Zafiro Majorca C'an Picafort
Zafiro Majorca, C'an Picafort' Excellent family hotel. All staff including cleaning staff, restaurant staff, reception staff, maintenance staff, ground's staff, entertainment organisers and fitness programmes staff, give excellent, polite, friendly, assistance. Nice quiet location.
10 Years and still going strong
I am not sure when we turned into a couple that keeps going back to the same hotel year after year, but here were are 10 years and still the Zarifro Palace still impresses us. The cleaning and quality is absolutely brilliant, the food and drink quality is amazing and the staff are fantastic. We cannot fault the hotel and the brand (having stayed in other hotels within the brand) never fails to impress and we will be back!!
Honest review
Honest review! I stayed at this hotel with my daughter and friend after reading so many glowing reviews about the food and how child-friendly it was supposed to be. Sadly, our experience was very disappointing.
Food:
While there was plenty of variety for adults, the food was not child-friendly. My child barely ate because the only consistent options were chips, pizza, rice, or spaghetti bolognese. For picky eaters, this is a real struggle. On top of that, much of the food was only lukewarm instead of piping hot, which is unacceptable — especially with meat — and raises serious food safety concerns. Desserts for children were also lacking, with very few options like cakes or kid-friendly sweets.
Pool:
The pool looked fine online but in reality, it was far too small for the number of guests. Even worse, it felt unsafe. People were constantly throwing balls across the pool in every direction, which was incredibly inconsiderate and dangerous — especially for babies, young children, or pregnant women. My child was too scared to swim because of the chaos, and I ended up with an eye infection from the pool that required a doctor’s visit and antibiotics. There should be clear rules in place, such as limiting ball games to one side of the pool, so other guests can enjoy a safe, relaxing swim.
Rooms:
The rooms were fairly good in size but very dated. The second bed provided for my child was uncomfortable — more like a prison bed than a proper hotel bed.
Cleanliness:
The overall cleanliness was below standard. The stairs were badly stained and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years, which left the hotel feeling neglected.
Positives:
The staff were friendly, and the adult food (when hot) tasted nice.
Overall:
This hotel was a massive disappointment. Between the unsafe pool, lukewarm food, lack of proper child-friendly meals, dated rooms, and poor cleanliness, it did not live up to the glowing reviews we read beforehand. We will not be returning. If I could give it 0/10, I would.

Stayed in the Zafiro Palmanova for a week with my husband and two children. We really enjoyed our stay, hotel was clean and had great facilities. Food was good and staff were friendly. Evening entertainment was lots of fun. We would return to this hotel if we visited the area again.
Exceptional Service & Standard
Staying at the Zafiro Hotel in Palma Nova. Hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food selection is superb - fresh meat and fish selection every lunch and evening meal. Staying all inclusive and definitely 5* - will book again.
Zafiro Palmanova
We were staying in Zafiro Palmanova for 6 nights.
Staff are welcoming and very friendly and always helpful.
The rooms are good, our issue was the housekeeping cleanliness was not up to 4* standards.
Our daughter (4) enjoyed the stay so much! She had lots of fun in the pools during day m and the events during evening are entertaining even for adults.
The food selection is alright, but a bit pricey, but the dinner buffet is great, we were staying for dinner in the hotel as the food variety was great.
However the cocktails and Sangria was not so enjoyable as it felt like watered.
The entertainment team (Olah Senoritas!) did and doing still a wonderful job, they are clearly focusing on the kids to have great fun!
Generally disappointing stay
Generally disappointing stay. The place did not live up to what we saw on the website.
The morning buffet was actually okay, not the best I have tried, not the worst. The juice was really bad.
At the lunch bar we ordered a burger and nuggets. Burger was absolute trash. Let’s say we did not return for lunch the following days, and did not try the dinner restaurant….
The room was overall outdated and needed restoration to match the price.
It seemed all the rooms with swim up pool where in the shadow most of the day, which made the pool unusable at this time of the year.
On day 2 of our stay our AirPods where stolen from our room, and the staff was not helpful solving this, and it sounded like it was a reaccuring problem they have.
And lastly they messed up our checkout time, they told us checkout was at 14:00 due to booking directly through their own site, but at 12:00 our room key did not work, and they told us it was our mistake that we had not booked late check out…
Zafiro Hotel Santa Ponsa, Mallorca
A fantastic hotel that is clean and tidy, with great staff. The food was outstanding with a good choice and fabulous quality.
The sport and fitness staff were extremely hard working and great guys with a fun sense of humour.
A really lovely place to stay that is within walking distance of the beautiful clean beach and local shops. Couldn't ask for more. Would recommend and definitely go back.

