Give a try to Starlink - it is on sale today.

On Thursday it went down. Called tech support. They told about the outage in area and crews investigating. Friday morning issue persisted. Called again. They told that maintenance was performed. Although I do not believe that as maintenance should be scheduled and customers warned in advance. Now we are out of service. They put us on scheduled service list for Tuesday next week which tells me that we are not the only ones who lost internet after their involvement. That Tuesday now does not guarantee that the service will come back yet. But it is minimum 5 days wait. Wife works from home and has meetings. Son has to do his school work. Any responsibility taken? Apologies? Priorities? If we did not call they would not even care... And you call this place industrially developed country with high level of social responsibility? You are making fun of others? What a shame!

Working with “Xploitnet”

I see I’m one of many, but here’s my personal nightmare with the company I now call “Xploitnet.”

My father’s wife recently passed away. He was simply trying to change his account from her name to his a basic request that should take minutes. Instead, it turned into a drawn-out, frustrating mess of endless back-and-forth emails and delays for no reason.

While still grieving, my father was offered a 5G upgrade. We figured, fine faster speeds could help while he deals with all the online paperwork that comes with losing a spouse.

A technician was “scheduled” to come between 8 AM and 5 PM. My father took the entire day off work, costing him a day’s wages, and boarded his dogs to make things easier for the technician. And what happened? Nobody showed up. No phone call. No email. Not even the decency to let us know.

We called Xplornet, got the standard runaround, and were told someone would call back in an hour. Nearly two hours later, someone finally called only to say they “ran out of parts.” You mean to tell me it took you all day to figure that out? Pathetic.

Between lost wages and dog boarding, this little stunt cost us around $400. Xplornet’s idea of making it right? One free month of service worth about $100. So thanks for still screwing us out of $300, Xplornet.

We’re done. Switching to Rogers, and telling everyone we know to avoid you like the plague

Location: NB

Location: NB. - Just bought my first home and the previous owner had Xplorenet. The tech that came onto my property was not white and as soon as I opened that door.. he asked me if I was the home owner. Like he was confused by a woman owning a home or something. He became insulting and short with me and rude. All for asking him questions about where this dish was going to be located. I was extremely uncomfortable. He twice tried to stand in my personal space.

This tech was inexperienced and lazy. He was scheduled from 12-8PM was there for ONE hour.. and was too lazy to put anything up. I’m not sure how he is employed. And I was not about to let him drill a hole into my metal roof when he was being sexist towards me on my own LAND. Would anybody trust someone like that?

I offered to hold the ladder and he made a remark about my not being able to do so 😂 I assume again because I am a woman. However, I’m 180 pounds of pure muscle do CrossFit, played hockey for 19 years and this guy was a little bi***. So you can imagine the frustration of dealing with misogyny and deciding if this guy is going to damage my property or not.

Because women in his country are in shackles and aren’t allowed to drive or read books he think he can come work in Canada? And mistreat women on the job? Yikes.

Women in Canada are allowed to own property. He failed to communicate correctly, didn’t do the job and Called his company to lie and say it is not possible to have this installed at this location. Which is complete BS. Explore my is full of liars. And they refused me service because I was a woman and he wrote back to his company that they needed two techs and apparently that doesn’t exists in my area… to have two techs come out because dipshit was inadequate.

Appalling experience. The company refused to rebook because this tech called somebody and was speaking in his own language complaining on the other line.

Refused me service because I was a female home owner. I am not a racist person…. But this guy was screwed in the head. Do not use explornet. Go with Starlink. It’s wayyyyyyy better. And you don’t have to deal with any abuse from their company which full of mediocre people. Not giving you a dime anyways and will be filing a complaint your techs are creepy and lazy. Your customer service is full or morons.

I was an Xplorenet customer for 2 years. The internet was constantly going out and on my final bill they double-dipped then refused to acknowledge or refund it. I wish I’d seen these reviews before signing up with them in 2023. I will be lodging a formal complaint with my bank, the BBB and the police, if I’m not refunded what they unlawful withdrew from my account. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!

