Ford focus
I recently brought a Ford focus from A1 carriages. Received a professional service from Chris who was very helpful without being pushy. Have had my car almost a month now and loving it. My previous car was brought from this dealer and lasted me 18 years without any major works on the car and that's why i choose to buy my recent car from them. Would highly recommend A1 carriages 100%
Avoid
Wish I hadn't bought from here, dishonest about service history, no petrol in car when purchased, no explanation about any of the workings of the car, car has a fault and hasnt been fixed, now need to sell before the summer when it breaks down and been offered peanuts because it doesnt have a service history.
The sales persons fakes everything
The sales persons fakes everything for you to buy your car. I brought Nissan quashqai from them during September 2022 and the sales person told that with additional warranty, we can even claim everything if anything goes wrong including all rubber parts like tyres, brakes, wiper blades etc. Now within the warranty period when I wanted to change tyres and checked with them about claim, they told me that they aren't covered. So don't believe the sales person, always ask for documentation for all his fake promises.
Awful dealer
I bought a car from here for £5000. Initially I thought they were genuine and they fixed a minor fault with the car, however the car began showing issues with the clutch and dmf. Car vibrated badly at idle and shock when at 60 mph. 5 returns to the dealer and each time they denied any issues, even when fords inspected the car and said there was. Then to be told by the dealer “ what do you expect for a £5000 car “. Typical dealer, not interested once they have your money
Stay aware - The worst experience of buying a…
We had the worst experience of buying a car from A1 Carriages (Car Sales) Ltd. We chose a car through Autotrader and contacted them for delivering the car to our address. The car was for sale at a price lower than the market average for the model. However, owing to a higher than average mileage for the car's age, we thought it to be the reason of the lower price. The car wouldn't accelerate as it should on first driving it.
Having completely trusted the dealer to inform us of any negatives (which they didn't) and saying it was a matter of getting used to the car (which I know very well, having driven both manual and automatic cars for 20 years now). We got the car checked (during our 14 days return window) to find out that it had a broken clutch and would cost £2500 or even more.
To cut it short, never trust a dealer unless you drive the car yourself or know them for years. We learnt our lesson after having to loose the delivery cost to and from our house. Wish we had relied on the negative comments about them posted already on trustpilot.
Worst car dealership I have ever come…
Worst car dealership I have ever come across!
I got a car from here. Only two months into having the car, a warning light came on saying pressure stop the vehicle. After being advised not to drive the car, they said they would fix it.
The could only fit the car in on the 4th July. I communicated this issue on the 19th of June.
The car still hasn’t been fixed and I’ve been without a car, with a baby under the age of one!
No courtesy offered at all, as they do not do them.
Now to be told the car will take another week to fix and they need to strip it down.
I am so angry!
Stay away
I bought a car in good faith from these people and a day after I bought it I could hear a worrying noise coming from the engine so I took it back to A1 but was told that it was normal and the car was fine. Two days later the car broke down. The car had to be towed to a dealership which took 2 weeks for them to arrange and a further week for the car to be repaired, In the meantime I had to hire a car to get to and from work which cost me just under £1000 for the 3 weeks. A1 carriages did not want to know and refused to help me with the cost even though I had just bought it from them and it was clearly defective when I purchased it. I sent emails and left numerous messages but did not get one response back!!!! Be warned
Excellent Service
Excellent customer service, spoke to Chris, and was very helpful in helping me choose my first car, didn't pressure at all, and allowed me to look at my own pace with no rush. He was also very understanding with my 1000 questions, would definitely recommend using this dealership and will be recommending to family and friends in the future. Top Tier!!!
Professional and friendly service…highly recommended.
I recently brought a red fiesta from A1 carriages and received excellent service from Chris the moment I enquired about the car all the way to picking it up. The whole process was handled in a professional, friendly manor and he made the whole process smooth sailing. I’ve had my car just over a week now and absolutely loving it. A really lovely honest company and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a friend. Thanks again to Chris and everyone else at A1 carriages!
Scam
I wish I could give zero stars to this car sales company. Bought a overly priced car which is having serious issues from Day 1 but they don't even listen to. Never trust the these people and beware.
