AVOID

AVOID
Bought a car off them 3 months ago. It was a new enough car but I wanted to start the servicing under my own name, even though I had been assured it had been done. Lucky I did as the mechanic told me there was a completely faulty brake disc on the car. Zucar covered the cost to replace under warranty but still a dodgy thing to happen. After 3 months of owning the car I realised it did not suit my needs. I went back to then so see if they could assist me with trading it in against another (bare in mind I knew I would be losing money on this). I bought the car for €28900. After 3 months and 2000km they offered me €20000. AVOID

ZUCAR FRAUD

6 Months before, purchased a car from this dealer with 2-year extended warranty (Frauds). Asked them to deliver the car took them 2 weeks to deliver. Encountered the first issue right after the purchase within 30 days, coolant pipe was broken (got it fixed after 15 days) the car was serviced in their center. After 15 days started another problem with the fuel tank leak and wiring issues. Raised a complaint with their warranty department they did not even revert back. Keep asking on getting a new car from them and giving me a buy-back option which I am losing a lot of money for no reason. I keep on asking them to go with the repair but no answers. They sold me the mechanically faulty car and no acceptance on this.
Now here, they will buy back a car from me repair it and sell it for +8k more.

Absolutely dissatisfied with Zucar! Dishonest company.

My recent dealing with Zucar on Little Island in Cork left me with TERRIBLY BITTER TASTE.

1. PATHETIC TRADE-IN VALUE.
Like many others from the reviews, a few months ago my car was valued €5000 LESS than its real value so I declined the “wonderful” trade-in offer.

2. NO RESERVATION, OR POSSIBLY BUYING A CAR, UNLESS… YOU CHOOSE ZUCAR’S FINANCIAL OPTIONS?
Recently I test-drove one of their cars and wanted to buy it and even pay a deposit but I was told it was already “reserved.” Nevertheless, the sales rep gave me a quote via one of their financial institutions but I told her that I'd go with my Credit Union and need 2 days to sort it out.

3. CORDIAL BUT… PUSHY, VERY PUSHY TO MAKE THE DECISION NOW! BUY NOW!!!
The salesperson became very pushy so I wanted to see what the Zucar financial services would offer and the monthly payments were higher than my CU.

I offered to pay some deposit immediately but I was told that Zucar does not take deposits. However, if I wanted to “secure my car,” I should decide to buy it IMMEDIATELY and SIGN the “Commitment to buy” papers!?

Isn’t it confusing and strange that, on one hand, the car was already "reserved" but, on the other, I could have secured it by signing the commitment to buy papers!? I wonder if Zucar makes up the stories about the “reservations” and waits for the “right person” to come and buy their cars but only via the Zucar financial services.

I took the printed-out offer and I went home waiting on the salesperson to send me a link so that I could upload pics of my car for the possible trade-in option for my 2nd car. Although I received the link by mail that day, I did not proceed with the upload because I saw no reason to pursue a car that was already “reserved.” Plus, I didn’t want the trade-in option but to make my own arrangements with my Credit Union.

The next morning I got a call from another salesperson asking me when I would upload the pictures for the trade-in option and I asked if the car was available. She conformed it was. Now, did the first sale really failed through or not, I don’t know but I am thinking that there may have not even been such sale, or reservation, because the most important thing is not a satisfied customer but to sell your financial services on the top of the huge profit they get from their cars.

While talking on the phone to the salesperson that day, our connection started having some issues and I told her that I would hang up and call her back immediately which I did but I could not get through at all. Their phone was ringing and ringing and since I was at work, I went about my tasks hoping that the salesperson, realising that the connection had cut off, would call me back. Normal business practice but obviously NOT IN ZUCAR because NO such call ever came back as they don’t care about their customers and, more importantly, they didn’t see me as a potential customer for their “great” financial services. What a “professionalism!“

Since no call came in during the day, immediately after work I went to Zucar to inform them once again that I needed 2 days to get the money from my Credit Union but, unfortunately, I found out that the car had already been sold! When the receptionist called someone on the phone to ask them if they had asked for me to come in, I could heat the other person on the phone telling the receptionist: no, we sold the car.

Wonderful and very honest business practice, Zucar! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for wasting my time! Never again!