If I could give this internet company 0 stars I would. I got my internet installed at the end of June . It worked for a total of 8 hours . And then all of a sudden it went out . And it has constantly been out since then. And as of right now I have had no Internet connection since then beginning of this week it’s going 6 days now .. and I am still waiting for a new Router . They refuse to send another teach guy out . They feel that it is not necessary. And that if the problem isn’t resolved with the new Router then I’m to call them back 😡what a joke!!!!! But hey” they still made sure they got their payment for providing no Internet service .

Absolute garbage internet provider

Absolute garbage internet provider. Pay for 100% and receive 40% on a good day
Customer service is a joke as its excuses first come fix last. It’s the snow, it’s the leaves on the trees, it’s the clouds, it’s the tv, it’s in a bad location in my house. It’s every possible level of junk and waste of money with zero effort to come see if there is a fix needed. I got better reception and viewing from tin foiled rabbit ears on my black and white with three channels

xplornet is going down, they do not deliver good internet to rural areas

We called xplornet several times a month ago about the internet connection failure. They sent us a router, we followed procedures they recommended. Was no improvements, and on July 15, 2025 we are without the internet for over 4 hours. Fine, things happen. Why not to inform customers about it? Similar to the electricity service? I would sent their management home. They do not do a good job.

Had a technician come over to my apartment to install the 100 speed 10 upload speed hardware when he went to go test the signal he let me know that the best that he could do is give me 50 speed which isn’t what I signed up for. I mentioned to the technician well that’s what I’m currently getting with Bell right now is 50 speed why would I switch to Xplorenet if they can’t give me the 100 speed that is posted directly on their website. He mentions to me that the trees outside are the reason I can’t get the 100 speed I told the technician to leave and I’ll just stick to my Bell internet they’re a waste if time. Waited all day for the technician to arrive only to be met with disappointment.

Trash can Internet service that takes advantage of the fact you can’t get anything else.

Internet goes down constantly speeds are inconsistent even if you pay the arm and leg for there best package. If it wasn’t my only option I wouldn’t even have a second thought about not using them

I have used xplornet in Prince Edward County for years. They were ok at first and have gone steadily downhill. They are now rock bottom.
Their service sucked last year with continual outages and no internet. They got me to upgrade to their best package and it’s even worse!!! Internet shows connected at 50% but no internet. What good is that???? It fades in and out, losing connectivity every few minutes. Do not get unless you have to. Run……

Do not use this company!

Do not use this company!
I had to use it for years because I did not have another option. A good portion of my province went down for more than two days. They lied about it even being down when I was discussing it with one of their reps a few weeks later (today)! They are unreliable, their customer service is absolutely horrible in many cases, they outright lie to you, and their Internet cannot be relied on.
I highly recommend that you exhaust all other options before even looking at this company. This is coming from somebody that has used it for years and never will again.

Keep an eye on your installation member, watch him like a hawk

What you need to know is I live in a RV Park and I need wireless internet, so I phoned them ask for an installation how much it would be when I got all that information. But my installer first of all put the modem an accessories on the lawn, they got covered in dead grass. And at the end of install these items were still covered in grass, had everything to set up and mounted on the top of my RV. Then I had to show him how to take an existing cable line and run my cable from the dish mount
it into my modem cuz he didn't know how. On top of that all the zip ties he used he cut the ends off and threw them on the ground behind my trailer. The top it off he had to phone for help how to start the modem find the right codes get it all ready and then I had a stepper inside for him to work on, he broke my paper towel rack right off the wall I have pictures but I don't think they're going to allow me to show them, very unprofessional installer always talking on his bluetooth to family members not happy at all...

0/5 — Poor company. Unreasonable delays. Prices are 4x higher than any competitor. Service goes down for weeks every time it snows.

I do not recommend this internet provider at all. As soon as it snows, you lose Wi-Fi access for days. Their response time to send a technician is completely unreasonable — often taking up to a week — leaving us unable to work online or access essential services, despite paying 4x more than any competitor.

Their pricing is outrageously high compared to other providers. The only reason we stayed with Explor was because no other company served our municipality at the time.

We’ve since switched to EBOX, which offers faster service, better coverage, quicker response times, and more generous data and speed — all for a quarter of the price.

Explor feels like using dial-up internet from the 1990s.