Bought a car from this dodgy dealer…
Bought a car from this dodgy dealer back in October 2021. BMW 1-Series. Rear differential and axle needed to be either replaced or repaired. After over a MONTH of driving there and back, trying to speak to the useless need to retire garage “manager” it finally was booked in to be rectified by a very professional and reliable transmission specialist garage. Meanwhile during this time the thermostat housing unit broke and was told by ALAN it would be sorted alongside the issue with the rear differential problem. The transmission garage weren’t specialised In this repair and fell on the responsibility of A1 carriages to repair/replace. Still under warranty at the time ALAN DENIED I EVER spoke to him about it, told me my warranty of 3 months has now expired and it’s my word AGAINST HIS apparently!!!!!!! Disgusting customer service, constantly being told he is so busy he has a lot of vehicles on his books and it’s terrible trying to get through on the phone constantly engaged. The man needs to retire. He obviously cannot deal with the work load and I’ve been sold a dodgy motor. I’m sure trading standards will be interested to hear of this case as the repair/replacement work for the thermostat housing I’ve been quoted by another garage local to me £300. DO NOT BUT FROM THIS DEALER!!!!!!!!!! It’s apparent they are NOT a reliable competent dealer but a back street Del Boy.
Awful experience
Awful experience. Drove all the way there after ringing them 3 times to make sure car would be ready, car not ready or available to drive, no room to look around it as cars too crammed in, scratches and dents on car and drivers side mirror completely broken. Left after about 5 minutes, surprised it took us that long to leave, complete waste of time.
Top service, lovely people, great car - highly recommended!
Paul was really helpful from start to finish - a nice guy and not at all pushy in any way. Didn't try to sell me something I didn't want. Can't fault the service and love the car so far. Thanks for a great experience Paul and all at A1.
A1 carriages have been fantastic…
A1 carriages have been fantastic throughout my experience of buying a new car. Honest, trustworthy and helpful.
Great Service
We bought our Quashqai from them in Jan and found the whole team to be very professional and honest throughout and dealt with any after sales queries very quickly. I was really impressed with their after sales care, a few other dealers I have dealt with over the years are very hard to speak to once the deal has been done but A1 carriages and Chris in particular were fab with sorting the minor issues we had.
AVOID THIS CAR DEALER!!!
If I could give no stars I would. My advice is to avoid this garage like the plague. We purchased an ex-motability Vauxhall Mokka from here in January 2020 with the useless 3 month warranty. Within weeks it was in for repair of a glow lamp (nothing too terrible) However, after less than 3000 miles and only being used for 7 months a major mechanical fault occurred meaning the entire EGR unit needed repacing at a cost of £1500. This was on a vehicle with only 31000 miles (supposedly) on the clock. Had this been within 6 months we would have legally been able to hand the vehicle back for a full refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Even if we had purchased the equally useless one year warranty this mechanical fault would not have been covered. The garage didn't want to know but last week finally paid £500 towards the cost of repairs. Today the vehicle is again in the garage for replacement of the front wheel bearing at a cost of £245.47. Basically the garage sold a vehicle that was a heap of rubbish and not fit for purpose. We are now pursuing through the small claims court and Trading Standards. Hopefully this review will prevent someone else wasting their money. There are plenty of reputable garages, I suggest you use any one of them instead of this garage.
Highly recommend! 11/10 for service!
Purchased a car here last week and Mark was very helpful and extremely quick with replying to any emails or calls. Test drove Tuesday, ready to collect on the Friday! 11/10 for service! Thank you Mark!
I brought a Vauxhall mokka from here
I brought a Vauxhall mokka from here, very happy and would definitely recommend this place
I bought a 2008 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi…
I bought a 2008 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi from these guys. The buying process was second to none. Admittedly, there was an engine malfunction light when I test drove the vehicle, but that was down to fluid from the Diesel Particulate Filter, which was fixed. Other than that, any problems that I have had with the car (which was only one with the parking sensors), I called them, they arranged a time for me to drop the vehicle off, it was looked at and the part was ordered. Good service considering that I only got the basic warranty with the car. I heard mixed reviews from this place, but for the most part, and especially for me, the service and cars have been fantastic. Good Jobs.
No money no car
Bought a car for £4000 and picked it up Friday afternoon supposedly with a full service and a years mot. On Sunday morning an engine warning light came on so I rung them on Monday, and to be fair they told me to bring it in on the Wednesday but on the way there the light went out and they couldn't find anything. On the Saturday car broke down and I called the rac who found the egr valve to be knackered. Phoned A1 and once again they didn't argue, arranged to have it in and replaced valve, so far 10/10. Have had car back for 2 weeks now and it coughs, stalls and bunny hops when I first start it. A1 now want to charge me hundreds of pounds to find out what's wrong with a car they sold me less than a month ago! I paid an extra £500 for a warranty but apparently it does not cover this. Empty bank account and broken car, cheers guys.
