Placed an order then got the email…

Placed an order then got the email saying to send photos of my credit card or the order would be cancelled in 5 days if they don’t hear from me. Low and behold I go check my credit card account and they of course have already charged it. Went back to their website logged in and cancelled the order. Have screenshot of the order cancellation confirmation. I am now disputing the charge with credit card company I ain’t waiting around like others to get their money back or not. My credit card company will take care of this company. I would be very careful those of you who have indeed removed orders that at a later date your accounts are compromised. This photo requesting tactic is just weird and very suspect of a scam.

I just bought from yamibuy at the start of the month for the 1st time ever.
Yes it took a bit, as I expected due to covid and shipping, but I got EVERYTHING I ordered and couldn't be happier! Expiration days are far off, the food is fresh and when I called to thank their staff they were courteous and excited to hear my praise.

All I ask is instead of going exactly by all the reviews here, take it with a grain of salt as I did...and order while paying through paypal. I'm so glad I took the chance, everything was perfect especially given the mass order I did of alooot and I mean ALOT of snacks.

Disrespectful to customers

Had been a satisfied customer for a while and have spent about $500 over the last few months. Yami was my preferred online retailer for Asian goods until this week. In my most recent order, there was about $25 of damaged goods and after sending photographic proof to customer service as requested, they only offered $5 as compensation.
Plan to be following up with PayPal to settle dispute.

Update: Claim escalated with PayPal. Yamibuy has responded on this website but has not responded to PayPal request for information as of 4/26

I really liked Yamibuy until last order

I really like Yamibuy, I have bought from them more than 10 times now, compared to other Asian food supply online sites, they seem to have more of varieties and website is very organized, easier to spot what I need to order. Also prices are better than others.
However, I never was really satisfied with the courier company they use. They sometimes deliver at very late at night, one time after midnight that woke up everyone in the household. That was even okay before this time. I was waiting for my order to come and it showed on the tracking it has been delivered, so I went outside and looked everywhere. I could not find anything.
Contacted the courier service and they say they did deliver at the correct location because the tracking history says so. I have to look harder and maybe ask around the neighbors. I did ask neighbors, but they have no clue. Contacted Yamibuy customer service. They said I should contact the courier, for which I told them I have already done. They replied that they contacted the courier to do more research. Nothing happened since then.
I really wanted to keep liking Yamibuy.
Hope they will change the courier company they use.

I don't understand what's going on

I don't understand what's going on. Made a $50 purchase. Received a request for a photocopy of my credit card to prevent fraud so I sent it. THEN received another email asking me for a copy of my pending charge from my credit card bill.

Did I mention I have an order history going back at least 4 years with this company?

This is far too much work for a simple noodle order. I will be seeking a new vendor immediately.

Great experience this far

Glad I took a chance despite the negative reviews. I’m currently waiting on my third order with them, the first two arrived in stunning condition with very reasonable shipping times considering it was being shipped from California to Ohio.
Some things are a little overpriced in comparison to other online Asian markets, and the best things seem to always be out of stock, but it’s a great way to try Asian snacks and ramens that you might otherwise have to pay a huge scalpers price for on Amazon.
If they already had a higher rating I might give them a 4-star review, just because there were some popular Asian snacks that I was after that they didn’t have, but they definitely deserve higher than a mid-two star review in my opinion, so I’m giving them a 5 to raise their average.
I haven’t had to deal with customer service yet, so I can’t speak on that front, but they ship items very quickly and use lots of air cushions to protect everything in your box, so I would guess as much attention goes into their customer service-but I’ll update my review if I ever need to contact support with my experience in that area as well.

Inefficient Shipping. Still haven’t gotten my products.

As of now, I don’t really have anything to say of the products themselves, as I have not received them at all. It’s almost five days from the expected delivery date and it still hasn’t been delivered. FedEx is known to be highly inefficient, especially in rural areas. I ordered tofu, which I’m sure has gone bad by now after being in a box for over a week. If Yami wants to offer their products to rural areas, they should choose a delivery service that can efficiently get their products to those areas.

Edit : I got my products today, and I have raised the review as none of the products came damaged due to their good packing. I still think that they should offer more shipping options for rural areas - but I just give credit where credit is due!

