Good, until you need support

I've been with Zyma until 2011, give or take. And as a hosting/email provider they're absolutely fine.

But then it all went down hill when you need support from them.

Firstly, using their one-click install borked both my personal site and my Mum's business site. I tried to install a Ghost blog on my personal site only to discover my Mum's site went down.

After raising a support ticket, they said it was down to a .htaccess file breaking it and implied it was my fault (even though I used a "one-click install" wizard). They fixed the .htaccess problem and everything was fine... until I tried to access my site.

My personal site was down due to a misconfigured .htaccess file. Raising another ticket they flat out told me they can't help me, that .htaccess file problems are beyond their remit and I should find a web developer to help me. I couldn't believe their tone! After using software/resources they provide, they're unable, or unwilling, to offer support for it when it all goes wrong!

The hilarious thing is I am actually a web developer but chose them because I don't want the hassle of setting up my own hosts or configuring anything. That's my day job, don't want to do it in my free time but now I'm doing that as I moved away to use Digital Ocean.

In short; if you get your site working then leave it. Don't do anything. Don't change anything. The bumbling fools won't help you.

I want to give Zyma 0 stars, but I was forced to give 1 star, even though they don't deserve it..

I am so angry with Zyma, and I hope to help as many of you out there to avoid using them as possible. I have had no end of problems with them, and they utterly unhelpful. There's a reason why they're so cheap - it's because they're awful. They don't get back to you when you have problems. They ignore requests put through their ticket system, and then they tell you that the problems are your own fault and that you should hire someone to fix your website.

My site was down for a week due to their complete incompetence. A reader on my website suggested I write an extended review/description of what happened when I used Zyma for my hosting, which can be found on the There's Value site.

Please, please avoid this company like the plague - make sure you choose a web host with an excellent reputation for customer service instead.

Do NOT use. Absolute shambles.

From the beginning I've had nothing but trouble with Zyma. Bandwidth apparently being overloaded or using too many resources even when my site only had an HTML placeholder page.

Emails were consistently down as well as their servers being blacklisted by gmail, hotmail and yahoo which made contacting customers impossible. When asked about a fix I was simply told "...you need to ask the client to add your email address to their address book..." - spot the problem here.

Upon deciding to leave Zyma for a better host and contacting them to give them notice, my account was immediately shut down with little to no help and a horrible "Account Suspended" site replacing mine. I had no access to emails which made moving a .com domain impossible.

After a painful process of support tickets not being answered, I had to log out and try the online chat tool to get a reply. There was only one person working that day and I was told to "come back on Monday" as there would be more people working. Not very helpful when your business website has a placeholder that makes you look like you've done something unspeakable and no access to emails.

To top it all off, my friend who moved away from Zyma and gave them a bad review on this website received an offensive email in return. I came to this site to read the review and much to my surprise, found a FAKE Trust Pilot review written supposedly by me!!!

The only person in the office that day was a gentleman called "Scott" so I'd love an explanation as to why he thought it wise to firstly send my friend an email swearing at him and also why a fake review was written on my behalf?

Avoid at all costs. Shocking hosting provider.

Best people for hosting web sites

Zyma offers one of the best hosting envrioments with fair price. I have contacted their customer support and it is absolutely proffesional and fast.

It seems that many people judge too quickly, in my experience they have delivered everything that I asked of them. I have no hesitations in recommending them.

Not recommended!!

I used Zyma.com due to their low prices to host my website about a festival. During the first months while the site barely received any visitors, everything was going OK except for the sloppy customer service, where only a part of my questions were answered whenever I tried to contact them.

The problems started after when I placed an ad to my Facebook event to get people to vote on a poll on my site. Suddenly, Zyma.com suspended my account for no reason. I contacted them via the online chat and they told me my site was receving too many connections and that I need to upgrade to a semi dedicated plan. Instead of apologising for the issue, they were blaming me and rude, claiming my site was receiving over 1500 simultaneous connections every second, telling me that there is a maximum of 100 simultaneous connections on this current plan.

Just to get the facts straight, based on my Google Analytics reports my site receives around 200 pageviews per day and when my account was suspended, the site hadn't even reached a total of 1500 users so far!!!

