Annoyingly the paperwork didn't come…
Annoyingly the paperwork didn't come through which amongst the holiday bookings we didn't spot. Rental company insisted on seeing it.. unusual... couldn't find it so had to pay. An expense we didn't need. Also didn't come through in a previous year so lesson is to watch the emails as they don't always arrive from them.

A genuinely great company to deal with.
I took a years car hire excess insurance out after reading good reviews for bettersafe before our holiday to Corfu.
After returning the hire car at the end of our stay I was accused of damaging the paintwork on an already well dented car, even though I took video footage before and after showing the car was exactly the same as when I picked it up.
After a bit of a stand off I had no choice but to sign the paperwork and lose the most part of my sizeable deposit on my credit card as I didn't want to miss our return flight.
Back home the next day I rang bettersafe to explain the situation to a helpful customer service chap.
A few hours later I received an e mail advising me what was needed.
I immediately got working on all the information/ paperwork required and sent it back on an e mail the end of the same day.
I received a confirmation e mail the next day, then ones keeping me informed on how it was progressing over the next few days
Then finally about 4 days after my first contact with bettersafe I received my final e mail telling me my claim had been successful and the full amount I'd lost from my deposit would be paid into my account in 1-5 working days.
I looked at my account the following day and the money had been payed in.
I can honestly say my experience with bettersafe couldn't have been better after such a bad ending to a up untill then lovely holiday.
It's unusual for me to write a review about anything but after getting the type of service I received I thought it only right.
I can wholeheartedly recommend bettersafe and will be renewing my insurance with them once this year's is over.

Had a problem with the local car hire…
Had a problem with the local car hire company which meant the excess insurance had to be renewed in a different name. Frustrating that this required cancelling of the old one (pre activation) but customer service were as helpful as they could be.