My experience at the Hotel Zafira Calla Mesquida from June 12 to 15 was very bad.
I booked my room not on Booking but on the hotel's own website.
At no stage in the booking process was I advised that I was booking a room not in the main hotel which is in fact a 4* hotel, but rather my booking was being made in a 3* apartment block which is located across the road from the 4* hotel.
Simulating the same booking on Booking the situation is similar, not even on Booking are we warned that the booking is in the 3* apartment block.
My initial 3* room in the apartment block was in terrible condition.
In other words, the 4-star hotel is using its main website, even on Booking, to sell 3-star apartments, so in my opinion this is cheating guests.

Recently returned from a family holiday at Zafiro Palace in Alcudia Majorca with two young children. We had the best time possible! The resort was impeccably clean and the staff were so polite and welcoming. The hotel is very family friendly. The food was delicious with so much choice! The pools are amazing and very well maintained with plenty of options for children and adults alike. The entertainment was great fun and the children thoroughly enjoyed it! Our room was great, very comfortable and plenty of space for the four of us. Overall we had an amazing time and we will definitely be back!

On arrival we found the room very basic…
It was our first family holiday abroad. On arrival at Zafiro Can Picafort We found the room very basic for what we paid for. Very uncomfortable sofa pull out bed. And black hair in the shower plug. We found some of the staff working there very rude! And arrogant. We were all inclusive plus. I asked for two drinks for me and my partner and another two drinks for my two kids. They wouldn’t give me the two drinks for my two kids who were at the pool with their dad. He said I had to bring my kids to the bar to get their drinks and only two drinks per person. I did go to reception to complain about this. They said that’s their policy and it depends which staff member who’s serve you!! I found the pools and restaurants lovely. But staff and rooms not so good. We did love visiting the lovely beach restaurants at can picafort is a lovely place to visit and we did have a lovely holiday.

If you have children who are early risers like mine do not book this hotel! Pools open at 10AM!!! Trying to keep the kids entertained for 4 hours when they can see the pool is extremely hard!
Zafiro Can Picafort
After our recent stay in their Can Picafort resort I felt compelled to write the following to the director:
Dear Sirs
I am writing to you to express our disappointment of our recent stay with your hotel at Can Picafort.
We booked 3 penthouse apartments and on arrival found the rooms to be extremely tired and dated and certainly not as nice as the images on your website led us to believe. Also it was clear that the communal areas in block 5 were not cleaned regularly, if at all.
The fridge in our room did not have any storage facility in the door as parts were missing, anyway it was quite so we did not feel inclined to put any food products in it. Having spent €50 euros on food one of our party woke the first morning to find ants crawling all over it. They were then moved to another room later that day and during their stay discovered the jacuzzi did not have sufficient water to cover all the jets which brings into question was the water properly treated? Particularly as one of them was sick for 48 hours after using it.
In another room a kettle did not automatically turn off and boiled completely dry and the kitchen was basically falling to pieces. Also in this room a 2 year old was sick having been in the jacuzzi, we did not use the jacuzzi in our room and neither of us experienced any sickness.
We have photos of the state of some of the rooms should you require them.
We were woken early nearly every morning by furniture being pushed around in some of the apartments, we discovered no one else was staying in block 5 and it was maintenance staff carrying out works. On our last full day this work started just after 6.30am.
One of my daughters had a lunch at the poolside restaurant and the food was appalling so was inedible. Non of the bars had drinking straws throughout our stay and quite clearly some staff had not been trained in making cocktails. Early one evening my one of my daughters ordered a drink at the poolside restaurant and after it had been served a manager came over and told as she didn’t have a reservation the drinks were taken from her, I find taking a drink away from a 2 year old after serving it quite disgusting behaviour.

