I often visit B&M in Ormskirk because of the wide range of very useful 'products' that you would not usually find elsewhere. So, I called in yesterday to look for something that generally can only be found in large stores such as Tesco - Fine Bone China Mugs - from which is the best way to drink tea or coffee...!!.
However, from where I live in Maghull, Merseyside, that would be a monumental 'trek' due to the geographical and a logistically awkward distance from where I live.
Not surprisingly, as I looked in each aisle, I came across a selection of Mugs and Cups etc, and I saw two delightful Mugs 'decorated' with 'Bee' motifs,
I looked at the attached label which stated 'Fine China Mug', and I am aware that there is a subtle difference between Fine China and Fine Bone China, in that the latter contains bone ash making it stronger and more durable than the former, which contains clay and other materials.
However, on a smaller, self-adhesive label on the side of the Mug was the term 'Fine Bone China, so I took both Mugs to a couple of young members of B&M Staff who, very, very understandably, did not know the difference between the two labels - not many do.
I stress that this was absolutely no reflection on these young hardworking, helpful and very friendly staff members.
I thus decided to buy the Mugs, wrapped of course, and see if I could later establish which label was applicable.
So, using the information on the reverse of the attached label, I had sufficient information to find and contact B&M's Customer Service, so telephoned it.
Happily, and surprisingly, my call was answered swiftly by a delightful young lady named Jane, who totally understood my unusual question, and requested the Item Code of the Mug from the label. She immediately established the product I was talking about and said that she would contact the 'Product' section of B&M and get a response - saying (again understandably) that it could take up to 24 hours to search for the information, and would call or email me with that response whichever I preferred.
Guess what, Jane called me in just over, maybe an hour and a half with the confirmation that the Mugs where, indeed Fine Bone China - to my delight.
I must express my thanks and gratitude to Jane in B&M Customer Service for the efficiency she showed in getting this unusual request for Product information clarified for me.
Oh, that other major Companies' Customer Services were at the level that Jane exhibited.
As a Former Director of Knowsley Business Watch (Merseyside), I found that many customers were more likely to express a complaint than congratulate the opposite.
Personally, I do both...it can help Businesses maybe reshape their Customer Service.
B&M doesn't need to....great stuff and thanks, Jane.

I purchased an item that had a fault. I didn't have my receipt. Attended the store, and they advised the action to be taken. I emailed Customer Service late in the evening and had a reply at the start of business the following morning, looking for further information. I replied and got a copy of my receipt before midday. Great service.

It was interesting yet again went into local store to get normal stuff they sell this time asked if I could use my blue light card because I saw it advertised on blue light website I had the actual card and mobile app, sadly cashier said they don’t accept so which one is it?

I have to rely on local knowledge and access due to no car. So I thought going to this store would be helpful. I needed some weed suppressing aids. Found the matting no problem, as they were outside. As I couldn’t find the metal ground hooks, I asked a member of staff. The gentleman kindly said didn’t understand what I meant and the only way to use the weed membrane was to lay it down, put gravel over it and then soil. No need for hooks.
I was getting them membrane for my allotment, so I needed hooks. I found some plastic pegs. I tried to work with this pegs and most of them broke.
Wouldn’t recommend them to anyone unless you have super soft ground to work with.

Very disappointed recently as I have been shopping at B & M for many years & I purchased a parasol only to discover that it was broken when I arrived home, I then attempted to return to a store closer to home & was told that it wasn't possible to do this as it wasn't stocked at that particular store, I could understand this if it was a large item of which they did have plenty of in the Yiewsley store, it was relatively small item & obviously needed to be returned to the warehouse or supplier . The store assistant was very rude & tried to rush me through the till as if I wasn't a person but a robot. She definitely needed to have some customer service training as part of her role as she certainly didn't show any evidence of it.

Had an issue with an iteam and couldn't find the receipt, I telephoned the customer service and the lady was very helpful and patient with me. She found the transaction and emailed the receipt straight over to me.

Shop at B&M frequently as you get what you pay for and often that's all you need.
Recently got a parking fine by the third party running the car park for overstaying by 15 mins because - shopping. We like to spend a bit of time in there, especially in the garden centre. B&M Customer Service (Isabelle) was fantastic in avoiding a painful parking firm appeals route and got the fine cancelled for us.

I like to shop at B and M. It has a very good range of household and garden products. Staff at the Caernarfon store are always helpful and friendly. Pwllheli staff are very good too but one woman in her 50's constantly spoils my shopping experience. She often works at the cigarette kiosk and is so rude and ignorant. Even aggressive. She needs removing for putting off customers. She ruins it for all the other wonderful staff members.

On Saturday at Ely store there was only one person on tills queues going down isles, he was calling for support multiple times and no one came. This was just after 3pm. This is not acceptable and has put me off from coming into your store.

I bought last week more items from Blantyre stored and four of them were not suitable for me.I was in store for a refund but I didn't find the receipt, so the cashier couldn't help me but she was very kind and gave me the details for customer service.I wrote an email to them and in less then 10 minutes they sent me the receipt through my email. I was very happy with their behaviour and that shop will remain my favourite. Thank you to everybody.

The treatment I received in the Motherwell store was diabolical I took some paint back and was told that it had been opened I assured her it had not been she was clearly shouting with a load of People standing by I will never use the store again 😡

I bought 3 packs of garden bulbs costing £1.99 each or 3 for £5. Unfortunately, one pack had only one usable bulb rather than 2 shown on pack. I no longer had the receipt but a friendly manager in store gave me the Customer Service Nr and said if I rang with details if the transaction, they’d be able to email me a copy. Spoke with Clare (again a very friendly person) and as I didn’t remember the exact amount I’d paid for the transaction, she wasn’t able to search but she emailed me the link so I could provide details once I’d checked my statement. B&M followed up when I didn’t get back to them immediately. Today, I found the info and within minutes, had received a copy receipt which I took to the store for a replacement packet. I was very impressed with the speed of replies and the friendly, helpful manner of all the people I dealt with. Thank you, all

Jane in customer services was really helpful when I called to complain about the rogue parking company who manage their Falkirk site. Once I supplied my evidence of shopping in store, she quickly had my parking charge cancelled. She was extremely pleasant, sympathetic and helpful. Great at her job
