From the very first moment, Daniel and Abi took great care of our Nan. They maintained an excellent level of care to the point where having an open-casket funeral was optional- she looked lovely.

They took all of our ideas into consideration and spent many hours with us discussing the funeral verbally and through the WhatsApp group created by Daniel.
Abi has such impressive creative skills and incorporated all of our ideas and the many pictures we had provided, creating such a well-structured Order of Service.

I honestly cant express how much i appreciate Daniel and Abi's professionalism and how they made me feel included with the arrangements. They are a friendly team and just genuine people who want to take the stress off the family who are going through a difficult time.

A family friend recommended Abney's Funeral Service and we will have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone else in need of their service.

Following the unexpected death of our Mum my sister rang around a number of funeral directors in the bereavement booklet given to us by the hospital. Money was an issue and we were looking for a respectful but economical funeral. My sister was less than impressed by the national companies and I suggested she call Abney Funeral Services as I had just driven past them and they were only located up the road from where Mum lived. Well, what can we say, from the outset Daniel and his team were thoughtful, utterly respectful, and mindful of our financial situation and they helped up draw together a funeral that you would never have known cost was an issue. Daniel presented an air of calmness, he was utterly professional and was at all times open to us visiting Mum whilst she was in his care. On the day his team were just fantastic, even agreeing to my mum's little dog travelling in the car to the crematorium with us. Whilst I hope that I will not need to arrange a funeral again anytime soon, if I did, I would have no hesitation in using their services again. I sincerely cannot recommend Abney Funeral Services highly enough.

I highly recommend Abney funeral services after speaking to Daniel I knew that everything was going be fine. I asked him if this was a one stop shop and he replied "yes" I was so happy to hear that as I was at a standstill didn't know what to do as this was my first time organising a funeral and Daniel just took away all my stress.

The saddest loss of my dear Sis Claire was sudden and unexpected and hit me harder than a shock from my defibrillator. This is massive in terms of personal loss as I became uncontrollable in my grief. The first time I met Daniel at Abney he gave a warmth and empathetic vibe which put me at ease in his company even though I was devastated at losing my big sister and my sense of loss was worsened by watching the pain and sorrow of my nephew, Claire’s only son. Daniel seemed to emit a calmness and a feeling that everything is going to be alright just trust in Daniel at Abney. He was so right! He lifted our stress and anxiety off our shoulders and made our day but most importantly made my Sister’s final day something to behold!

We chose Abney Funeral Parlour, for our late Claire Gray who passed away suddenly. Abney Funeral is extremely one of the best that I have come across and I have come in contact with other funeral parlour's. What makes them different from others, is the service package that is offered to you. From you walk in, you, you automatically know you have come to the right place, and that's how we felt. Everything was explained in detailed nothing was left out. As soon as we step out the door, within 2 minutes we were back in their sorting out the paperwork. Daniel the proprietor was so amazed. From their on we knew our Claire was in the right place and will feel at peace. You did an amazing job, in keeping us informed of everything in detail, setting up the family whatsapp group, being able to view Claire, when we want, giving u notice. Then the actual day came and Abbey went another step by sending a different family car to pick up family at a different location. Daniel you guys are just amazing and I will definitely recommend you guys. I still have my water bottle I got from my first visit to you. Following my dads departure we were overwhelmed with all the decisions needed to be made and what funeral service to use. We were just about to sign up with one of the big funeral services when my brother mentioned he had recently spoken to a lovely lady on the phone by the name of Abi and he said she was compassionate, very knowledgeable and professional. When we visited the office we met Abi and she was all the above and much more. We were treated with the utmost respect by both Abi and Daniel, they went out of their way to answer all our question, remove our fears and were also very sensitive towards our mothers needs.

This attitude of "going the extra mile" for our family continued from when we left the meeting to helping us with the order of service and all other details. Both Abi and Daniel made themselves available even outside normal working hours. My family and I were amazed when we would send a text in the late evening with questions and we would get an immediate response. We knew we would never have received this type of personal attention and support if we had gone with one of the bigger funeral companies.

The day of funeral went well, even though it poured with rain, Daniel and his team continued to provide an excellent service down to small details such as providing seats at the burial for the older folks and always looking out for the well being of the family.

Both Abi and Daniel have exceeded all my expectations and I would definitely recommend Abney Funeral Services. My only disappointment is that I am unable to give more than 5 stars...

