having 15+ years of boating experience).

The charter operator didn't return our 3000-euro deposit. We have had to file a police report with the Italian consulate and open a dispute with the credit card company to get our deposit back. Yachtico was not helpful in this process.

When you book through Yachtico, you don't have the option to perform your own due diligence with the charter operator. You shouldn't have to because you are paying Yachtico to provide this service (it's really the only thing you're paying them for). I'm struggling to understand what service Yachtico provided for our group.

I can't imagine how this experience could have been any worse.

Yachtico: Bait & Switch

I booked a 4-Cabin Nautitech (Pina Colada) in September 2023. 10 days prior to my April 6, 2024 charter Yachtico told me Pina Colada had been damaged in a prior charter and they had to substitute a 3-Cabin Lagoon. Upon arrival at the marina the charter operator told me the Lagoon had been booked back in September 2023 under my name. Pina Colada was in the marina, undamaged and available for charter! This was a unethical Bait & Switch! Do not trust or charter with Yachtico. I also paid $125 for extra towels, and the charter company told me they did not get this order, and were not paid by Yachtico to support this request.

1. You had a great charter week with no complains from your end during your charter.
2. The CATAMARAN (complementary upgrade) you enjoyed was
- YOUNGER
- RECENTLY REFITTED
- BETTER EQUIPPED
- in better shape
- MORE SPACIOUS for the COMPFORT of you and your guest.

3. If you think you paid for extras in advance and had to pay a small amount on spot again, please provide documentation and we are happy to refund you.

Please re-consider your 1star review as we are feel this review is quite unfairly for the great charter experience you enjoyed.

Was charged double for extras, no sufficient refund, no service - AVOID

Paid for extras online (dinghy, outboarder, obligatory cleaning).

When arriving at the base in Corfu Greece, charter company asked to pay the extras again on site, with the promise of a refund afterward.

Here, we noticed that the dinghy was included with the charter (so they charged us online which was not necessary) and we *did not get the full refund of all the extras we paid double*.

After 10+ calls with customer service (they never pick up, you can only leave a voice mail). And after 20+ emails, they still refused to believe I paid double (even though I have all the receipts and everything). They now don't answer my mails, nor return my phone calls. This is theft. And the worst experience I've ever had with a booking agency.

In total I paid:
€292 + €220 = €512
If I had only paid the charter company it would be €220, if I had only paid Yachtico I paid €292. I paid both. It's not about the money, it's about the principle.

EDIT:
The answer from Yachtico 100% confirms how "customer friendly" they are. Always blaming the customer, not looking for solutions, not even willing to do the maths and calculate that the refund (€100) was not sufficient. Only after 10 phone calls and unhelpful staff I became (admittedly) inpatient, how would you be? I have never "blackmailed" to leave a bad review. I know that doesn't help since I've worked in CS for years. I leave a bad review because I don't want anyone else to have to same **** experience and after 3 months I give up.

Thank you for confirming what I already knew.
For everyone else: AVOID THIS COMPANY

A. We are 100% transparent. All prices are on our website and clearly disclosed during your booking process. You agreed to it. You paid exactly the price agreed. Please check your booking confirmation.

B. You are claiming that you would have paid a different price for extras when you would have booked locally in the Marina. --> It's not uncommon to pay a different price on Amazon compared with in the local shop on spot.

CHARTERERS BEWARE

We chartered a Sun Odyssey 33i through Yachtico for a one week holiday around Skopelos, yacht being supplied by Sail Aegean in September 2019. When booking through Yachtico we paid a £175 full insurance and was then charged a 2,000 Euro refundable deposit on collection of the yacht by Sail Aegean. On the 4th day when anchoring in shallow water in a secluded bay the windlass unexpectedly and dangerously went into freefall and detached from it's bolts. We had to make our own passage back to an emergency mooring at Skopelos town, awaiting a new windlass and repairs. This took two days of our seven day holiday. On completion of the charter a diver examined the underneath of the boat and we were informed that the bush on the propshaft had been dislodged and we would be responsible for the repair. None of our 2000 Euro deposit would be returned until after repairs. Conveniently the repairs total 2000 Euro and no refund has appeared. Photographic evidence of the windlass and corroded bolts have been supplied and endless email exchanges. We do not believe either of these supposed "Damages" are our fault but neither Yachtico or Sail Aegean are prepared to refund our deposits or make claim against supposed "Full Insurance". Sadly, a credit card was not used to pay our deposit to Sail Aegean. Both companies have profited and cheated from us.Our patience is now exhausted. Keep away from both.
The Windlass went into freefall of it's own accord, you have the photographic evidence. We have no pre charter pictures of under the yacht. I am returning the Boarding pass and booking reference stating there was yacht insurance. 29/01/20

As you know you caused a boat damage during your vacation. Following industry standards and as clearly lined out in our T&C and in the booking confirmation your deposit of 2000 EUR is your maximum liability. What exceeds this amount is covered by the yacht insurance.

The local charter company has shared extensive photo and video documentation about the damages along with the repair invoices.

You have not booked a GBP 175 additional deposit insurance with Yachtico. If you think so, please provide the documentation and I am happy to review it and claim the deposit from the insurance company.

We worked hardly on your behalf and did our best to support you in this dispute with the local charter company. Unfortunately we couldn't achieve more for you.

REALLY BAD ! Boat was totally unusable when we showed up! We tried again 3days later they said all fixed they put in a 12 volt small fridge and had the engine working also the generator wasn’t operable we again rejected the boat. We received no support from Yachtico or M3 and are out our entire charter fee . Beware all

I made an enquiry last week with…

I made an enquiry last week with Yachtico who were very slow to get back to me. I enquired because their Trustpilot rating was a strong 8.1. Later when I actually went to get a review, it turns out there it's only 5.9 and the review form Bob looks fake to be honest.

I fail to see how a reputable company cannot keep it's reviews up to date.

made my holiday a fantastic experience, but the weather was very mixed up...

We chartered a catamaran in Croatia. Booked online, went smoothly. Trustworthy communication. Very nice lady on customer service;) The catamaran was 6 years old but didn't look like. We enjoyed the time, especially the last evening in Split. We had a fantastic week. I am looking forward to my next year holiday, maybe Ionic islands in Greece.
