Yelp filters out good reviews

Yelp filters out good reviews from small businesses- they do this to stop the businesses from growing organically on their platform and to force the owner into paying them for ads (or if ur like me and already paying ads they still do it then call u to tell u to increase ur ad budget since ur not showing enough). What’s even worse is when you called to speak to someone about it you get treated very poorly by the staff because unless you’re calling to troubleshoot a technical problem with the app or increase ad budget they don’t want to talk to you and I’ve been yelled that and hung up on several times because I am asking questions. Up until today I have not spoken to anyone who would give me a straight answer the girl that I spoke to you today about it from Yelp even though she would not answer my questions she didn’t look at my reviews that were all deleted by Yelp and she agreed that there was nothing wrong with them I am not one of those people I go and try to review myself I have legit clientele who like to review and these ppl are verified yelpers with several other reviews and several friends on yelp and completed profiles- she told me for the first time might I add that even she doesn’t understand why they would be removed. It’s all a scam. I don’t understand the angry customers on here saying that yelp and the businesses listed are conspiring together lol that’s ridiculous! Yelp doesn’t remove bad reviews EVER in fact they keep them there - again because it draws the business down. This company should not be trusted by anyone idk how they’re not shut down by now

Fake company

Fake company, only wants positive reviews for other companies so they pay them.

Do not trust anything on Yelp, you will be duped, all reviews hand picked to benefit yelp and the company being reviewed they both work hand in hand.

How can a company be deemed reliable…

How can a company be deemed reliable and credible when they get a 2/5 star rating ON THEIR OWN SITE? I remember being hounded by a belligerent salesperson a few years ago that first turned me off of Yelp. Recently a customer (who I thought was great) gave me a 1 star rating - his review held lies, exaggerations and defamatory comments. I flagged it only to have Yelp tell me they were keeping it up. In my 30 years in business, I received 5 stars from practically everyone (once I received a 4 star)....so this review was completely out of touch (and if you read it you'll know why). I will NEVER consider Yelp a reliable source and unfortunately, due to them, this unfounded review shows up on Google searches. They should be ashamed to allow reviews that are full of lies and can harm someone's business....and there is no one to talk to.

Yelp 'bots hide some reviews under a tiny, grey, "Not Recommended" fine print on the bottom. So, for a full understanding, a consumer must manually (mentally) deduct suspicious reviews (e.g. few reviews posted) and ones that appear, by simple logic imo, to favour their advertisers, the restaurants and businesses. I now use Yelp Reviews with a big grain of salt. They bought out UrbanSpoon, a competitor. The Ralph Nader in me sez that's anti-consumer. Just my two cents, here. My actual experience is that I cannot trust Yelp Reviews, but it's still a good idea to take a read, before heading out to some venue where there is "risk".

I am new to this and I am REALLY angry

I am new to this and I am REALLY angry! Is there not ANY way to stop Yelp from doing the crap they do as far as small businesses or anything for that matter. They extort, they are sketchy, I can go on and on. Did you know that five people can sit in a room and using Yelp from their phone, pull up the same business to review and each person's phone show something different about that particular business?? One day you have 4 stars and after a few days of people posting awesome five star reviews you are now at 3 and a half stars?? It's ludicrous!! It's predatory that these people can do this!

Sometimes Yelp is much better than google

These days I use google every day. But Yelp is still my best friend when it takes to restaurants and coffee. They have way more realistic information on local businesses and their ratings. I with they could make their interface better though. But overall, it's my first choice when I'm looking for a new place to take my friends to for dinner.

SHAMEFUL HYENAS , THREATENING SMALL BUSINESSES

IF YOU SEE A 5 STAR COMMENT ON YELP BEWARE THAT THAT COMPANY PAYS THEM ADS THEREFORE THE REVIEW IS FAKE

IF YOU POST A 1-2 STAR RATING YOUR REVIEW IS DELETED OR YOUR ACCOUNT IS BLOCKED BCUZ THE BUSINESS OWNER PAYS ADS TO YELP...
I HAVE LOST MY TRUST IN YELP, THEY ALSO RUIN SMALL BUSINESSES THAT CAN'T AFFORD MONTHLY 200 USD AD, THEY SIMPLY FABRICATE A FAKE 1-STAR REVIEW OF THEM RUINING THEIR REPUTATION, YELP KEEPS ON CALLING BUSINESS OWNERS EVERYDAY TRYING TO SELL PAID ADS, IF U REFUSE YOUR RATING GOES DOWN

I HAVE SEVERAL TIMES POSTED BAD REVIEWS OF REALLY BAD SERVICES BUT MY REVIEWS WERE BLOCKED COMPLETELY BCUZ PROBABLY IN THAT CASE THE OWNER PAYS ENOUGH MONEY TO YELP TO DELETE THE REVIEW...
