Repaired 7 yr old Sony camera said to be unrepairable by their own recommended service companies

We have a 7 yr old very small touch screen Sony digital camera which was particularly convenient, being so small. I dropped it. I called Sony's repair centre, they couldn't repair it. It then went to their recommended 2nd line repair firm, who to be fair didn't charge, but it cost £30 in postage to get it there and back - they said it was unrepairable. Assuming at 7 years we had lost it, I nonetheless searched around on Google and found 1st Aid, and filled in their web form describing the drop. They came back very quickly with a diagnosis (new screen needed) and a quote. In slight disbelief, fearing a possible bamboozling, we sent it to them. But it was true! They repaired it beautifully, using Sony parts, and once ready agreed also to give it a service which they did really quickly and sent it back immediately. I cannot understand why 1st Aid is not Sony's recommended repairer! In the meantime we had bought a new Sony camera, pretty much same spec as old one, so their least expensive. It is a bit bigger and heavier, and the colours it takes are often rather strange. So we are absolutely delighted to have found 1st Aid and to have our old camera back. We cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you everyone at 1st Aid very much indeed.

I was blown away with the service this…

I was blown away with the service this company provided, emailed about an issue I had with my go pro which needed a repair. Prompt response, followed by email requesting photos. This company could have easily asked me to send in repair and charge me and I would have be en non the wiser. Instead he called me, sent me a you tube video on how to do it as it wasn’t broker. There was method to repair / slot back in the door frame to the device and it was done. Extremely helpful and extremely kind. First class customer service and with no cost involved they really didn’t need to do anything. They did and it was extremely refreshing. Top company ✅

Simple and professional service. Thanks!

Straight forward booking service and despite the lockdown a fair and professional turnaround. My Nikon D800 took a tumble in a jeep in Sri Lanka and these guys replaced the screen for me with no fuss. Good communication throughout. Highly recommend.

Prompt and helpful service

Prompt and helpful service and I now have my Panasonic Lumix TZ-70 back as new, having foolishly allowed the sand of Socotra into the lens. So good to have the zoom - mobile phones are good for lots of things but not taking pictures of birds! Thanks guys.

Canon 70d plus 75-300 zoom

I had my Canon 70D and 75-300 zoom serviced and repaired. The service was excellent. Items were returned by courier. Price was perfectly reasonable. Explanation of all work done was crystal clear including what couldn't be completed due to it not being economical.
It has been a pleasure dealing with professional people who put service first and foremost.
I have no hesitation in recommending 1staidrepairs.

Excellent service from First Aid…

Excellent service from First Aid Repairs for my Sony cyber shot. They gave me a quote for fixing the problem by return email. I sent my camera by post and they emailed me the next day to let me know it had arrived. The repair was done within the stated 10 days and I was informed by phone and email it was being returned to me. The camera was returned very well packaged. I would definitely use them again.

Pentax K50 Repair

When I discovered that the fault with the aperture control mechanism in my 4 year old Pentax K50 DSLR is a common one that Ricoh know about I was less than impressed. However, after an online search I decided to give 1st Aid Repairs my business to repair it. I have to say that I am very impressed with the customer service from start to finish. They gave me a very quick estimate on the repair cost which was extremely comparable with others repair centres and they stuck to that cost for the final bill. The repair was completed within their projected time frame of 10 to 15 working days - my camera was repaired within 9 days and was sent back by next day delivery all part of the upfront cost. If my camera were to develop any other faults (I hope not!) I would not hesitate to send it back to 1st Aid Repairs. Overall, I am an extremely satisfied customer.

Great job

Fixed my camera there and back in a week.
Everyone locally quoted silly money tried to sell me another. I was going to bin it but why should I. Huge thank you to 1staid repairs you made my day.

A real business who care about their customers

I've used 1st Aid Repairs for several jobs now and will continue to do so in the future. Both my Canon EOS 7d and 450d are dropped in yearly for cleaning and service, as well as a hot shoe repair on the 7d.

They've always provided quick, efficient, and courteous service. It's been great to deal with a real business who care about their work and customers
