pleasant on the phone, but ultimately unhelpful.

Bought headphones online on release in mid september and with hardly any use, the case for them has died. well known issue online if googled and very well documented that the repairability of these headphones is zero (Apple Airpods pro 3rd gen) yet when calling up and enquiring about this, the only option is sending them off to be repaired which can take up to 28 working days (6 weeks) to be fixed and not even picked up for a week. So almost two months without my headphones and knowing that these cannot be repaired, I would be getting a replacement for these anyway, but cant just walk in to a store and get a replacement, have to go through a ridiculously unnecessary two month process to get a working pair of headphones back.

I’m still subscribed, I don’t know why I bother

The bulk of these five star reviews seem to be about their sales people and from the customer support about doing the initial setting up of the system, and not actually about what matters most

Alarm systems are like security, you hope you never need to use it, but you’re happy to have it when you do.

Well, my experience of what happens When an alarm actually triggers has been pretty abysmal.

I was on holiday in August and had an alert on my phone that my alarm had gone off at home. Immediately, I opened the app to see more information and then a few minutes later someone from SimpliSafe called me to notify me that my alarm was going off. Knowing that I subscribe to their premium plan and what comes with it, I asked for someone to go and visit my home to give it a visual inspection which is part of the premium plan (“Emergency dispatch” is what they quote). The person on the other end of the phone either seemed confused as to why I was asking this, or it was a massive inconvenience for him to actually do anything more than the bare minimum of making a single phone call. He seemed either unsure or not bothered about my request. He said he would put this request in, but nothing was ever done about it.

I had no follow-up called about the emergency dispatches findings, or anything whatsoever to suggest they had actually gone and visited my home. I suspect they did nothing about it. I had to ask my neighbour to check instead, and luckily everything was fine. I suspect one of the sensors had gone off in error as nothing was out of place where I returned from my holiday.

I’m still subscribed to the premium plan for “peace of mind” and “reassurance” but I don’t know if SimpliSafe will bring either of those to the table after this.

Now 5 star

In two minds whether to rate this 4 or 5 as I’m getting a quality service, BUT only after applying a fix on my router.

Have signed up for the OFNL 360/180. Activation on 19/09 switching over from my previous OFNL ISP was a breeze. Entered in my username and password and was working straight away. Speeds are consistent with what OFNL state my line is capable of (they claim 360/72 so had to go with the internetty 360/180 as they didn’t have a package that more closely resembled what my line maxes out at) when running speed tests.

Where things get questionable is the time is takes for web pages lookups to take place. Anywhere between 5 and 10 seconds of”spinning” before the pages start to load. Their DNS is atrocious. The quick fix however is to use 3rd party DNS and add this into my router settings to use this instead. After this, pages are loading near on instantaneously.

Am I being too harsh giving this only 4 stars when a fix on my side took about 20 seconds to implement? Maybe. But a 5* service wouldn’t have needed any intervention from me in the first place

EDIT: downgrading this to 1 star as have noticed that InternetTY use carrrier grade NAT (CGNAT) which is affecting my overall experience. was not aware of this before signing up.

EDIT2: back up to 4 star and above. There was an option to choose a static IP when purchasing which removes CGNAT when checking out, which I did not see. Would have been nice to not have to purchase a static NAT and just be given a DHCP IP address which my old OFNL ISP provided, but hey ho. 5 star now as have removed the manual DNS fix from my router and still seems very quick, which it wasn’t when I was first connected.

The gym that I go to has only been open…

The gym that I go to has only been open a year and a half approximately so all equipment is still in good condition. The men’s changing rooms though smell rotten, one sink doesn’t work and the flavoured water regularly runs out and takes a long time before it gets refilled.

Unnecessarily long collection process

Unnecessarily long collection process. I ordered common items that are in abundance on the shelf so that I could get extra money off when using codes through their app however instead of someone just taking the items off the shelf like many other retailers do and I could collect a few hours later, had to wait a week for the items to be sent in to the store presumably from their warehouse.

Sent them two pristine condition phones…

Sent them two pristine condition phones and they paid out exactly what they stated they would do. Didn’t try to falsely mark them down like I’m convinced other companies do. Emailed at 11am that they had received my phones. Processed email at 12.30pm. Payment email at 4.30pm and in my account before 6pm. They were the highest paying company for my phones out of all of them and would have probably been the easiest out of all of them too.

no-nonsense quoting and paying

after being conned by another company's lowballing techniques and getting my phone back off of them, i found Sell my Phone on the mobile comparison sites and they were now offering higher than my previous quotes, so i went forward with them. I categorised it fairly and sent it off to them and they received it the next day (Tuesday). they messaged saying they had received and on Thursday morning they messaged saying they had finished processing my device and will be paid within 24 hours, and received it that evening. Will gladly use again.

oh how the times have changed...

oh how the times have changed...

in the space of a year since when I sold my phone to them last, something has gone downhill.... and its either their greed or quality of inspectors.

