I took delivery of a Renault 5 in early May 2025 through my employer’s salary sacrifice scheme. At the time of ordering, I agreed to a 24-month term, specific mileage, and a gross monthly payment.
Very little of the paperwork was provided physically, and vehicle order information had to be accessed through the Zenith portal under “My Vehicle.” I later discovered that the agreement term had been changed from 24 months to 36 months without any consultation or approval from me.
After my employer switched providers to Octopus, I lost access to my Zenith profile and could no longer view the relevant information. I raised my concerns with the account manager and was told the matter would be investigated.
I then received an email dated 24 April 2026 stating: “I can see there was an IT issue with the term of your agreement.” This clearly indicates the error was on Zenith’s side, not mine.
Despite this, I have since received a further email from the account manager advising that they now want to increase the monthly amount as a result of their own mistake. There was no meaningful attempt to discuss the issue, accept responsibility, apologise, or find a fair resolution.
Based on my experience, Zenith’s customer service has been extremely poor, and the way this has been handled has seriously undermined my trust in the company. I would urge others to be very cautious before using them.

Everything went fine up until the car was delivered !
The car was a second hand fully electric vehicle so I was not expecting it to be perfect, however, it turned up in a bit of a state, grubby and dirty inside and out, no washer fluid (which was being displayed on the dashboard for the delivery driver to see) also on the display was the tyre warning light, when I checked the pressure all 4 tyres were low ( at least 10 psi on all 4).
So not the best of starts, I complained to Zenith who tried to tell me that the tyre warning light came on as it was being delivered and that all there cars are inspected by the AA before delivery !, I told them that im not an idiot and I find it very difficult to believe that all 4 tyres suddenly lost pressure , but I had dealt with it so moved on to the cleanliness of the car, after sending photos over they did agree with me that it wasn't up to standard and to be fair they did give me 50 pound for a valet. To utilise all the features in the car you need to have all keys present to pair it to your phone, when I brought this up with Zenith they said that it needs to go in for an inspection and repair, I also reported to them that at motorway speeds the car has an alarming vibration coming through the steering wheel, again it needs an inspection, as I work full time I had to take a day off from work to take the car into Volvo. After the inspection the key issue got sorted but not the tyre issue that's another day off work for an issue that the AA inspector should have picked up on.
How many days off from work am I expected to sacrifice for a vehicle that was delivered with problems ?

Honestly, sadly, one of the most deplorable companies I have ever had to deal with.
I have a salary sacrifice with Zenith through my work place and I wish I had never bothered. To start with, they lure you in with the ‘cost savings’, when in reality they are making a huge profit in you. I am paying over £900 gross per month for a car which I could lease privately for under £500, but because I am in the 40% tax bracket, it looks like it will work out slightly cheaper than leasing privately, when you include the cost of insurance, tyres etc.
Once you have signed up to a lease and they have their claws in you, that is the end of the line, they know they have your money coming and couldn’t care less about your experience.
I ordered my car August 2024. It was estimated 8-12 weeks delivery. In November, a friend of mine had an identical car delivered privately, which they had ordered in September. When i called the car company, they explained it was because Zenith hadn’t finalised the deal until October, 4 months after I signed up to it.
I have it on my quote, on a list of FAQs Zenith provided, and on an email from a sales rep stating that road tax is included. You may assume that this means the cost of road tax is included, but you would be wrong. It only means that they will tax the car online - and then bill you for it. I ordered my car in August 2024, the changes to EV road tax was announced in November 2022, well ahead of me ordering the car, so I would have the thought the 2 years between the law changing and my £900+ a month car being delivered would include the £195 a year road tax. It does not, despite the multiple places they mention ‘road tax included’. They use terminology in the contract such as ‘we are not liable for increases to the road fund licence’. I am not in the motor trade, but I have been around, and have never heard this term in my life before coming across it with Zenith. If this isn’t to obfuscate the truth and trick you into not realise what it means, then I don’t know why they would use this terminology.
Furthermore, if you receive a parking ticket or other infringement, regardless of whether it would be upheld, they pay it straight away so you do not have the chance to contest it. They then charge you an admin fee for the pleasure.
My advice to anyone would be avoid this company. I am petitioning my company to take on another scheme and actively discouraging anyone who asks me about it at work. The one saving grace is that if you resign, you can hand the car back, so as a result i am genuinely looking for other jobs because of this scheme. I love the car but I’d give it back today if I could. Avoid.
