An absolutely Fantastic Place - with great Management

I have been a holiday maker at Tything Barn for many many years. It’s a perfect escape back to nature. In all of the years I have been coming thankfully it has not been spoilt by commercialism. It’s got the basic requirements that anybody would need.
I wouldn’t expect, need or want the facilities to be any different.
The grounds are vast and beautifully kept by the fabulous current managers Dan and Fran. Who take a pride in its up-keeping and aim to make time spent here very special.
Dan and Fran go out of their way to help anyone at any time.
I have seen others leave negative reviews about Tything Barn but my personal experience has always been very positive.
Over the years I have seen lots of change in management and style and Dan and Fran are ideally suited to run this wonderful place.
There is no where else like it.
I come back year after year for the perfect break.
If you are looking for bars, entertainment and an on site shop this is not the place for you.
If you want to be at one with nature, swim in the lagoons and the estuary, kayak on the Cleddau, be able to freely walk around in what ever you want to wear or not wear. If you like peace and quiet and enjoy meeting other like minded people then this IS the place for you.
Since Dan and Fran have been managing Tything Barn they have all of the necessary safeguards in place to ensure they know who is on site at any time. I have never felt unsafe with these safe guards in place.
All I can say is come with an open mind, experience the place for yourself and make your own mind up.
Its location is ideally situated for visiting many of the special beaches and other attractions in and around Pembrokeshire.
I can personally highly recommend Tything Barn.

Review of Tything Barn Naturist…

Review of Tything Barn Naturist Campsite, Wales

Tything Barn Naturist Campsite in Wales presents itself as a naturist retreat but falls short of expectations in several key areas, making it a disappointing choice for those seeking a relaxing and enjoyable naturist experience.

Location:
While the campsite is situated in a scenic part of Wales with stunning surroundings, some issues remain. The beauty of the location is marred by noise from a nearby quarry, which can disrupt the peace and tranquility at times.

Facilities:
The facilities at Tything Barn are basic and often poorly maintained. Showers and toilets are frequently dirty and in need of repair, which detracts from guests' comfort. There is also an unusual restriction on vehicle movement before 10 am, enforced by the onsite managers. Attempts to find a compromise were met with resistance and unwarranted hostility, creating unnecessary tension for guests needing early departures or who have early outings planned.

Atmosphere:
Despite claims of a welcoming and inclusive environment, the atmosphere at Tything Barn can feel awkward and unwelcoming at times. There is a noticeable lack of community spirit among some staff members, notably Dan, one of the onsite managers. The campsite fails to foster a sense of camaraderie or organize engaging activities for guests, which is disappointing for a campsite operating in 2024, where one would expect the very basic of facilities such as clean and serviceable toilets and showers.

Activities:
The campsite fails to deliver on its promise of enriching activities. Apart from sporadic invitations to poorly maintained clubhouse parties hosted by other guests, there are no organized events or structured recreational opportunities. Guests are left with little to do besides lounging around their designated pitches or gathering around a basic campfire.

Hospitality:
The hospitality at Tything Barn is inconsistent and often unprofessional, particularly from certain staff members like Dan. However, Fran was notably polite, calm, and collected. Guests may encounter indifference or unresponsiveness when seeking assistance or addressing concerns about facilities. This lack of professionalism detracts significantly from the overall guest experience.

Conclusion:
Overall, Tything Barn Naturist Campsite falls short of its promise to provide a relaxing and enjoyable naturist retreat in Wales. The management's uncooperative stance on simple guest requests and the subpar facilities contribute to a stressful and disappointing stay. For those seeking a true naturist experience with better amenities and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere, exploring other options would be advisable.

Improvement Suggestions:
We hope the points raised in this review can be addressed for future seasons. Enhancing the guest experience with more planned events and activities, and ensuring a more welcoming and professional atmosphere would greatly benefit the campsite.

By the way, we've used a friend's review account to send this review because we're aware of how hostile Dan (the site manager) can be, as we've seen from other review responses and our own experience with him. We simply don't have the time or patience to deal with any potential backlash or ranting from Dan regarding this review or through other channels. This detailed feedback is provided so that necessary improvements can be made to the aspects we've highlighted. Perhaps in the future, we may consider returning for a day trip to see if any of the points we've raised have been addressed.

We sincerely hope these suggestions are taken constructively.

All the best.

Wonderful place

Can't fault Tything barn. It is a truly wonderful place. Dan and Fran are lovely and approachable about anything. They are both fully committed to ensuring your stay is as enjoyable as it can be. The walks around the 20 odd acres are breathtaking. Myself and my wife feel we have found a kind of spiritual home. We started visiting last year and have been back around 8 times and hope we're able to return many more times. The earlier reviewer who was damning to Dan, should have spoken to him as he is totally approachable and will do anything in his power to resolve any issues you have. I feel that was too personal an attack to be posted on a review site, it should have been resolved in person, one to one. We cannot agree with anything that was said.

Well what can me and my family say…

Well what can me and my family say about this wonderful place. Well let’s start by saying Tything Barn is one of the most beautiful places on earth if you’re into the “back to nature” experience. Myself, my wife and our 10 year old son Harvey absolutely love Tything and each and everyone who makes the place what it has been and continues to be. I could put names out there, but there are just too many names to mention. Next comes the people who manage Tything. Dan and Fran are the most amazing, caring and understanding people I’ve ever seen working in what is a super stressful industry. Without going into too much detail, as I and my family love and respect them hugely. I think people like Dan and Fran are rare and special they and others like them make our world a wonderful place. They put on a super brave face everyday even when (like is all) we have bad days and good days. Even then after how stressed they must feel each and every day. It has to be said I’m not too sure I could be as brave as they are! From our hearts into your home “and yes, Tything Barn is Dan and Frans home, as much as it is their workplace” and guys you are so so strong beautiful people with hearts of pure gold, even bigger than the keyboard warrior who gave (a really shockingly bad not to mention fake review) if you had just approached ether Dan or Fran with your issues, I’m sure they would of appreciated that so much more, and just given both sides a chance to have had to talk it through. But I guess you will always get one who you can not please. Yes, I agree people are entitled to their own opinions. However, what was said recently by this Sue (if that person is even a real person) really has deeply upset us as a family by what we read. Because we have seen two honest people trying to graft and work to earn an honest and hard working income not to mention secure the future of Tything Barn that every one knows and loves. Anyone who truly knows them would have experienced how wonderful this couple really are. Dan and Fran have put their entire life, soul, blood, sweat and tears into Tything. Remain strong Dan and Fran we love you Tything.

Tything Barn, outstading Naturist retreat

I have been using Tything Barn for over 20 years now. Dan and Fran have done a fantastic job keeping the facilities up to par. Some visitors come to TB expecting it to be party central. whilst we all party from time to time, it must be remembered that TB is primarily a Naturist retreat site. I have witnessed several incidences over the years where clashes have occured between the site management and visitors that are determined to party noisely at the expense of other visitors.
Dan and Fran are doing an outstanding job, running TB is as much a labour of love as it is a business.
Nobodys getting wealthy managing TB, so, I for one am grateful. Keep up the good work Dan and Fran.

Glorious place. Heaven on earth

Don't know what a previous reviewer was talking about, as we have found the owners, both Fran and Dan to be absolutely lovely in their warm welcome and friendliness. The site is gorgeous - beautiful, peaceful, and with all the amenities one needs to have a glorious back-to-nature break. Thank you Fran and Dan - I hope we'll be back x
