We visited Pierre’s Mumbles on Saturday 27th June for our wedding anniversary. We arrived 15 minutes early, and the Front-of-House was very accommodating, sitting us outside on the balcony. Our food/d... See more

Disastrous 40th Birthday Celebration at Bistro Pierre's Tivoli Room
My 40th birthday celebration was utterly ruined by the appalling service and lack of professionalism at Bistro Pierre's Mumbles Tivoli Room.
Upon booking, I was shocked to receive an email directly to my guest, who was supposed to be surprising me. This glaring error immediately spoiled the entire surprise.
To make matters worse, our host was incredibly hostile and dismissive towards our group. There seemed to be a lack of communication, as our requests were met with confusion and indifference.
The food service was equally deplorable. Guests were served at vastly different times, leaving some waiting over 10 minutes while others had already finished their meals. This made for an awkward and uncomfortable dining experience.
The worst part of the evening was the way I was treated. Despite being the guest of honor and a paying customer, I was met with disrespect and disdain. This is unacceptable and ruined my entire birthday celebration.
I am extremely disappointed and upset that the Bistro Pierre Mumbles spoiled my surprise and failed to provide the celebratory atmosphere I had anticipated. I would strongly advise others to avoid this establishment for any special occasions or large gatherings.
Oh dear Bistrot Pierre...what has happened?
Oh dear Bistrot Pierre, what has gone so wrong with your business model? We have eaten many times at BP in various locations, and up until a year or so ago, have always had good food and 'spirited' service.
We visited Leamington last night, and was so disappointed. Firstly, you had run out of deep fried brie for starters, how can you not have a good stock of what I guess are frozen stock items? My starter of salmon was okay, but for nearly £10 it was small and was served with not even a single slice of bread. Our mains were equally disappointing, my Boeuf Bourgignon was served with some obviously heat damaged mash, a single piece of deep fried kale (which was virtually inedible), small pieces of beef in a sauce containing indistinguishable pieces of possibly shallot and bacon....but the 'piece de resistance' was the triangle of dry puff pastry stuck in the top of the mashed potato...! What happened to the nice big chunks of beef, whole shallots and mushrooms.? The other main of salmon was okay, but served with what appeared to be one new potato cut into as many pieces as humanly possible, thankfully we ordered an extra side of daupinoise, which were actually very nice. The other stand out performance was the 'sticky toffee madeleine' dessert...basically a pre-packed Madeleine with some toffee sauce and a ball of ice cream no bigger than a ping-pong ball...come on for £7.50 that was disgraceful, a McDonald's apple pie had more work put into it.
Oh yes, almost forgot, what happened to the free bread baskets..? Such an important part of any French meal, BREAD...!
Other 'side notes', our wine at £10 a glass was served only just cool, the table was sticky, and the service was merely acceptable. We paid our bill and the £9 service charge with some reservation, but regrettably we won't be returning to any Bistrot Pierre until the owners/management accept the fact that you cannot pose as a 'French Restaurant Experience', when the food is cheap and clearly about profit, not customer experience.
What a disappointment
What a disappointment, Bistro Pierre Ilkley
Set in once of Ilkley's most beautiful & historic buildings, this restaurant has been a firm favourite over the years, ok it was never going to win a Michelin star, however we have had some good meals with family & friends over the years, including graduation dinners, pre wedding meals, & celebratory afternoon tea.
Downhill fast.... the last couple of times the food and service have been nothing short of dreadful, & last night was the last straw the area where we sat was really dirty, the service absolutely non existent, with the staff standing around chatting, no check back meant I have to get up from the table to find a member of staff to complain that my food was inedible, at which point I was offered, a mumbled "sorry" but no replacement or recompense. the staff more interested in each others chat, meant that we not offered more drinks or desserts, in fact, the evening was a shambles, & what was to be a leisurely dinner was a 30 min leave ASAP, unless there is a change in attitude, management, training & chefs I will not be returning. Do not waste your money.
The meanest portions of dessert cheese ever!
