Automatic payments made it easy, but the interest on the loan is atrocious! I paid off my furniture yesterday, but I would have easily paid more than double for the set had I kept making payments. I d... See more

Charging a tax amount with my payments Not good customer service

Just another predatory leasing/banking/loaning outfit. The people that answer your phones are great at deflection, and I was hung up on. Not until I asked to speak to a manager was I helped enough to get this messed paid off. I will never use this service, or advise others to use this service. I've voiced my opinion to the owners of Godwin's as well. My next stop is the BBB, and the Attorney General for the State of Michigan.

ONLY get a loan with them if you can repay within the early 90 day repay. If you do not pay within the 90 days you will pay upwards of twice the amount of the original loan. Other than that they are pretty convenient to use.

Great option for people on a strict budget. Just make extra payments and pay it off early. Acima has had my back every time I needed it.

I paid my lease payment 4 days early. They tried to run the payment thru again on the original due date and it failed. They charged me a $25 NSF fee for this. I called them to remove the fee and they denied the request. They showed the payment on the 17th of the month and the returned payment on the 21st. The 17th payment cleared my bank on the 21st, the original due date and they still would not remove the NSF fee.

The service I got from acima was really great from the workers to the people working on my car. I will be using you again when I'm in need of tires or whatever else I might need. Thanks so much.

This is by far the worst company I’ve ever done business with. Their customer service is a joke, they will be rude to you and disconnect the chat immediately after answering your question. I made a manual payment days before my scheduled autopay and Acima still took an additional payment in auto pay and would not return the additional payment. On a few payment I made only half of what I paid (pretax) was applied to the principle balance and the representative I spoke to just told me I was mistaken even though I took screen shots. I wouldn’t recommend ever using their services, they’re a group of crooks.

Horrible experience. $230 worth of Hidden fees when making 90 pay off payment and it was not in my contract. The representative I spoke with barely spoke English so she was not clear with communicating & to top it off the manager HUNG UP ON ME. Horrible service from manager. He didn’t know what he was talking about either. Math didn’t add up. I will never do business with you all. Throw the whole company away.

I needed new tires for my vehicle. I went to a local tire garage. They offered Acima financing, I decided to just go with them instead of taking out a loan from my primary bank. The total cost for my 4 tires were $990. As of right now, I paid $957.80. I made 13 scheduled payments with an additional $425 1 time payment. According to my account. I still owe Acima. $913.75. Doing the math. 957.80+913.75= $1871.55. On a $990 original purchase amount. I paid $957.80 already. If I don't pay extra they expect me to pay a total of $1641.68 totaling $2,588.48. On an originally $990 dollar purchase. I didn't have at the time nor did I want to get robbed in high interest costs. ACIMA SET UP 52 months in a payment plan. I pay extra because I know now but not at the time. Acima wants their flat rate of calculated interest amount. No additional payment is going to lower what they originally wanted at the start of the lease/ loan unlike a bank. It is like this. You want to borrow this amount of money? Well we want this amount of money in return and it will cost you double the amount of your original purchase. The tire salesman did not explain that to me. He just rang me up and had me sign on some electric device connected to his computer. Never again will I borrow from Acima.

This whole Acima stuff is a huge grift. I payed everything off early. But paying tax on what you owe is insane. So for a 3k purchase it was about 3500. I would not recommend.

It was a great service I’m satisfied for what they did

I have used this company 3 or 4 times less than a year. They are prompt and fast. What I like best is that you have an early payoff option that will save you more money. They offer additional insurance for hardships in case you experience life situations. I will continue to use them.

Worse company ever!! Don't give your money to them!!!

When I purchased the tires the amount was way different from the price I paid off within 90 days purchased. I paid a fee of 53 for the account. Which i was told would go towards my purchased. That didn't happen also I was charged another 50 at the end of my 90 day agreement. I tried reaching out to someone who talked over me saying basically it is what it is. I just hung up. Getting the contract was a easy process .But once I was locked in that's when it fell apart . I'm not saying it's a bad company it's just not for me. I hope they continue to be successful .

I’ve used Acima for years and always paid everything off within the 120-day payoff period. Last year, I purchased a couch and fully paid it off by September. Despite that, my account was never properly closed. The store I bought the couch from even called me six months later asking to pick it up—after it had already been paid off.
Recently, I noticed they started charging me again, totaling over $200. When I contacted them, they finally closed the account, but now they refuse to refund the overpayment—even though I was previously told they would. I’ve called multiple times and kept getting told it would be resolved within three days. Now, the supervisor who initially promised a refund is denying ever saying that.
At this point, they’re claiming the $236 is stuck in the closed account and that nothing can be done.
If you’re using their service, monitor your payments closely and don’t assume anything is handled correctly. Follow up repeatedly until you are absolutely certain your account is fully closed. Otherwise, you may continue to be charged without realizing it.

Acima customer service provided false information about my 90-day early purchase option. I was told I still had to make a renewal payment even after paying the full early purchase amount, which contradicts Acima's own policy. Only after I challenged the response did the representative correct herself.

Definitely wouldn’t recommend Acima for leasing anything. Trust me all your money will be going to the company, instead of what you purchased. I would never use this company again. I would definitely recommend you going through Affirm instead.
