Thieves

1st of all when we picked up the car assigned to us had and impact in the front passenger side. I took pictures and told the lady who attended us and she said they took a video and they were aware of it. Then when we returned the guy who received it was acting strange and looking at the car dent. I noticed and told him that the car was like that when we picked it up and I have pictures and show it to him then he told us he was just doing his work. We were told we will receive the deposit as soon as we return the car and it never happened. I called and they said it was being processed, I sent an email and they replied saying that they returned $250.00 to my Bank account which is not true. And now they sent an email stating there is no refund. This is the 1st and the last time I use them

Double payment

We rented a car via Carjet for our trip to Iceland. We paid in advance for the car rental, comprehensive insurance (all risk) including window insurance, and a second driver. Part of this total amount was paid in advance, and we were to pay the other part on arrival. Upon arrival at the airport, we waited for almost an hour for someone to take us on a 10-minute journey to an office. There, we had to video call someone in a booth. This person was completely unaware of our reservation, did not recognize our voucher, and also indicated that we had to take out insurance. We pointed out multiple times, showed the voucher, that we had already reserved everything and that we only needed to pay the remaining amount. This was not possible; we could not leave without insurance, no matter how we explained that everything was already reserved. We also had to pay for the second driver again. The conclusion after more than one hour in this hot booth is that, in order to be able to leave, we paid for double insurance and even more, and a second driver twice. We paid nearly €300 too much. Ofcourse we contacted Carjet immediately upon returning home, but unfortunately, they take no responsibility and pass the buck to their supplier, Zezgo rent a car. This indicates that there is no communication between ‘Carjet’ and ‘Zezgo rent a car’ and that agreements made are apparently not important. For us a big disappointment and extra expensive experience. And we haven't even talked about the condition of the car yet. A real no go this both Rental agencies.

Warning, one star is too high

I wish I didn’t have to put one star. On a trip to Orlando Florida from Vermont, we researched car rentals in area and chose Zezgo Florida, and given a price of $168 which was quite reasonable. BUT, while signing agreement the fees were added. We paid for tolls ( understandable) then fees because they didn’t use my car insurance ( Progressive) and other fees and thus $168 rental turned into $574. We just wanted a car so we paid. We made an arrangement for drop off and shuttle ride to airport at 8am Saturday ( so pre arranged). Agent informed us of gas prices in area ( we’re from Vermont, how did we know) and said it’s far more convenient and cheaper to just let them fill it, telling us local pricing was $4.95 a gallon, and they fill it cheaper, so obviously we agreed ( finding out later that the prices in area were not close to $4.95 a gallon) We dropped off car on 3/8 tank of gas on proposed date and time and got a shuttle to the airport. The fee hike alone, and misrepresentation of local pricing on fuel was enough to have bad feeling about Zezgo, but there is more. A week later I had a fee on my card for $205. With a call to Zezgo I was informed of fueling of vehicle plus fee to fuel, which I questioned the $205 fee for that. I was then informed that was half that charge, and rest was for “ early drop off fee”. WE WERE CHARGED TO DROP OFF CAR TOO EARLY, which is insane enough, BUT WE ALSO HAD A PREDETERMINED DROP OFF DATE AND TIME. Be warned and prepared, we are tourists and Zezgo advertised on price, and clearly charged a higher than advertised rate., and then added an unreasonable fine. We went from a $168 estimate to a $779 total rate, A $611 PRCE INCREASE!!!!.. AND MADE TO FEEL ITS JUSTIFIED ABD HOW THIJGS ARE FONE ON FLORIDA…BE WARNED IF YOUR USING ZEZGO. This is not slander, all off this is documented occurrence.

Stealth fees added upon arrival

Apparently, the same company as NÜ Car Rentals. Same office, staff, cars, etc.

Worst experience ever.
Do not book here.
It is set up so that no matter the clients' degree of preparedness, insurance, top credit card and pre-paid status, the client will be charged hundreds of dollars more for in stealth fees.
In addition, a deposit of $2000 is required unless the client pays a non-refundable fee.

