They don't warn you when you are being charged or where it's coming from. If your payment fails they take it out of your bitcoin without telling you, even if you have other assets. I signed many forms specifying that I wanted to pay fees from my credit card. They charged me from a random processor name called "Digital Trust" which I didn't recognize and couldn't find the source of with GREAT effort. This processor shows up online as a scam charge. Obviously I flagged it as fraud. Rather than send me an email about this, for over a year, they took hundreds of dollars of my bitcoin. They said they tried to call me, but that is a pathetic excuse. They don't let you update your phone number easily, and they have my correct email and mailing address. How hard is it to send an email with a statement, upcoming charge, or payment failure? I got none of those.

I closed my account not too long after being charged for this year, and they wouldn't give me a partial refund. It's hundreds of dollars. Other financial companies do this without you asking. If you close a credit card with an annual fee for instance, they give you back the difference by default because they have the ethical and business sense not to charge you for something you are not using. They also communicate via email or regular mail on important information. I bet these companies will exist much longer than BitcoinIRA.

BIRA trading fees are ridiculous to boot. It cost me $1000 just one year to buy into a few positions, that's more than 1/10th of what was there. If you want to hold bitcoin with your retirement funds, there are better ways where you have more control, custody, and reasonable fees.

John did a great job walking me through the process of updating my CC. Patient and explained everything with a smile in his voice.

As my crypto accounts grew, so did my worries about security. Scams are getting incredibly sophisticated these days, and even experienced holders can get caught. It has happened to many of us.

That is why I reached out to BitcoinIRA. I wanted clear, straightforward answers about how they keep their customers’ funds safe. What really surprised me was the personal attention I received from people very high up at the company. I have honestly never experienced that level of care anywhere else. It gave me a sense of comfort I do not even get from the big brokerage houses.
