Review of Tything Barn Naturist…
Review of Tything Barn Naturist Campsite, Wales
Tything Barn Naturist Campsite in Wales presents itself as a naturist retreat but falls short of expectations in several key areas, making it a disappointing choice for those seeking a relaxing and enjoyable naturist experience.
Location:
While the campsite is situated in a scenic part of Wales with stunning surroundings, some issues remain. The beauty of the location is marred by noise from a nearby quarry, which can disrupt the peace and tranquility at times.
Facilities:
The facilities at Tything Barn are basic and often poorly maintained. Showers and toilets are frequently dirty and in need of repair, which detracts from guests' comfort. There is also an unusual restriction on vehicle movement before 10 am, enforced by the onsite managers. Attempts to find a compromise were met with resistance and unwarranted hostility, creating unnecessary tension for guests needing early departures or who have early outings planned.
Atmosphere:
Despite claims of a welcoming and inclusive environment, the atmosphere at Tything Barn can feel awkward and unwelcoming at times. There is a noticeable lack of community spirit among some staff members, notably Dan, one of the onsite managers. The campsite fails to foster a sense of camaraderie or organize engaging activities for guests, which is disappointing for a campsite operating in 2024, where one would expect the very basic of facilities such as clean and serviceable toilets and showers.
Activities:
The campsite fails to deliver on its promise of enriching activities. Apart from sporadic invitations to poorly maintained clubhouse parties hosted by other guests, there are no organized events or structured recreational opportunities. Guests are left with little to do besides lounging around their designated pitches or gathering around a basic campfire.
Hospitality:
The hospitality at Tything Barn is inconsistent and often unprofessional, particularly from certain staff members like Dan. However, Fran was notably polite, calm, and collected. Guests may encounter indifference or unresponsiveness when seeking assistance or addressing concerns about facilities. This lack of professionalism detracts significantly from the overall guest experience.
Conclusion:
Overall, Tything Barn Naturist Campsite falls short of its promise to provide a relaxing and enjoyable naturist retreat in Wales. The management's uncooperative stance on simple guest requests and the subpar facilities contribute to a stressful and disappointing stay. For those seeking a true naturist experience with better amenities and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere, exploring other options would be advisable.
Improvement Suggestions:
We hope the points raised in this review can be addressed for future seasons. Enhancing the guest experience with more planned events and activities, and ensuring a more welcoming and professional atmosphere would greatly benefit the campsite.
By the way, we've used a friend's review account to send this review because we're aware of how hostile Dan (the site manager) can be, as we've seen from other review responses and our own experience with him. We simply don't have the time or patience to deal with any potential backlash or ranting from Dan regarding this review or through other channels. This detailed feedback is provided so that necessary improvements can be made to the aspects we've highlighted. Perhaps in the future, we may consider returning for a day trip to see if any of the points we've raised have been addressed.
We sincerely hope these suggestions are taken constructively.
All the best.
