Worst experience in banking ever
I believe that BBVA would be better served if they put a robot in their Benicarlo branch. The person who deigned to speak to me (without looking at me) is the worst example of an employee facing the public. Firstly, I asked if I could please ask her a question. I then asked if a certain staff member was in the office that day. She replied no, I asked about tomorrow and got same reply. I felt the staff member was no longer with the bank and had perhaps been fired! I simply wished to collect a Visa card for my sister who had requested this.
We both live in Ireland and I was on a 5 day visit to the area.
I have travelled and lived in Africa, Far East and Europe and I have NEVER been extended this extreme rudeness. I am glad I have closed my account with BBVA.
I don't want to deal with this bank…
I don't want to deal with this bank anymore! No one helps us here! They have some employees who are not informed and have no idea how to do their job! I've had problems with them since day one! They don't give you details and they don't know how to solve a problem!
What a shame
What a shame. Can't i give 0 stars ?
I am afraid I am one more disappointed with this bank.
It's a bunch of incompetent people.
DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS…
DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS BANK.IM SPANISH BUT I LIVE IN THE UK I DO MY BANKING ONLINE THROUGH THEIR APP AND BECAUSE I CHANGED MY MOBILE THEY WILL NOT GIVE ME ACCESS TO MY ACCOUNT BECAUSE THEIR APP DOES NOT ACCEPT A PASSPORT AS PROOF OF ID ONLY A DNI WHICH IN MY CASE HAS EXPIRED. THEY ARE TREATING ME VERY BADLY AND FEEL QUITE DESPERATE
I wouldn’t even give this bank a one…
I wouldn’t even give this bank a one star. Very disappointed. We went to this bank on 12-09-24 on Avenida de Tirajana road. We queued for about 1 hour, because there were only one person at the counter. Just to ask for advice on cash exchange. And he was the most inconsiderate and rude attitudes person ever. The person serving is an absolute embarrassment to your company. And should be sacked.
The BBVA APP has a vurnerablity witch…
The BBVA APP has a vurnerablity witch allows scammers to creat APPLE and Sansun Pay accounts with out your knowledge, They are able to complete the process with out having your biometrics, IE no pen number no face recognition and know thumb print. They will then charge several hundred euro to your account,. BBVA will do nothing to help, I filled out all the docs, went to the police as instructed, made all the claims requiered and the bank refuses to rtefund me. They are impossible to speak with in person and you will spend hours and hours sitting on hold only to be hung up on. THIS IS THE WORST BANK IN SPAIN JUST LOOK AT THIER RATING¡¡¡¡¡¡
Fraudulent practices and terrible…
Fraudulent practices and terrible customer service. STAY AWAY. We took out a mortgage with BBVA 6 years ago with certain terms and conditions that needed to be met to receive a preferred interest rate. We met these conditions without fail, but the BBVA automated systems made an error in evaluating the loan during two periods and charged us a higher interest rate. I spent over 16 cumulative hours on phone calls, filing claims, etc. only to be informed by BBVA agents that the problem was sytemic and there was nothing they could do. I had to escalate the claims to the Bank of Spain which is the regulatory body for banks in Spain, and after 6 months, BBVA finally turned around and said 'yes, we made a mistake, now we will reimburse you.' However, when I asked for guarantee that the same thing would not happen in future revisions - or just some mechanism to make it easier to correct the problem if it were occur in the future - they have repeatedly told me it is impossible. Now they are pressuring me to sign various cryptic documents to receive my OWN money back, using up even more of my time. When we took out the loan, BBVA had human managers in their branches who set up the mortgage, answered questions, and fixed glitches personally. They disappeared some years ago, and now it is just a bunch of agents and lawyers seemingly under the control of a massive computer. The app works well, but I advise anyone to STAY as far away from this institution as possible.
One of the mortgage brokers kept…
One of the mortgage brokers kept calling me 20-45 minutes early for a scheduled call and then sending notice stating the call couldn’t be completed.
When you call in- the service is horrible. Bad bad experiences. Time to find another bank.
The worst bank in Spain
The worst bank in Spain. They send you to the ffice everytime and if you don't schedule an appointment they don't receive you
as good as the first time
I have had an an account in BBVA Barcelona for more than 7 years and my experience with them has been always pleasant and better than expected. I feel the strong personal contact is what it make them shine. Two days a go we were having great difficulty paying for my daughter's dormitory for her collage in Holland as the time for registration was limited and the payment method unfamiliar. Finally we decided to go to closest BBVA to seek advice. A nice staff name Marian Cardena with the help of our gestor in another branch Mr. David Martin Lazard went beyond their way to make it happen and with my daughter on the other telephone line tried and tried and finally succeeded in making the payment. That is the gesture that we will never forget in our family. That is above and beyond service. Thank you BBVA.
When I first opened an account with…
When I first opened an account with them I thought they were good, really helpful staff – now they are just bad, no phone support, get told I'll get a callback, but nothing, everything in the branch is 'use the machine' – friends closed their accounts with them a few years ago and now I think they had the right idea
Worst bank in the world
Worst bank in the world, they do not return calls, you will never get this promised referral bonuses, it’s a scam. If you write a complaint they just ignore it. Worst bank in the world. Don’t try calling, whoever picks up the phone will promise to have the responsible department call you back, but that’s a lie. This bank is a scam.
People behind tuequipocontigo are a bunch of clowns
Last year I transferred some money to
my account. In March of 2024 the BBVA team asked to present the documents for those transactions which I did immediately as they were super straightforward (another person returning debt). 2 months later there is no reply, my account is restricted (can’t receive money) and both the phone calls and in-person visits yielded no results as they just file complaints. I pulled all money from this circus before they decide to restrict withdrawals too.
By far the worst banking experience not just in Spain but the world…
Rude and obstructive
After being told how good BBVA was by Spanish friends, I went into Huércal-Overa branch to open my first Spanish bank account with all the right ID (passport and NIE), fully intending on making it a life-long relationship. Was given a flat "no" with a whole heap of attitude thrown in for good measure. Will be taking my business (and my monthly Spanish salary) elsewhere. Obnoxious and unwelcoming, to put it mildly. A hideous and humiliating experience.

This is the worst bank who do not like people becoming their client
This is the worst bank I ever have contact with. It seems that they do not like people become a client in this bank and they create all trouble to clients for becoming clients in their bank.
My suggestion is to contact any other banks than this bank!
The WORST EVER BANK OFFICE I CASCO…
The WORST EVER BANK OFFICE I CASCO HISTÓRICO TOLEDO SPAIN . THE PPL WORKING THERE THINK YOUR MONEY IS THEIRS AND ARE VERY RELUCTANT TO DO THEIR WORK. TWO EMPLOYEES AND THREE CUSTOMERS TAKES THEM OVER AN HOUR... I WISH I COULD MARK "ZERO" STARS
Worst customer service
I went to their branch in patraix as I wanted to open a new bank account for non-resident and I had a paper from the government with my NIE number stating that my resident card will be issued soon. The lady there doesn't speak English but that was not the issue, I started using Google translate to communicate but she barely looked at the phone and started speaking in Spanish saying no no and when trying to get that translated by recording she was not responsive.
I had to leave the branch without any info about what I'm supposed to do so just called their customer's service and after 4 attempts I could finally find someone who speaks English and promised to schedule an appointment in Plaza Espanya branch, she took my full details and told me that they will contact me to confirm the appointment but that never happened. I felt that they don't need clients 😕 so I stopped trying and opened a new bank account somewhere else.
I strongly don't recommend this bank to anyone.
