Camera bag zip perfectly repaired

I've twice been to Zipexperts and both occasions I've have been really happy with the excellent service. A large quite old camera bag, well travelled, had a broken zip. This particular bag is not available any longer and it perfectly suited my requirements.
The zip works perfectly now.
I feel fortunate that this service is available. I can totally recommend Zipexperts from my experience.

Ruined biker bags

I Called this business and explained that I had a bikers luggage bag that needed zips (5) that closed together so you could lock them together instead of the long zips that it already had. I also asked that when the zips met the hole in the two zips would allow a good padlock to be used. I was asked to bring it to Wood Green so they could look at it and price it up to be done. I Delivered the bag, explained to both the people in detail what was wanted yet again and they agreed and mentioned (sliders), I had no idea what a slider was and they explained and said that was what was needed, I paid a deposit, left the bag, agreed a day to pick it up and came home. £135.00. I Went to pick it up today and although everything was explained twice it wasn't what was required.
The slider has been put on but they've left the original in place and now not only does it not match on a very expensive piece of luggage it's not fit for purpose. One side is black and the other original side is silver and the old zip end will not allow a safe padlock through the hole which is why I needed it changed. When I asked why they hadn't done the job as discussed they both ganged up on me and accused me of making problems and tried to persuade me to use a wire padlock so that it would fit through both holes.!! This afternoon I took it elsewhere but it seems that they’ve mucked it up so badly nothing more can be done except to take the whole zip off and replace it all. They never even offered to rectify with the same colour zip ends.
I WOULD NOT EVER USE THIS BUSINESS
AND I CERTAINLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

IN RESPONSE TO YOUR REPLY.
a) Yes you did explain what a slider was after I asked as I had stated in my review, therefore I would then not need to google it, and I find that response quite offensive.
b) The agreement was for 5 zips and you never mentioned colour at all, why would you when the assumption was for all zips to be the same? Had you done so I would have asked further questions pertaining to what you were proposing ?
c) If the new “sliders “ only came in black why then would you assume that leaving one silver side and one black side would be acceptable ? Surely your
“Professionalism” would not have been satisfied with that aesthetic ?
d) The agreement was for you to replace 5 zips with “sliders” that met in the middle to enable a very expensive bag to be locked when used.
e) I was unhappy and we had a conversation on your doorstep about it, your partner even came down the stairs to back you up but you never offered to rectify anything at all, all you did was hold out your hand for the money and you did not offer a receipt. My behaviour was not rude at all, I was very disappointed that you had not fulfilled our agreement but you then still asked for payment which I gave in full.
f) I might also add that at no time was we asked into a workshop on delivery nor on collection, all business was conducted on a doorstep in the pouring rain.!!
g) I never said that the zip could be fixed, what I said was that the way forward now would be to replace the zip, the place that I took it to said the zip had been cut and superglue has been used after the “slider “ had been put on. If that was the case then I don’t understand why you would not have replaced all of them do that they matched.
You had my telephone number so why would you not have called me to ask.?
This is my response. I will not be bringing back the bag and I certainly would not EVER recommend anyone to use you.

I am sorry to hear that Ann. We explained exactly what we can do on the bag and we did it, we also explained what a slider is but you probably forgot. You could always look it up on Google as it was written clearly on the ticket we gave you. The agreement was for 5 new sliders and you said that the colour would not matter to you. So we used the best in the market, Japanese YKK heavy duty that only come in black. The 2 sliders can lock fine as we demonstrated with 2 different pad locks. We did not deal with the original sliders on the pockets, because that was not the agreement. If you were unhappy about something you could have told us to change the original pull, if you preferred the ones we installed. We could do this for you without charge, although your behaviour was rather rude as you left without even getting your receipt.
Also the zips on this bag are not replaceable so we find your claim is false, that you took the bag to someone that thought that we damage it.
The bag is in perfect condition and fully working the way we promised it would do.

My favourite and quite new case was revitalised rather than dumped. Very happy.

I have a case that is special as I represented GB Age Group Team at the world triathlon finals in Montreal. The zip came undone and HUUB from where I purchased it, couldn’t help me. I found Zip Experts and they gave me a quote based upon some photos I shared, it was posted to them and the turn around was as quoted. The bag is once again robust and complete, looks as new with the new zips and repair. And the additional recommended oil I purchased will ensure it has a long life as will my other zipper bags. So consider them as they are what they say experts with Zips. Thank you. This bag will be with me when I qualify once more.

Superb

Superb

I had a very expensive, Canadian-made winter coat with a broken zip and they repaired it, in 25 minutes, perfectly. The coat was under warranty, but would have involved sending it back to Canada, leaving me to freeze for months. Zipexperts were professional, fast, great workmanship and even had the spare part in stock. Strongly recommended and a great find.

Great company

I sent my jacket to them for repair of the zip and it was very straightforward. It was returned In the post with a good as new zip. So pleased - my jacket was brought in 1999 and was quite expensive in its day so the jacket has lasted well and hopefully will for many more years now. Great to be able to get items repaired and not have to discard them.

Very Professional Experts

I was lucky to find zipexperts after 2 years of my Nomatic backpack zip rail being broken and I could not find anyone to repair it.
It was the 4-zip affair with the teeth coming out at one of the top edges.
Booking online was easy as was going to North London. I waited in a lovely coffee shop whilst Vasili repaired the damage and made all the zips look good. He even added a polish to ensure weatherproofing. Very good guy, professional and trustworthy. Cost is reasonable for the amount of work he had to do. Having been to different cobblers here and overseas, I cannot recommend Vas enough for this type of work.

Excellent service

Great service and economic and timely repairs which have saved me hundreds of pounds on otherwise having to replace two large Samsonite pieces of luggage. Highly professional as well.

A little bit of magic

I was very upset when the zip broke on my favourite Brics .carry-on bag. The zip had torn away from the fabric. I sent it to Zipexperts and they repaired it without replacing the whole zip. The repair is invisible and beautifully done. Fast service and very satisfied. Thanks Vas!

Fabulous service

Vas repaired the zip on a Givi tank bag for me, and has done a fantastic job! The communication from the first enquiry was absolutely fantastic, everything explained at each step, and everything done exactly as and when it was said it would be. I have no hesitation in fully recommending using Zip Experts, and I will certainly use them for any such repairs I need in the future.

TRIC guitar case coil zip - beautifully repaired

My TRIC guitar case has a huge, chunky coil zip almost 2 metres long with sliders each end. One slider had already broken - leaving the coil prone to opening - and the other slider was well on the way ! This is pretty serious for this kind of case, because the zip holds the assembly together. If the zip goes, the case opens and the guitar falls out...
Mr 'Zip Expert' replied quickly to my email and we fixed an appointment for repair same day. He quoted me a price which I was happy with and he did the work within 1 hour, while I waited in a local cafe.
He did an excellent job, replacing both sliders with YKK ones (of the right size but higher quality than the originals) then stitching the two ends back in place and lubricating the whole thing.
The case is 6 years old but is now BETTER than when it was new. I'm well satisified and can recommend unhesitatingly !

Bad M&S winter coat zip

Bought winter coat from M&S with a bad zip. My nemeses every winter. Couldn't rely on anyone to fix it. Took a chance here, the fella was very confident he would 'sort it out' and he did. Very happy with the service. Job done.