They do not care if the client leaves without their reserved car. They just smile through the repeated gouging attempts.

Worst experience ever. If you have deep pockets and a yearning to be ripped off, then go here.

When I booked through Expedia I paid…

When I booked through Expedia I paid for extra insurance coverage. When I arrived at the Zezgo rental office I was asked to see my personal insurance information and then I was informed that I needed to pay them an additional 436.00 to cover the cost of the additional 500,000 dollars insurance coverage they were demanding.
These people are bait and switch rip off artists.
I refused the rental and was told to go back to Expedia for a refund. I encountered other people at this location being subjected to the same scam they tried on me.
Expedia would do well to look into what these people are up to.

Horribly dirty car

Horribly dirty car . Stained seats front and back. Filthy steering wheels 🛞 complete snots rude struggle to speak English. No one speaks English and not one person gave us a receipt for the return. thinking we don’t care about our 2.1 stars that we already struggled to keep. Get to the airport after you drop your car off and they take you in the shuttle and they throw your suitcase outside the door. Do as I didn’t take a full video of everything before and after and all the full interaction of everything when you arrive to return your car back to them these people can’t be trusted super rude. THIS WAS IN TAMPA AND THIS STUPID APP DOESN’T EVEN HAVE TAMPA AS AN OPTION.

This is NOT a legitimate company

This is NOT a legitimate company. They lure you in with a low price, and when you show up, they slam you with higher costs, like$300 or more to use their insurance. And then, when you get so mad that you walk out, there is another office door with a different company name on it and they try and reel you in to give you a quote with them. It's all a scam. After all that, then the shuttle that brought you over with ZezGo name on it, refuses to take you back to the airport. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!

Nightmare Zezgo

Rented vehicle through Expedia marking no additional insurance. Had entire car Insurance policy with us stating comprehension and collision coverage. Also in black /white this policy covers rental vehicles. The agent refused to give us the keys to car until forcefully signing additional insurance totaling $419 for 1 week twice the cost of the rental expense. In addition placed a $1000 hold on our credit card. This hold was not removed when returning car. It was on card for an additional 12 days when our credit card company closed out the account due to fraud. Prior to closing card, Zezgo charged an additional $35 onto the card this is unknown for what?! Expedia will not help with this stating that the additional $419 was a Zezgo charge not an Expedia charge. The question is why does Expedia keep Zezgo on their site if they are so unlawful?

Don't do it, Uber/Lyft Driver

It's not for Uber or Lyft driving that's for sure, you get limited mileage and if you go over you are charged hundreds more. They decide when to lock you out of the car, and they continue charging your credit card several times a day. It was a horrible experience and a waste of money. They want all of your money. Stick with Hertz or Avis

had a very disappointing experience…

had a very disappointing experience with Zezgo.

The insurance costs are excessive—far more expensive than the daily rental rate of the car itself. On top of that, they require a $2,500 fee just to take the vehicle, which feels unreasonable and poorly justified.

The return process was confusing and disorganized. It’s unclear what they expect from customers when dropping off the car. I was even required to return the vehicle with more fuel than it originally had, which makes no sense. The whole process nearly caused me to miss my flight.

I do want to recognize Mercedes and David, the secretary and the driver—they were both professional, serious, and good at their jobs. Unfortunately, their efforts don’t make up for the overall experience.

I’ve rented from this company twice and considered myself a returning customer, but there is no sense of loyalty or appreciation. You’re treated the same way regardless.

Overall, this company is a disappointment. Practices like these shouldn’t exist in a customer-focused industry.

Fraudulent practices

Don't ever use Zezgo. Huge deposits, fraudulent practices. At MCO location, Zezgo impersonated a rival agency which I already had paid- refused to show a breakdown of charges - charged for every toll +$25 after I bought the $15.99 pass to cover all tolls - added on their highest insurance after I declined - all in all, the amount was TWICE what I agreed to - and they are not responding to requests for adjustment.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars, I would.

