They take all your informations without opening an account

I'm upset with BlackCatCard. I provided all needed documents to open an account my id card , adresse verification , phone number , but after two months of waiting and contacting them, my account still isn't open. This is very unprofessional and make me look for others alternatives

Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional

They suspended any form of SEPA transfers in or outgoing for the entire month of March promising it would be restored by the end of March.
Now in April they say:
"It is planned that the first groups of clients will have access to the new IBAN accounts and SEPA functionality in the first weeks of April. We cannot specify which clients will be the first."
What does the plural of the word "weeks" mean? There are only 4 weeks in a month anyway.
This communication couldn't be more vague. They do not commit to any clear date by when things work again for all clients.
The business practices of this institution have no integrity. How do you suppose to work with such a bank? How is it possible that the Maltese authorities even let them operate?

As we promised, we have completed the transition to our new SEPA service provider by the end of March, which was announced on March 29th. This phase is now complete.

We're excited to announce that the next phase, the customer connection phase has already commenced.
Due to technical difficulties, including AML/KYC customer verification procedures carried out by the service provider itself, in accordance with regulatory requirements, customers will be connected gradually, not all at once, so this will take some time..

As the service is connected, customers will receive new IBAN. Upon assignment, customers will also receive a push notification and an email with instructions on how to use SEPA payments.
We understand that delays can cause inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience in this matter.

We are doing everything in our power to expedite this process.

I'm waiting for a refund from June, 2023

I had a refund issued on June 14th, 2023, to a BlackcatCard account. By the time this refund was issued my BlackcatCard account was already closed, so I didn't received the funds.

I contacted the customer support on 2023, July 21st, regarding this issue and shared all the information requested.

Since then I have been trying to get in touch with the customer support several times and they always reply to my emails but never helped me having the situation solved. They only ask for my patience and understanding.

Right now, it's almost a year since my refund was issued and BlackcatCard is keeping my money.

I only ask to have my money back. If it was the other way around I would have to pay interest.This situation is completely unacceptable.

Attention

I warn you about this bank, I have always had a good opinion until now. It's hard for me to get the funds back because after the transaction, they keep telling me that I have to wait for some confirmation, how long can I wait, no transaction lasts that long, it's been almost a week and they can't even say how long it may take, I'm afraid that these funds are not mine at all. they won't make it.
After so long, my money is still in hold status, there is no change at all. blackcatcard support refers me to mastercard with this problem. Mastercard says Blackcatcard should help me. The sender of these funds claims that the transfer has been made and the bank is most likely blocking the funds.still no funds and no help either mastercard says I should get help from blackcatcard and blackcatcard again tells me to contact mastercard. I no longer believe that I will ever receive funds

Absolutely unacceptable!

As you can see from all the latest reviews... This is absolutely unacceptable. To have your paycheck withheld, not for a day or two but for a month is unreal! People depend on this to survive, and BCC should have had a Plan B in place for situations like this. I now have to pay a lawyer to send documents to the court system to explain why my child support payment are late, in addition how do I pay my rent/bills/food/ gas to go to work. This is inexcusable for the time frame and not to mention no notification even after the fact. I wish there was legal action I could take here.

Great Graphic but that's all

Pretty graphic funny black cat printed on the card, but that's all. How can I top up my account if SEPA is not working and I don't know where to buy a top up code in Italy? Is there any way to buy a top up code online? I'll edit the review and change the number of stars as soon as you solve this problem. As it stands, I give one star because there is 0 assistance, 0 information on their website, 0, 0, 0 of anything.
I tried SEPA tranfers from all my acoounts, none worked. I even tried to top up this account with Vinted money, didn't work either.
Agency policy is completely wrong and their behaviour is worse by the way, because not even a notification informed me that SEPA wasn't working for this account, I had to find It reading reviews on Trustpilot....
Knowing the situation I wouldn't have opened the account. I bet they will start charging me for the months that I didn't use at the end, but I'm forced not to use this account IF I AM NOT ABLE TO TOP IT UP.

dormancy fee occurs if a client has a Blackcatcard account, but it’s been inactive for over 6 months. However, we aim to finalize the restitution of SEPA transfers by March-end.

If your account does not cross the six-month period of inactivity by this time, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Subsequently, you'll be capable of freely carrying out SEPA payments, and the dormancy fee won't affect you.

A little earlier, we also informed you that all other services are fully available for use, and provided their list. Utilizing these services will help to avoid the imposition of a Dormancy fee.

Additionally, should you have any queries about our service, you can reach out to us any time through our app's live chat, which is available 24/7. We are always ready to assist you with any of your concerns!

Useless, crooked company

Things were acceptable with Blackcatcard until this week when I chased a payment from a company I work for. I contacted Blackcatcard who gave me the usual response of how they are changing SEPA providers so payments can't be processed right now. I asked them why they didn't inform me of this and got a robotic response about how I can still top up my account via card or crypto. The absolute audacity of this move is hilarious and shocking; if I can't receive funds and have not been told, why on earth would I dump a single euro into my account? I asked again why I wasn't told and I was informed that it was posted on social media. Quite why they couldn't send an email out as well (which would have taken ten minutes) is beyond me, and why they didn't give anyone advance notice so they could make alternative arrangements is ridiculous. For someone who prefers to be told by a financial institution about a catastrophic failure of its services, rather than being expected to check Facebook, this is just nuts.

I have reported them to the Malta Financial Services Authority and today have escalated the matter to the financial arbiter in Malta as well. I'd encourage everyone else to do the same. This crooked sham of a company need to be held to account.

They took my money 2500€

I ve made a two transfers to my blackcat account in total 2500€. And it never arrived. I sent it a week ago. I asked the support in the chat. And they replied to me that temporarily they don’t have an access to SEPA provider to look for my deposits because they are “switching SEPA provider” and it can take a month to resolve it. Without any prior notice. What a hell. I will update my review as soon as something changes.

Update:
Funds have been returned back. I got no claims against blackcatcard. But still. This is very unprofessional to not to warn your customers that IBAN that they see in their banking app is bot valid anymore.

Currently, SEPA transfers are not operational. This means you cannot send or receive SEPA transfers through us. If you have sent us a SEPA transfer, it will be promptly returned to the sender within the time set by the sender's bank. On average, this takes 48 hours (excluding weekends and the sender's bank holidays), but the timeframe can sometimes vary depending on the conditions set by the sender's bank. For details about the return timing, please contact the support team of the bank from which the SEPA transfer was made.

Regarding the restoration of SEPA transfers:

Although the timeline may vary slightly, we expect to complete the transition by the end of this month. We are literally working 24/7 with no days off to do everything possible to speed up the launch.

The real issue isn't just the SEPA…

The real issue isn't just the SEPA service disruption; it's the lack of communication. Loaded funds are stuck without options. Plus, last year's crypto loss with zero resolution, despite endless "investigations"((

DON'T PUT YOUR MONEY HERE

You'll never be able to withdraw your balance : SEPA transfers just stopped working and their "support" is just sending the same message over and over that they're currently switching their SEPA provider. The chat support just stopped working, hopefully I found an email somewhere. Anyway, "support agents" always sounded like bots or parrots sending the same templates over and over. Useless.

IMHO, they are just under investigation and will close soon.