Lunch with friends today. OK meals but such small portions! The cheese selection for dessert was ridiculously small - three tiny pieces of cheese, probably one inch wide x one inch long!! Local competitors serve a selection of wonderful cheeses at least 5 times larger for the same price! Bistrot Pierre, meanest portions ever, just don't order it. There's cost cutting and then there's taking the ****. Real shame. Fabulous views, friendly staff, miserly menu.
BIRTHDAY FREE MEAL - BE VERY AWAREreceiving an email stating I…
After receiving an email stating I could get a birthday main meal ( off the ala carte menue) free. Wednesday 4 th June we booked a table.
Previously I had heard people complain about this deal. So when we ordered I double checked what I could have and ordered appropriately.
Problem info given at the table was NOT the same as info at the till.
Complete and utter rip off ended up paying more than we normally do.
The only people that understand the ‘terms and conditions’ of this offer are the marketing team. BEWARE
So coloured my judgement of BP.
My friend and I visited today 7/6 at…
My friend and I visited today 7/6 at the Nottingham restaurant. We went for the chicken escalopes from the lunchtime special menu priced at £12. We could not believe our meal when it arrived. The chicken was the size of a postage stamp and so overcooked you needed a hacksaw to cut it and very dry, there was 4 half’s of baby new potatoes and a few broad beans and a few leaves of pea shoots (I think that’s what they were) the best part of the meal was the garlic mayonnaise.
We were so disappointed we never made a fuss because we didn’t want it to spoil our time together as we had not seen each other for sometime but we won’t be returning the food was very poor for the price.
Wouldn't go back to Pierre Newport
Pierre Newport has been reopened under the Bistro Pierre umbrella, but is not part of the main chain. All the branding is the same inside from when it was closed last year. Menu very similar, with the descriptions and prices - but the quality of food was very poor. Drinks service was very slow. Starters did not come out at the same time, as they forgot one! Pork scratchings were odd and flat, and served with jarred apple sauce. Again, another meal was late at mains as the team forgot. Had to flag member of staff down twice for more drinks, as no active check ins. Pork medallions with Bistro Pierre used to be served with sliced apples, Pierre serves theirs with jarred apple sauce. Not pleasant. Desserts were odd, with the choux buns being crunchy and served with tinned cherries. Just feels basic, not organised and over priced for what it is. Would not be going back or recommending. Very disappointed as the original Bistro Pierre was a lovely meal out.
If I could give 0 stars I would’ve
Visited Bistro Pierre in Derby last night and if I could have given 0 stars I would’ve!! It’s the first time we’ve visited and we’ll definitely not be going back! We waited 10 minutes for the waitress to come over after we’d been given the menus by which time I had already decided on which starter and main I was going to have! 15 minutes later the same waitress came over to say that they didn’t have either of the dishes I chose! I picked something else as these things happen, when my starter arrived, the bread was stale!! I actually mean it was rock hard and inedible! We then received our mains!!! The steaks we ordered were cooked wrong and were nearly blue instead of medium rare! The salmon and potato’s were freezing cold and had to be sent back!! The crab linguine was that spicy that even a major foodie in our party couldn’t even stand it so again, that was inedible! The ‘cottage pie’ type dish was dry and didn’t really taste of anything! At this point we told the waitress not to bother bringing the ‘fresh’ salmon out and we complained about how disappointed we were and how disgusting the food was!! Horrendous!! Avoid like the plague!! We didn’t even feel we should’ve had to pay for anything but we were still charged over £100 for meals that hadn’t been eaten!!! Disgusting food and disgusting food and attitude of the staff
Nice meal for two in Torquay
Enjoyed a nice meal for two in Torquay. Pleasant, clean restaurant with great sea view. Plenty of menu choice too. Attentive staff
Great waitress
Was absolutely beautiful food I don’t know what these reviews are talking about. We were served all night by the same waitress “Hannah” she was polite, friendly, prompt and efficient. She was very clearly keeping things together and ensuring the customers had the best customer experience. A wonderful experience. Will be coming here again in the future
Mixed experience
Mixed experience. While the atmosphere was good and the service was prompt, the food left a bit desired. The main was OK, but the dessert was underwhelming.