Once dad died we his family felt in turmoil, we didn’t know what to think let a lone do! We didn’t even know if we wanted a funeral or a direct cremation.
For starters Abney went out of their way to help us as their common practice is normally burials, we’re not even a religious family, so we honestly can’t express how grateful we are to have had Abi and Daniel guidance and support for dads DIY cremation.

Dad was the least materialistic person we knew, also, an amazing artist and we wanted to personalise his send off with heartfelt and simplicity.

Abi helped us find a white (eco) cardboard casket, which we drew special last drawings on his box for our father that we knew meant a lot to him, we stuck on photos and messages from all his dearest, in a time scale that only Abi and Daniel could have helped us organise in our state of minds during a tragic time.

We didn’t want any speeches or ceremony or dad disappearing behind the curtains at the end, just seven of dads songs that reminded us of his life and us growing up, whilst everyone who came signed a message and chatted among ourselves around dad coffin. It was lovely, a perfect occasion that we’ll remember forever, thank you to Abney and their worthy line of work. Compassionate people, sentimental memories, would not have been what it was without them and we just can’t thank them enough.

We booked Abney Funeral Services when our father passed away in November 2018, we had shopped around and spoke to 3 other directors,however abney was our last visit of the day.

As soon as we arrived in there we were met with a warm welcome and a sympathetic ear. They carefully explained how they would care for our beloved father once he was in their care, how they would wash him and oil him clothe him and wrap him, this especially was so comforting to us, as we know what our father is like, always wanted to be clean and smell nice.
We knew right away that we had found dads resting place, we all left their had a group hug outside and just knew we had chosen the right place for us.

The memorial service they offered was a pleasant why to grieve our father in private before the funeral day, it was a private family service but the staff where on hand if and when we needed them.

On the day of the funeral we were further amazed by the courteous staff and there patience and attentiveness. In fact a lot of our friends and extended family were convinced that the staff must have been related to us because of the way that the team especially Daniel worked alongside us, to the extent he got all the grandchildren involved to pick up the flowers and share them out at the grave site that made a profound effect on the children being able to get involved with their granddads day.

I can not recommend this business more, if there was 10stars they would be getting all ten as they more than deserve it,they are a business that has heart at the forefront of their business. I know you will not regret going with them as we haven’t.

What can I say !! Absolutely excellent.. Daniel Abi and all of the Abney team were an absolute pleasure to work with at what was a very difficult time in my family’s live. My mother especially found comfort in knowing that my brother was in empathetic and caring hands. Their professional yet honest and approachable work ethic allowed us to feel that we could ask any question and they would make the enquires with the final decisions being completly ours. From the beginning to the end like our family , they were by our side supporting, guiding us whilst ensuring my Brother had the most respectful goodbye !!! Thank you Abney

Daniel and his team helped me and my family through a difficult time. He managed the whole process with care and consideration and made sure we were kept up to date with all the details and he carefully gave us all the options. He made me feel like he really cared about my family and made a real effort to get to know us individually. The funeral was handled so well and many people commented on the professionalism that was afforded my family during the day. I would have no hesitation in recommending Daniel and his team should anyone need his services.

Funeral Director Daniel is professional, sympathetic, understanding and ensures that your loved one is treated respectfully after their passing. Daniel also makes sure that family members are supported and goes the extra mile to ensure that their requests are met.

From my first conversation with Daniel I had a lot of questions and found him to be both knowledgeable and patient. As well as verbal communication he set up a WhatsApp Group so that family members and the funeral home could share information which we found useful.

Abney Funeral Services demonstrated a high level of professionalism and my brother was buried in a respectful and dignified manner where everything went smoothly from my first contact with them until my last.

Honestly, I cannot exaggerate the excellence of the service that the Team at Abney Funeral Services provide. They were able to help me at the very last minute with producing an Order of Service funeral brochure for my late Mum. Within a 2 days, it had been completed to a very high standard, and I was also amazed that the price was so low, given the high quality! They also really listen to what you, the customer wants, and will always put that at the forefront of the work that they do. And all of the staff there go out of their way to make you feel personally welcomed whenever you pop in! I really wish I'd known about them before, as their full Funeral Service package looks equally professional, tactfully dealt with, and much more reasonably priced than other high street Funeral Directors.
