It WAS a good app!

a lot of time has passed since Authy became Twillo and discontinued desktop version... I had huge problems too as many others. I read all those negative reviews and understand that I had right... It was a stupid decision to discontinue the desktop version. But what's done is done! Only thing you can do is to bring the desktop version back... oh, btw, you(Authy) never said WHY you made such a desission! I think the users has right to now it! July 2024... 33 million user numbers leaked to the hackers... maybe there were more accidents that we do not know about...

update: btw, it seems like Authy just want to earn the money. They do NOT care about users experience... As a user worte here: GO, SCREW YOURSELF!
Authy(twilio) why don't u even reply to the users comments here? huh?

The worst piece of trash you could ever…

The worst piece of trash you could ever come accross.
After they removed desktop support I had to manually add 2FA to every other App/Site where this was configured and then manually remove it from Authy.
The phone App is disgusting to the point of ridicule.
Does not provide any way to validate your account with username/password, only phone number and on top of that is buggy and fail to send you validation SMS.
An app that is supposed to be built to help you add 2FA does not have a proper way for you to sign in to your own account.
On top of that since they made it mandatory for Sendgrid... login in to Sendgrid is now a nightmare as well.
The sole fact that the company didn't even take a minute to validate this profile speaks volumes on what they want to do with this product, which is to rot in hell, taking all it's users with it.
Do not waste one more microsecond on this crap.
I've cancelled Sendgrid as well. I'm not planning on paying 1 penny or wasting my time with any product that comes from Twilio.
As far as I'm concern, they should die as a company

Wish I could give zero rating. Automatically logged me into an old work email I couldn’t access as I started a free trial. I reached out to customer service to let them know, who ignored me, and I ended up getting charged. Nothing more than an unreliable scam. So many better options out there, avoid at all costs.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. This app is a complete waste of time and totally unreliable. Logging in is always a struggle, and verification codes or calls never work properly. For something as important as a security app, Authy 2FA fails to deliver even the most basic features. Using it is nothing but frustration and hassle.

If I could give them 0 stars I would

If I could give them 0 stars I would , thanks to them I will lose access to my twitch account cause they can’t do a simple task as to change a phone number, even after giving them all info they need more and on top of all that they want you to add a pic of your passport but then the only size that is allowed is 2mb so when my pic was 2.2 mb they basically went f u start all over
Do not download this the developers should be ashamed of themselves

Twilio is a horrible and unsecure company

Twilio stopped support of Authy's desktop applications somewhere in 2023-24 (I don't remember the exact year), and they changed their backend, so these desktop applications would not work anymore. But a problem is, desktop versions were the only versions, that had "export TOTP keys" function. Because of the major data breach in Twilio, I don't trust my 2FA to their product (Authy) anymore, and want to move to an Aegis + self-hosted Vaultwarden/Bitwarden couple with possible backups on other FOSS 2FA solutions like Ent Auth. But unfortunately, mobile versions doesn't have "export keys" feature, and desktop versions doesn't exist anymore so I can't import my keys to another solutions. I found out on GitHub and forums, that some people were able to obtain their TOTP keys by GDPR requests, and even that thing Twilio made painful, since they provide only encrypted TOTP keys trough GDPR requests, not row keys. And you need to have some tech skills about decryption, and you also have to know a backup password to decrypt them. I would still try GDPR request on them to export my keys thought, but I don't have any expectation for it. Absolutely horrible company for me. Stay away.

Upd: Months has passed, and they just completely ignored my GDPR request. Not even rejected me, just ignored. Since ignoring a formal requests without of any explanation is also a GDPR violation (according to GDPR, they had a 1-month deadline to respond), I already filled a complaint to my local Data Protection Ombudsmen, but as all government related things, DPO is slow as hell and may take years to do something : (.

Best support I've had for a free service

I had a bit of trouble receiving SMS to recover my Authy access.
I contacted support and they resolved the issue within 24 hours and on a weekend 👏
Easily the best and friendliest support experience I’ve ever had with a free service.
Shout out for Jeffrey from support for making it happen 🙏

This is without a doubt the biggest…

This is without a doubt the biggest piece of garbage to ever be attached to any phone. It has now shut me down from cashing in a CD to buy my grandson a house. So now I have to wait 7 days for it to allow me to do anything of any importance.
IT SUCKS AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AS FRAUD1

Best avoiding this stupid company

Best avoiding this stupid company

Make it virtually impossible to do delete your account they're beyond hopeless and their support is next to useless, they dont read or understand a single thing about support tickets.

I explained a response I got for trying to delete my account, then said it was a self service thing, being able to read a support ticket would be a great start!

So glad I've not wasted a single £1 on this company, it'd be a complete waste (Twilio that is).

BAD SUPPORT // BROKEN APP

I had more than 6,000 accounts linked to Authy, since it was updated on Android it ruined my life, the synchronization was lost, the linked accounts disappeared from one moment to the next, now they don't exist, I spoke to support and they practically told me to screw me.

Great update

I love the new update that allows you to see all the codes in the one screen. I'm usually someone who complains, but i think it was great, can you let the developers know or however though of it. I do miss the desktop app, i do undersatnd that it did pose a security risk though, but it is a shame that it has gone

The app used to be great but recently ate dirt badly

The app used to be great but have a few bugs.

Removing the Desktop version locks users in so they cannot export their data.

The recent update makes it impossible for most auth codes to be found. I cannot access dozens if not hundreds of sites now without resetting my 2FA.

Email support via both authy.com and twilio.com have been discontinued, your only options being forums or a bot.

Bad move to mobile only application

These people had a desktop application that they deleted and no longer support. The new mobile application upgraded my Windows 11"desktop" application automatically deleting all my tokens and broke their "mobile" only application.

Authy is a joke

Twice has Authy screwed me over, first on a personal account where it didn't back up my codes and I lost access to important accounts some which I never managed to get back. Then I found Sendgrid forcing me to use their shi.tty, shi.tty authenticator where again I am locked out of my account and have no easy way for them to reset this "for my security", guess what? you absolutely SHAFTING ME is a bigger threat, let me pick my own authenticator like the rest of the industry does. BIG NO! Will move away from sendgrid too for this reason.
