Zweeko vs Godaddy
Zweeko has been a lifesaver for us, I own a web agency in Bakersfield, California and as our client base grew we started running out of resources on our shared hosting plan at Godaddy.
So after doing some research we came to the conclusion we needed a VPS (virtual private server) because this eliminates the running out of resource problem that goes along with shared hosting plan. So after reading all the reviews we came to the conclusion that In-Motion hosting appeared to be the clear winner. So we signed up‚ big mistake.
After 2 days of technical disasters we ran back with open arms to Godaddy. In-Motion has the worst technical support on the planet. We need someone to talk to who knows what their doing because we are a small company that is barely 5 years old. Godaddy is 100 x’s better. So what now? We kept going back and forth between Godaddy and Hostgator but ultimately decided on going with Godaddy to keep everything under one roof‚ another huge mistake.
Godaddys VPS hosting requires that you know how to manage a server and has limited support. We just barely started learning about hosting plans and now you want us to manage our own server? Have you gone mad? They have VPS managed servers but it’s way too expensive and we would have to keep doubling our plan every 20 web sites. We just picked up 8 clients in the past 2 months and don’t want to have to keep changing our plan.
We can always keep our shared hosting at Godaddy and just up our plan but after all this research we want the much faster and cleaner VPS hosting. So what are we to do?
Well thanks to social media while we were hammering InMotion and Godaddy on Twitter with our concerns Katie from Zweeko‚ a hosting company based in London with offices in Chicago reached out to us seeing our frustration being played out on Twitter for all to see. She asked if a sales rep could call us and we said sure‚ we were open to anything at this point.
The company called ZWEEKO is 15 years old but we had never heard of them nor did we come across them while doing our research.
The rep of the company told us she would let us try out their VPS hosting for free to see if we liked it.
We signed up for the $70 a month plan and they promptly reimbursed us. In the back of our mind our team still wanted to stay with Godaddy because it just seemed easier because we know how to navigate their site and we are comfortable there. We don’t have the patience nor time to learn the interface of a new hosting company if we don’t have to.
Zweeko sensing our reservations called us and using the team viewer app went on our computer and showed us how to create accounts‚ install wordpress‚ add domains‚ separate our C-panels‚ and create email accounts. The whole thing took about 15 minutes and we were quite surprised at how easy it was. We were so thrilled we told them to start billing us. We actually wanted to pay because we were so satisfied with the support and now we can offer VPS hosting to all our clients.
They migrated all our clients web sites and email over for free and continue to do so which is a huge relief because this gives us the option to build sites on our domains and then migrate them to our clients for free when they are completed.
The thing we like about Zweeko is when there is a tech problem we don't have to call in and trouble shoot it with some kid making $12 an hour. We simply open a ticket and their team solves it, usually within minutes. We have now been with Zweeko over 3 years and are quite happy. Mark Downing @ Acme Web Design.