By the way, their ad says the £2.49 has UNLIMITED traffic and there is no mention about a limitation on the amount of connections. After I went through their whole website, there is no mention of this "maximum of 100 connections" anywhere in their terms and conditions.

I recommend staying far away from these crooks! I have now switched to another host and won't be using Zyma again.

Absolute Shysters!

I ordered hosting from Zyma only to realise their service did not meet my needs. I would have to pay extra for what I needed. With some effort to get a clear answer, Zyma agreed to a refund on 15th August, well within their 30 day money back period. I was told it would take a further 30 days to get the refund into my account. That never came.

I had also paid for the domain I planned to use with the hosting to be transferred to Zyma for an extra £10 a few days after ordering the hosting. After realising the hosting was not appropriate I asked to have the domain transferred over to another company that I trust.

At the beginning of October I attempted to contact Zyma again to find out why I hadn't received the refund, I ended up having to phone them to get a clear answer. Apparently they were holding the money until the associated hosting domain could be transferred over to the other company, as I had requested. There was no email telling me I would have to wait longer for this refund, nothing. I was told I would have to wait until the end of November(!!) to get the refund.

Today I found out the domain in question was available for sale!! I had to buy back my domain, this time with a company I trust, but it means that the domain transfer I had paid for was a farce.

STAY AWAY FROM ZYMA!!! They appear to be only two guys Asif and Moe operating the company. Most probably a reseller hosting thing. They are slow to respond to questions and seem incapable of answering more than one question at a time (don’t send them two questions in an email, god forbid!).

Absolutely unprofessional and a complete headache to talk to. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!

Update: Thankfully all my payments went through PayPal, so I opened a claim and received all the money back in less than a week after making the claim. Thank goodness for PayPal.

Unacceptable

I have created my first Zyma account in the beginning of 2011. Since then I had so many problems, that now I feel I have to warn others.

The price is cheap, but that is what you get - cheap service. I am not talking about the customer service, they are somewhat fast to reply at least. I am talking of their attitude towards customers.

First, after using the service for over half a year, one day I was asked to pack my files and leave. Why, you ask? I don't know. This is what I was told:

'Your website was suspended for sending too many IP connections to the server.'
'.. is not deemed suitable for a shared hosting environment, so we therefore kindly request that you move your account elsewhere.
If you need a backup of your account, let us know and we'll send you the download link.'

So I packed my stuff and left. No refund, of course.

Then I have tried to renew my other Domain name with .ME ending. It was always £14.95 GBP per year, and one day it became 40£ per year, while other providers offer similar to the previous £14.95! Now I have to pay £40 or pay extra to migrate my Domain name.

To all of this, every single time I want to change my Nameservers, or Domain name Forwarding, I have to contact the customer service as otherwise I can try doing this using their web interface with no luck again and again.

To renew a domain only (and not the hosting). You have to contact the customer service again, since there is no such option, and all this takes time of course.

There are multiple tickets I had raised in those years and I am enough of this.

You get what you pay - cheap.

Absolutely terrible

I'm not sure if the positive reviews are real...or lucky but I found Zyma to be absolutely shocking in every department. And the worst thing is I didn't even end up getting to test there hosting out, All the problems occurred before this even got underway! They messed up my initial order to begin with, not registering the domain I asked, so I tried to contact them using their 24/7 customer service phone line...and found that 24/7 there was no answer or response to my messages.

From here things went from bad....to awful and to cut a long story short I lost over £40 from these cowboys (money back gurantee is a lie btw). I should have read more reviews online to be fair if you look around on Google and type in Zyma.com reviews you will soon see what I mean, seems like this company has screwed over more then it's fair share. In closing I would just say this....if you want a professional service, that has easy communication and is customer focussed...STAY WELL CLEAR OF ZYMA!

I know their cheap prices are tempting but this is a classic example of how too good to be true. And as things generally do one inevatibky go wrong from time to time this is not the kind of service you'd want to be trusting to be supportive or helpful.

I have since gone with one of the bigger albeit more expensive hosting companies and from day one the service has been impeccable....lesson learned!

Great Deal and Service

I've been hosting my website with Zyma now for a few months and I haven't had any issues. The site is running smoothly and reliably. Also the price was amazing, perfect for someone with a tight budget.
