MPOS device. Disconnects, App is awful, lost money.

We purchased the MPOS devices as we are on a budget. The devices were for a small festival and were to be used at the bar. First of all, the devices struggle to remain connected to the phones. We tried 5 different phones to try and get them to work. They constantly disconnected and required me, as the director, to keep supplying authentication codes to get the devices connected again.

The APP is AWFUL. There are NO product options, no way of tracking stock. It's just a price input system. I have never seen such a bare bones, unfinished looking application for a payment point. We have no idea how much we sold of what, because we had no way of tracking it. Every payment application should have options to select which product(s) are being sold and how much each item is. We had no way of knowing the application was going to be this dire when we applied for the devices.

The payments didn't go through very often and the application mislead our bar team. If a payment is declined, the machine will still beep and the phone shows a tick. In our fast paced environment, our bar team assumed this to be a confirmed payment. We have lots out on HUNDREDS of pounds because of this. We are quite sure this is because the device is constantly having connectivity issues.

We are currently lodging an official complaint and hope that we can have some form of resolution.

I can see that a formal complaint has been raised and I have also passed on your comments to our complaints team to add to the log.

Regarding your feedback points - The MPOS device does have multiple ways to connect to a mobile device, which can be through either using Bluetooth through a smartphone, Wi-Fi, or 4G for when Wi-Fi won't reach, so this is frustrating to hear that there were connectivity issues.

Regarding itemised purchases, we do have other products that would cater for this requirement such as our Clover devices that you can add inventories onto the device and view this information directly from the terminal device or on the Clover Dashboard when logging on through a Laptop/tablet etc, if this is something you require, our teams would be happy to assist with.