Eastbourne Restaurant
Most of the staff (one in particular) are very rude. The food makes up for the poor service which is the only reason we return. Compliments to the kitchen.
Went to Bistro Pierre in Mumbles.
Went to Bistro Pierre in Mumbles.
Wrong order arrived. Went to explain the situation to a waitress and one of the waiters. An older man with a foreign accent and a beard wanted to deliver food to people and he shouted at me to move, move abruptly as he passed me. I felt he was very rude. He had no ID badge on..
When he eventually delivered the correct food to us there was no apologise for the wrong food being delivered. He just banged the plates down… Not impressed with his attitude !!!
Disappointed with the attitude of the older waiter.. Would not recommend to anyone to come here…!!!
The Maitre’d very disorganised forgot…
The Maitre’d very disorganised forgot our full order, wrong dish arrived, the mains came at different times, the pasta was over cooked and very badly presented covered with fonds of dill. Ordered a bottle of wine with meal didn’t come. Asked where it was told it was forgotten and only had one bottle and is warm and so chilling it. Didn’t offer an alternative. We ordered a different bottle. The service was over all very poor and the person in charge was dressed very scruffy and an unkempt. We shall not be going there again.
Five star food and service
Harry served us it’s the only restaurant I a tally eat three courses due to the food being so yummie. Harry really looked after us and gave us five star treatment. We love going there especially as we can take our dog Dennis . Will be back very soon
Gone downhill! Used to love this restaurant in…
Used to love this restaurant in Kidderminster but there is a reason why it’s empty on a Sunday lunchtime, 2pm (11 Covers) the food was so poor, family meal for four.
French onion soup served cold, I mean how hard is it too warm soup up, no cheese crusted top just a hard bit of bread, send back obviously popped into the microwave and sent back in the same bowl and plate with spillage marks all down the side.
Sirloin of beef replaced with topside of beef, the beef was tough and inedible.
Stale Yorkshire puddings all around, I could have taken Jackie chan out with these weapons.
Roast potato’s sloppy and flavourless, in fact everything needed seasoning.
Deserts served apart from the lemon tart, I actually thought they had forgotten it only to be half 5 minutes later they had none available by this point the rest of the family had almost finished theirs.
Creme Brûlée decent to be fair but needs a biscotti or something similar or even a bit fruit as served as it is.
£131 later which included a £12 service charge. Really disappointed.
We won’t be returning like the rest of Kidderminster it seems.
A disappointing lunchtime experience
A disappointing lunchtime experience. The cheese toast topping on French Onion soup was hard, dry and cold. The fishcake Nicoise likewise. A mixture of hot and cold items with unexciting little gem lettuce in abundance. The buttered new potatoes didn’t taste at all fresh. On the bright side - poached egg good. I suppose that was about all that hadn’t been cooked well in advance.
Very disappointed
7th April 2024 Southport.
Very disappointed The food was very poor. Starter of mushrooms on sourdough was just like toast toppers. Beef bourginuon didn't shallots, pork belly or mushrooms. The chips didn't taste nice at all. Then they bang on a 10% service charge. Won't be returning.
Family meal at bistro Pierre …
Family meal at bistro Pierre which used to be my go to restaurant but sadly no longer. Had the soire gastonomique and some chose the ordinary menu. It's instantly clear that the company is probably run by an accountant or a board of penny pinchers. It's sad to see the decline with inexperienced staff poor quality meat and a french restaurant not serving baguettes and butter anymore. Some of the food was good but way overpriced and the wine a ridiculous price . Obviously people are voting with their feet because the place was half empty. Service slow and I felt sorry for the manager doing their best to keep everyone happy. Take a tip and get back to basics.
Have eaten there many times for special…
Have eaten there many times for special events or just for lunch. Last visit two weeks ago disappointing, standards have dropped, service very slow even when it wasn’t busy, meals noticeably smaller. When mentioned to staff … overwhelming indifference. The sunshine was pleasant and the Sea looked fabulous.