Asian food is my passion

Asian food is my weakness. I can't eat food from other cuisines. I tried actually all of them. European, asian, mid-asian, russian, scandinavian and asian was the only one which brought my heart literally. I start eating exceptionally asian food and I have been doing it for more than ten years. This service is one of those which help me when I am lack of asian food in my organism. You know, my organism has already adapted to consuming asian food. I order here food all the time and I guess I'm a regular here. The food is delivered pretty fast and I have no doubts towards the quality of this food, it's on a high level.

Order can’t arrived on the promising day, horrible customer service experience

I was planning to buy from other vendor for the Valentine’s Day. However, other vendor didn’t offer the to be deliver on the 2/14 when order placed on 2/13. This is the first time I use this and it will be the last time. When placing the order, it says promised delivery time is 2/14. Therefore, I ordered drinks and chips to celebrate the Vday. However, I have waited at home AlL DAY LONG. Then called customer service at night to find out where is my order, they told me their driver didn’t pick up my order on that day! Lots the food on yamibuy is more expensive than other vendor. The only reason that make sense to order from them is because they promised to arrived in a shorter time. I told Customer service I won’t use it again, and then she offer me 200 points and told me it won’t expire?! So they try to use little points to compensate a leaving customer? I won’t use their service anymore why do I need those points for? Very bad experience and horrible customer service!!! And then they even told me they can canceled my order since it hasn’t ship yet! By saying that, they are trying to push away their customer without any compensation and they just ruined my Vday! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM to avoid any issue.

$100 Gift Card Expired after 3 Months

The customer care team reached out to me and extended the expiration date of my gift card

My $100 gift card expired 3 months (actually less than 3 months) after redemption. It didn't show me any warning about the expiration date when I redeemed it.

Also, under the Federal Credit Card Act of 2009 gift certificates and store gift cards can't expire for five years. However, issuers can still charge an "inactivity fee" if the card has not been used within twelve months. (15 U.S.C. § 1693l–1).

I contacted Customer Service via email but never received anything.

Awful treatment of new customers

Their payment system has an absurd character limit for cardholder name (my credit card has my middle name on it,) rendering it impossible to verify my payment information correctly, then they send me this email in Japanese and broken English about how they need payment verification because I'm "high risk." Just yes, it's me, I'm sketchy, not you. It's not likely my shipment is going to go out on time over this, either. What a garbage way to treat a new customer. Utterly inexcusable payment system.

Wow, good to know.

Wow, my son loves the Japanese jelly which I ordered from Amazon and its kinda expensive, so I googled and want to know if I can find same products more reasonable price else where. Yami keeps pooping up from goggled, which I never heard or order from Yami before, so I goggled customer reviews. Glad I came across these reviews. Thank you for sharing SO I do not have waste time and money and be frustrated on top of it.

Scam Website DO NOT BUY FROM IT!!!!

Scam Website DO NOT BUY FROM IT. I ordered from this site on September 1, 2021, and it is now October 18, 2021. It says delivered but I never received anything, when I try to track my order on their site and hit the button to track my order it doesn't do anything I'm still on the track order screen so it's basically there just for show so they can say they have a way to track your order. They have a weird email, not even a professional one it's "christopherfernandez5666928" they don't respond to you for days, I emailed them on September 30, 2021, saying my order has been in the same spot since September 17, and I didn't get a reply until October 11th, 2021 and they said, "Dear customer Your parcel has been signed for receipt, you can ask your friends if you have signed for your parcel on your behalf, and we will also check the parcel information for you Thank you for your support and have a nice day." DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE!!!

Nah, Yamibuy is cool

Nah Yamibuy is cool. Before 2020, processing & shipping times were much faster than they are now but the drawback was that product selection was smaller. In recent years item selection for their main outlet, "Fulfilled by Yamibuy" has expanded.

The issue now is that, since the 2020 lockdown and nowーthey get more consumer volume than their current staff can handle because more people have found out about this site and are shopping CONSTANTLY. I can't speak for the third party vendors (similar to Amazon) bc I don't buy from their shops, but I can at least say that I do get all of my items on time, months to years before expiration, with zero card issues. Processing is just slow, which as an essential worker myself is something I understand all too well. 😭😩💯
