So far so good

This is going to be very long but I would suggest reading it all.
I booked with Away holidays in 2022 and vowed that I would never book with them again. My review for 2022 is on Trust pilot.
I have booked again with Away holidays as the price was good and I decided to take a chance. This review is based purely on the booking process as my holiday is in November 2026 . So I will update or write another review after my holiday.
I booked via Praveen and we have booked 10 nights in Thailand with Qatar business flights. I wanted particular flights and I wanted to know if the lounge access was included . Praveen checked both of my queries and answered them satisfactorily.
The booking process over the phone was straight forward and satisfactory. After a couple of days I emailed Praveen requesting flight confirmation number (if you read my 2022 review you will see why I requested this)
Praveen emailed the confirmation number and I checked it via the Qatar App and the flights do appear to be booked which reassuring .
I then contacted the hotel to check my room was booked and they said they had no record of my booking. I emailed Praveen and asked him why and after 3 or 4 emails I had an email from Praveen with hotel confirmation number ,which I have since checked with the hotel and all appears correct.
Overall so far I am satisfied with my booking experience and the way Praveen has dealt with my questions and queries. I have paid £600 deposit on a £6,500 holiday and as long as I get the flights that include lounge access and the hotel and room category I have booked and have the confirmation from Away holidays to say I have booked I will be happy with my decision to use Away holidays again.
I will write an in depth updated review after my holiday in November

A very good company to trust for travel needs

Ian has been an excellent person to deal with all my requirements to travel to Mauritius. All the possible choices given and offer me satisfaction. He knew exactly what a family person want. We found Away Holidays by accident on…

We found Away Holidays by accident on the internet but it was Brooklyn who was so quick to ring back who was so impressive. He found a wonderful 2-centre option for us which accommodated our budget. He really was amazingly quick, tenacious and inventive!

Holiday to Dubai

This is the 2nd holiday we have booked with Away. Brooklyn was our agent on this occasion for a trip to Dubai. We booked our holiday with Go Away…

We booked our holiday with Go Away Holidays, dealing mainly with Umang. Four weeks before our trip, we were informed there was an issue with one of our connecting flights. We were promised this would be resolved within 48 hours, but instead we spent two weeks being given conflicting information and empty promises.

We were told at different times that:
• We would fly the same day but earlier via a different route (which we agreed to),
• Then that this option was no longer possible,
• Then that we would travel a day earlier with an overnight stay elsewhere,
• Only for this plan to be changed again.

By this point, I asked to speak to a manager as I was extremely upset and stressed. We travel at Christmas because it is our daughter’s birthday and her anniversary in December , and Christmas at home is very difficult for us as a family ! I explained this clearly. Umang asked if we wanted a refund, which I declined at that time. The following day, after yet more empty promises, I asked for a refund only to be told refunds were not offered.

The journey itself was exhausting. After flying Manchester – Dubai – Bangkok, we were left waiting 7 hours in Bangkok airport with our 10-year-old child. We were meant to meet family on day 7 of our holiday, but due to Umang booking our second hotel for 7 nights instead of 6, we missed a day with them. I emailed Umang about this and was rudely ignored. We had no choice but to stay the extra night and meet our family a day later.

When we arrived at our final hotel, we were given a room with one double bed, expected to share with our 10-year-old child. When we contacted Go Away Holidays, Umang was once again rude and completely unhelpful. We were forced to pay an additional £450 just to be moved to an appropriate room.

Overall, this was a stressful, upsetting, and poorly managed experience. Umang was consistently rude, dismissive, and unreliable, and the lack of communication and accountability ruined a holiday that was meant to be very special for our family.

I would strongly advise staying well away from Go Away Holidays, and especially from Umang.

It is essential for our staff to maintain professionalism and empathy when dealing with clients, and clearly, his performance was not up to our standards. We assure you that the appropriate steps will be taken to address his behavior.

We were recommended to use Away Holidays

We were recommended to use Away holidays when chatting with some people in a jacuzzi in Dubai. We have now used them for booking 2 winter holidays and can honestly say the service is excellent, great flexibility to meet our needs for multiple stops and a good price that beat our other usual agents. Brooklyn was the most helpful travel…

Brooklyn was the most helpful travel agent that we have spoken to whilst trying to book our holiday to Mauritius.
No one else seem to want to do their job properly.
He was very helpful, informative and successful as we booked a holiday with him .
Hoping that this is the holiday off our dreams and if it is, we shall surely use Brooklyn again as our travel agent.
