We were looking at equity release and it's a minefield out there, we eventually decided on Equity release associates as a starting point. We were then contacted by Steven Berresford with a view to an appointment. When we met he was pleasant and up front, did not try to sell anything as such but took us through the full process. He was very patient as I am profoundly deaf and my wife partially deaf, he answered our questions truthfully with no flannelling end explained every detail and answered some obscure questions. He done all the donkey work and form filling and sent us a recommendation out within a week. We had a second meeting once we received this, went through it and he then processed our application. We were warned that it could take 12 to 16 weeks but in our case it was just 8 weeks, I would recommend Steven to anyone looking into equity release to contact him. He also covered funerals and Lasting Powers of Attorney as part of the package. A very pleasant, honest and likable person.

Steven listened carefully to my all of my questions when I visited him at his office following a recommendation from my accountant. After considering the alternatives with Steven, we realised that (at this time) we were not in a position to proceed, but we will revisit in the coming months.