Waited 1.5 HOURS at Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL) for a shuttle while every other rental company ran like normal. Zezgo showed up once. That’s not a delay that’s incompetence.

Tried calling? No answer. Mailbox full. “Customer service” doesn’t exist.

Pickup was total chaos no staff, no organization, people cutting in line with zero control.

After nearly TWO HOURS, we finally got to their location. Check-in was painfully slow, and the employee clearly didn’t care. The entire room was full of frustrated customers.

Car was beat up, full of scuffs/dings, and only 3/4 tank of gas.

Then the breaking point:
Came back later that night and the car was INFESTED with German cockroaches. Completely unacceptable.

Tried calling again — nothing. Even Travelocity couldn’t reach them.

We ended up renting a completely different car from the airport just to avoid being stranded.

Avoid Zezgo at all costs. This company should not be operating like this.

I'd give it no stars or negative stars if that was an option.

I'd give it no stars or negative stars if I could. It's offsite and we waited about 40 minutes for the driver to show up who didn't speak any English and looked at his phone as we were driving, the whole time. Got to the rental counter and the dude is wearing a baseball jersey and informs me of some ridiculous insurance requirements and when I pulled up my policy, which is progressive and well known and reliable, of course my coverages weren't good enough. I tried to see if I could call my agent and add temporary coverage to satisfy their unrealistic coverage and they informed me that it had to be in place 10 days prior. The result, I had to pay $250 to purchase their insurance or get a ride back to the airport and find another car. It was blackmail, I had my family of 5 with me and that wasn't an option and they knew it. They were rude and smug about it on top of it, do not ever use this company to rent a car, you will regret it.

The car dealer demanded $285.34 for…

The car dealer demanded $285.34 for insurance for two weeks. When I asked why it was so expensive, he said the insurance covered everything. After returning the car, I discovered a scratch on the bottom of the bumper. It was caused by the drainage system in the Dominican Republic. On one street, it was so deep that it touched the lower part of the bumper. When I returned the car, he said that this was exactly what wasn't covered by the insurance and demanded an additional $150 (10,000 Dominican pesos) for the damage. I couldn't find this information anywhere in the contract or on the website. I had previously rented cars in the Dominican Republic, and my expenses for a similar car were $30 per day for the same vehicle. I also had a similar problem, and they only asked me for $20 for the same damage. This is a clear increase in the price of insurance that turned out to cover nothing and an inflated claim for the damage I caused.

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with ZezGo Car Rental. I chose them because the booking was tied to Expedia, which gave me a sense of trust—but that turned out to be misplaced.

At pickup, I was told I had to purchase additional insurance costing over $500 because my personal policy didn’t meet their $500,000 coverage requirement. This was despite confirming with my insurance company that I was fully covered. The situation felt misleading and left me with no real choice but to pay.

The vehicle itself was in poor condition, with visible scratches and dents, and no one walked me through the car or documented its condition. At drop-off, there was also no inspection to confirm the fuel level or check for issues, which is concerning as a customer.

I also noticed several other customers expressing similar frustrations during both pickup and return. Because the location is off-airport, you’re essentially stuck unless you want to pay additional transportation costs, which adds to the pressure.

Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and lacking transparency. I would not use ZezGo again, and I would be cautious booking through Expedia when it involves third-party rental companies like this.

This was for the Tampa location on Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. it was in an office with multiple rental company. They aren’t even listed on your location list which adds to the suspicion of a scam.

Avoid this Car Rental company like the…

Avoid this Car Rental company like the plague. It is shady. Just trying to find their shuttle from the Miami Airport to their off-site lot is an ordeal, the checkin process takes forever, and fees above and beyond what you signed up for are added. Then they send you out to their lot and the car you have keys for is nowhere close to where they told you it was parked. If you have issues once you leave the lot, do not expect anyone to answer the phone number they gave you and their voice mailbox is full. Any email you send them returns as undeliverable. I got signed up with Zezgo thru Expedia and they definitely need to do a better job of vetting their business partners. Don't do it! Book with a reliable rental agency
