I always use Bettersafe for my annual European Car Hire Excess Insurance when hiring a car abroad. I had just renewed for this year when I had to contact them to cancel. My husband had sadly suffered a stroke and was medically advised not to drive or fly. I received a response 2 days after I had emailed them to inform them of our situation and they replied wishing my husband a speedy recovery and the reassurance of a full refund. I cannot recommend them enough for their understanding. I am hoping to be able to use them again in the near future once my husband has recovered and is able to travel.

Very fair claims handling
It is all too often the case that the point at which one realises an insurance policy is not worth the paper it is written on is when one comes to making a claim. Fortunately, this was not the case with Bettersafe.
Though I was confident my claim fell within the terms of the policy, it was, arguably, an edge case and so I expected a campaign of resistance. Initially, this appeared to be the case as some sifting questions were asked which were poorly expressed and encouraged counter-productive responses but ultimately the claim was allowed by the underwriters without dispute and relatively quickly.
As a result, I am a very happy customer.

very reasonable and easy to compare and buy thro' Money maxim. I have already had this policy Jan 25 when our hire car was broken into in Barcelona by breaking the rear quarterlight window. The matter was easily dealt with and excellent communications .My excess was refunded.