I won’t go in to all of the detail, as the need for this review is to highlight the NEGATIVES….
First impressions - SHOCKING! - The receptionist ‘DAVID’ instantly advised me that this hotel was 'NOT REALLY A FAMILY HOTEL!' - Upon my complaint of the tiny room. Our first day was ruined, whilst we waited for the hotel to find a bigger room. They were unsuccessful. Love Holidays handled the complaint poorly and the call advisor basically told me that when she booked a triple room with her mum and son on a holiday, that it was fine. So this was insulting, as this was not the same hotel, nor was her son a baby. They wouldn’t have needed space for a travel cot or a pushchair. So I’m sure they got on just fine! (Rolling eyes.) The LH agent who booked the holiday – didn’t take in to consideration the ages of the children on our holiday, he just went with the number of people and put us in to 2 rooms. These rooms accommodate 3 in each room, but not for children. We were not offered a family suite. The complaint handler advised that this was my fault for not looking at the square meters per room. WHO EVEN WALKS OUT THE SQUARE METERS IN THEIR BACK GARDEN BEFORE BOOKING THEIR HOLIDAY!!
Zafiro advised they could upgrade us but it would cost us another 4500Euros – Even though we paid £6,500 for the 9 nights. We were finally offered a bigger room, which had two bedrooms, two days before we were due to check out, they showed me two different options, and then when I agreed, they advised me this was another £150 – which was a reduced rate. I declined.
This hotel is 50 years old and has had attempts to make it modernised – But are failing.
ALL PHOTOGRAPHS ARE VERY WELL TAKEN AT AN ANGLE TO MAKE THINGS LOOK BIGGER.
YOU WILL FEEL LIKE SARDINES AROUND BY THE POOL AREA – There are so many sun loungers – old mixed with ‘Zafiro’ style loungers. Many of which had fabric sagging from them and were snapped / broken – these were lined up alongside others, and also stacked up in a loose pile on the side of the pool. BEWARE also – the POLISHED concrete floor is slippery, poolside. Even the pool entertainer slipped over.
~SMOKING – shouldn’t be allowed by the children’s pool – IN ANY HOTEL! – Two families in particular sat on the front row of sun loungers and chain smoked all day.
IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING HERE AS A FAMILY THEN THERE IS ONLY ONE POOL FOR YOU. AS THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THAT THE SWIMMING POOL ON THE ROOF TOP IS 'ADULT' ONLY. THE DESCRIPTION FOR THIS IS NOT ON THE LOVE HOLIDAYS WEBSITE.
~ The rooms are the size of a shoe box. If you travel with children that require additional luggage and if you need a travel cot, then you wont have any space in your room.
~ You don't have enough space in your room for your luggage - if travelling as a family.
~ You only get 9 hangers, so a 9 night stay in a triple room means you have to live out of your suitcase.
~You will not have any drawers in your room.
~ The beds will not be what are shown in the images – you will see this by the photos I post. A lady by the pool stated she had a metal bed which was nothing like the bed in the photo they booked from.
~ There are no sound barriers from room – to – room. We made several complaints about the noise, even at 4am. You can even hear conversations clearly of those who walk by your room.
~There is only one bar available to get drinks at, unless you go to the ‘ADULT’ bar – 5 floors up, without children. So we spent lots of time queuing for drinks.
The AL LA CARTE RESTAURANT – Great food, however, we were given the dessert menu after our starters, and then our mains arrived. Once we finished out mains, we never got asked if we wanted desserts. We ended up getting up and walking away.
ZEN SPA – should you want to book a massage – then I WOULDN’T recommend it. We paid over 70 euros for a 50 minute massage and facial. To then be out of the room within less than 30 minutes. I raised this complaint with the reception, to be advised that they would speak with the manager. The next morning, I returned to reception and asked what the outcome was to be told, the manager was starting at 9am, I was due to check out and they told me I had to wait. I asked if they could email me, they advised not. This is something else to add to a shocking holiday. We made the best out of what we had, but wont EVER return there again and would only advise anyone to pay the extra and go the 5* Zafiro hotels, as the 4* hotels are nothing like their typical ‘Zafiro’ quality. It has been very disappointing.
The best thing about this hotel was Naomi. She is an absolute credit to this hotel.