I am willing to bet that if I had agreed to the Zucar financial plan the first time I was in for the car I liked, I would have most certainly had the car by now.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ZUCAR TO ANYONE. I would not take a car from them, even if they gave me one for free because I do not trust them at all. Actually, it may be “reserved” for someone 😊

EDIT: 06 June, 2023 - the fact that Zucar asked Google to REMOVE this review speaks volumes! RUN WAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

A very poorly functioning company

A very poorly functioning company. When I came to inspect the car, it was not cleaned, the interior was dirty, although it was agreed in advance. When I asked about the car, they immediately talked only about leasing and deposits. There was no mention of a deal! The price of the car is over €40,000, and they only give a 30-day warranty, where everywhere else they give a minimum of 3 months. In short, I will never contact this company again and I certainly will not recommend it to anyone!

We Had a deal agreed deposit paid they called me up asking for more money after we agreed the price . They also wouldn't give me the car insurance cover for any damage or scratches after telling me it will be included. All the info they advised was incorrect. Be careful and do not be mislead. They also ask you 2 get a bankers draft to pay into another company which is probably the financial Ltd company.

Bought a 171 Opel Mokka from ZuCar…

Bought a 171 Opel Mokka from ZuCar Cork. Overall the experience was very positive. Even when the Mokka developed a relatively minor issue ZuCar were all over it.

Special recognition to David in Sales. Courteous and friendly. Followed up in a timely manner and kept me informed in a timely manner.

Also similar recognition to Naomi and Barry in Service. Great support and follow up when the car needed attention.

Walter.

Worst service ever!!!!!!

My one bit of advice to you, would be AVOID this place!!!! If I could of left minus stars I would of. I purchased my car back in October 2021 off Stephen in Rochestown Avenue. Stephen was nice to deal with but that's were it ends. One of the molds over the back wheel fell off within a couple of weeks, which shouldn't of happened. I contacted Stephen and he said he would order it in. Rang several times after and was told it was on order. Then I was told the part was in but due to Covid they didn't have the staff to fit it. A few months later, Colm / Colin who I think was from customer service called to see how I was getting on with my car. Filled him in and he said he would look into it and get back to me, he didn't. I rang him and he said he was working on it as Stephen had left for BMW and had taken my file with him (make sense of that if you can, surely the notes are kept for any staff member to follow up on). That was the last I heard from him despite trying to make contact with him. Next, my husband contacted Andrew in Drogheda, who has kept in contact with us and seems very helpful, I am currently putting all my trust in him and he is the only person I would recommend anyone deal with. If you see a car that ZuCar are selling that you have to have, try and buy it through Andrew. He told us there was no part and none had been order in (looked like Stephen hadn't been truthful with me) but he was going to source and order it in and then shortly afterwards he kindly contacted us to say it was in. In the meantime my engine light came on and has stayed on so we informed Andrew of this also. I purchased the 2 year extended warranty for the purpose if I had trouble with the car it would be sorted. My car had to go in to get work done to it for another reason, the engine light and the mold was to be sorted whilst it was in. This brings me to today and writing this review. I had avoided writing a review in the hopes that everything would be sorted, I really don't like writing negative reviews, but unfortunately the issues still haven't been sorted. I collected the car today and within half an hour the engine light was back in, also the mold that was order is the wrong one, despite them knowing the make and model and a photo of where it was missing had previously been sent. I have the say, hands down, this is the worst service I have EVER had.

Zucar please don't reply with a number or email to contact you. I have done all this so many times in the past and the issue with the mold is going on nearly 9 months now. You will easily get my details off Andrew, just say LandRover and missing mold and I am sure he will know who you are talking about.

I paid good money for the car its a shame the customer service is the opposite. I plan to upgrade my car every two years, but unless a miracle happens I WILL be AVOIDING Zu Cars at all cost. Zucar you have lost a potential long-term customer.

What an experience....

This might be bit longer... Me and my friend went to Cork ZuCar to have a look at Peugeot 208. We were looked after by a beautiful lady called Maria. We got offered tea, coffee and then we got the key and went for little drive. I was disappointed with the car but Maria didn't give up and she has showed us another 4 different cars and as we drove each and every one of them she figured out what car I would actually like. And honestly ..hat off.... she delivered. I ended up leaving with paid deposit on THE car, huge smile and I don't think I've stop until we got back to Wexford. What an experience. I can't say one bad thing about this dealer and their staff. They looked after us incredibly well. We have met there small fluffy dog who lives locally and even he was treated like VIP!!!!
Highly recommended place to do the "car business".
