Ableworld are the largest mobility retailer in the country and believe this is because we genuinely care about our customer’s well-being. We employ professional, caring and knowledgeable staff to work in our stores, and provide quality mobility aids at value for money prices.
We pride ourselves on being an ethical trader who will not pressure sell items and if we feel a product should have an assessment we will not sell these online, as we want to ensure our customers that they are getting the right product for their needs, not just the most expensive mobility aid.
Our stores stock all types of mobility aids, including Mobility Scooters, Walkers, Powerchairs, Bathing Aids and Stairlifts. You can be assured that in all of our stores we provide the same caring approach to looking after our customers, and the same range of quality mobility aids.

We had done quite a bit of research independently and thought we knew roughly what we wanted. We were in the market for two mobility scooters for our parents who are both having a few mobility issues.
We visited the Shrewsbury store and were served by Cathy. Her knowledge of the products was second to none. My Mum and Dad were shown and test drove a few scooters and we're matched to the perfect solution for their needs. We bought two Jolly boot scooters. Nothing was too much trouble for Cathy. She showed us how to de assemble and re assemble. Her patience attentiveness knew no bounds. We were so impressed with the service from all the staff in store it was a very pleasant retail experience. I will return to this store for all our needs in future.

My wife and I went to Ableworld in Shrewsbury yesterday (03/06/25) to view and purchase a mobility scooter that would breakdown to fit into the car boot. We were greeted by Sarah who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the different scooters that we were viewing. There was no sales pressure on ‘this one over that one’, just honest and practical advice as to which scooter would suit us the best. She then took my wife through the practical test drive both inside and outside the shop allowing her to try various manoeuvres to get the feel for comfort and ease of operation. After this, she then very clearly explained and demonstrated the breakdown and re-assemble process for the scooter that we had chosen. Her friendly manner, patience and sense of humour are all a great credit/asset to the store. We have no hesitation of recommending Ableworld – Shrewbury as the disabled goods store to go to.
Thank you, Sarah, for making our purchase an enjoyable shopping experience.

We were on holiday in Shropshire and my mobility scooter collapsed. We went to Ableworld in Shrewsbury last Thursday, May 15th.
It is rare that you get excellent service these days but we certainly got that with Mark, Emma and Cathy. The scooter was fixed and the three of them were so willing to help. Thank you so much. You saved our holiday!

I visited Ableworld Shrewsbury 3 times to choose a mobility scooter for myself. I am a very short person, so selecting the right one for my height was important. My 1st visit I was given information about the scooters by a great salesman. There was no sales pressure. But the information was good and the salesman helpful, so I was happy to return to ableworld. On my 2nd and 3rd visit, I was helped by Sarah. She was outstanding and very patient. She phoned me when one scooter was delivered to the shop. I took a lot of time but she was OK with that and made me feel relaxed about ensuring I made the right decision. She gave me access to a variety of scooters so I could try them for size. She was very knowledgeable about each machine adjusting them as i tried them to get the best possible fit, making it easy for me to choose. My 3rd visit was to select one of 2 possible scooters.
I tested them both, in the shop and outside( several times). Sarah was easy to talk to and gave me good advice while testing them. I am very glad I could test both and was given plenty of time to make my choice and feel confident I was able to use a scooter before buying. Sarah arranged the delivery and all the paperwork quickly, making it easy for me. The shop is clean, well laid out and easy to get round and look at goods. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for Sarah while I was deciding. Excellent shop, plenty of choice, great staff I have no hesitation recommending them. Thanks very much for a great shopping experience.

Went to the Shrewsbury Store initially to enquire about mobility scooters. Mark guided us around the various models clearly explaining pros and cons with expertise. After discussion of mobility needs, suggested I try a mobility chair as well. No pressure to buy. Mark gave us a brochure to look at all the available options.
Returned today and now a happy owner of a Q50 mobility chair and carry case. Thank you Mark.

On March 19 2024, I bought a Wrenbury reclining chair from Ableworld.
From the beginning the chair juddered whilst reclining and I reported this to Ableworld. Six weeks later someone eventually replaced the mechanism to correct the fault but the chair was no better. They insisted it was my fault & that I'd lowered the chair into the wall (though I assured them I never had). They did repeat the procedure, but the fault in the chair remains unchanged.
I would never recommend Ableworld.
Firstly they sold me substandard goods. Secondly they responded very slowly to all my communications & failed to repair or replace it. Thirdly they blamed me for the fault, even though it was present from the outset & has been never altered despite their "repairs".

Really helpful service in the Shrewsbury branch with a promise of a demonstration of the bath aid at our home. Despite the limitations of the Christmas period we were contacted promptly. Two men (apologies, can’t remember their names) came and demonstrated the appliance - no pressure, just helpful, clear and courteous advice. We decided to buy but unfortunately the charger was missing. This was delivered to us later the same day. It’s a difficult moment in life when we have to acknowledge that we need any of the products stocked by Ableworld but the professionalism and pleasant demeanour of those who dealt with us made it much easier. Thank you!

I contacted Ableworld by phone to ensure they stocked the product I wanted. Kathy was very helpful and put aside the product for me to collect. An hour later I arrived to collect it. Kathy was friendly and professional and explained the various parts to me. I could have not wished for better service.
Thoroughly recommend this store.

Fantastic, friendly service from the Shrewsbury team. Third time using this company (on this occasion I bought a mobility scooter) Gavin and James delivered two models for me to try at home (I live in a difficult rural area), they carefully demonstrated each and ensured I was completely comfortable with their use. One of things I like and appreciate about about Abelworld is there is absolutely no pressure to buy, just genuine, thoughtful and helpful advice. Thoroughly recommend.

I went to Shrewsbury store on 23rd march pete & Emma were so helpful guided me in every detail about the best mobility scooter for me, no pressure, made sure I could use it myself - taking apart to fit in the car, driving around car park, brought it home same day. Very happy with my experience.

My mother bought a walker and had it less than 3 weeks before a wheel buckled. Ableworld refused to fix it, or replace it or offer the refund that was asked for. They were rude and belligerent and made up lies about the damage so they could avoid paying a pensioner her money back. Avoid at all costs.