I sent a pristine phone to them which was valued at £721 including voucher code increases and increases for agreeing to sign up to receiving dodgy emails about mcafee antivirus. My phone has never been outside of its case and has always had a screen protector on it and has never even been dropped in the case let alone out of it. I was emailed stating I have a revised offer of £590 so promptly declined the offer by email. they included a video of the suposed marks on the bezel which can be clearly seen that is simply dirt that has gotten through the case (my fault for not taking it out and cleaning it before sending it to them) I then called to ask if they could wipe it at the bottom and re-assess it, but apparently they already do this and it has permanent marks. According to the man on the phone who picked up, a clear soft gel case can leave permanent damage on a phone and what i am looking at in the video is that and not simply dirt...... try and work that one out because I cant?

they gave me a higher revised offer and i still declined as their revised lowball offer is still £90 less than what other companies are offering so will send it to someone else that hopefully won't try and price gauge you.

Ignoring support emails

Seems that Shpock are now ignoring all of my emails so this is the only place it seems they bother replying, which in itself speaks volumes about the company.

Following on from my previous one star review (like the majority of reviews for Shpock) where they said they are “looking into possible solutions” for their own mistake, they are now ignoring me and not doing the right thing to correct their own error by crediting me with what I am owed by them. Their “solution” was to ask the buyer to arrange a payment outside of Shpock (completely what they do not recommend doing) which hasn’t worked as the buyer is not responding and now Shpock are refusing to do the right thing and to pay for their own mistake by crediting my account with the money I am owed.

Looks like every time I need to message them to chase payment im owed needs to be via a 1 star review here……

Good until there’s a dispute…

Sold an item and sent it which got lost by the courier. A dispute was raised with Shpock and then the courier delivered the item. Shpock “resolved” the dispute by refunding the money to the buyer in their own error even though they could see it had been delivered and had been ignoring me for days for requests for them to reverse the refund and send me the funds which I am owed. They are not taking any accountability for their own mistake, but are now finally doing something, but are asking the buyer to get back in contact with me to arrange a payment but why would he now bother replying?? He now has my item and my money through Shpocks own fault which they’ve admitted to me and they’re doing nothing to resolve.

great (but a tad slow)

went with webuyanyphone as the reviews looked good and they were paying out the most out of all the other companies. they offered a free delivery sevice but ended up paying myself as their CS representative told me its fully insured for loss but not for damage (would only be £100 if damaged in transit). sent it to them and had to chase them up to make sure they had received it. they are probably swamped this time of the year with everyone sending in their old iphones. gave them the royal mail tracking number and showed it had been received by them yesterday, and they then confirmed they had received it and it was in their queue to be processed. processed the next day at the full price given (although their text message they sent to me said i would be getting £10 less, another message to their CS informed me i would indeed be getting the full price). can only contact them by message/email, no phone number. their payment advisory said up to 5 days but got it in my account that evening!

overall a very good service. a bit on the slow side responding to messages and processing phones that have arrived. my phone had lived in a case with a tempered glass screen protector for its life and they paid me the full amount they said they would. so everyone saying they sent a pristine phone but it got downgraded.... be honest.... you probably didnt.

would happily use again.

Excellent products and great customer service

Bought a personalised toy storage bag for my daughter but the courier delivered it to the wrong address (bad Hermes!!) and when I went to collect it it had disappeared. I messaged My 1st Years customer service on Saturday evening expecting it to not be looked at until Monday but they not only answered on the weekend, but rearranged an expedited replacement and it arrived Tuesday afternoon! So happy with the customer service of My 1st Years and their quality of products. Will definitely be ordering again!

Quick and easy but with issues

Quick and easy but with issues.

Dropped off in store and item was taken but no receipt given. When questioned I was told “this paper provides you’ve dropped it off” but they kept the paper and didn’t give me a copy so I had nothing. They then said I would receive an email but didn’t. Phone number for the branch had a brief message and then dropped the call, never given the option of speaking to someone. Took a message to CeX through their fb page for them to contact the store and get me a proof of drop off.

Got paid very quickly and no hitches or issues other than the proof of drop off.

paid out the price they quoted no questions asked. took about 5 days for them to receive it using their own royal mail posting service which is the only downside. I would have sent it by special delivery myself if they would have been upfront about the delivery time for them to receive it using their own service.

but all in all, still 5 stars as their service is top notch and they were the highest paying company for my old iPhone 12 Pro.
