The boat bike trip was fantastic, especially the staff on board who took such great care of us all! The Waddenzee route with sailing and the visits to the islands were definite highlights but the rest of the trip was good too.

Wonderful staff, amazing food, beautiful islands, extremely well organized, professional, comfortable accommodations, and an overall fun time.

While we have done several boat/bike trips, staying on a sailing vessel took it to a whole different level. The Atlantis is a beautiful ship and traveling on open water is a lovely, relaxing experience. The hands on opportunity to learn more about actual sailing was so informative and lots of fun. The captain, crew, staff and biking leaders were knowledgable, friendly, fun, and went out of their way to ensure everyone had a great experience. We would do this trip again in a heartbeat. Thank you to all!

This trip was a lovely way to explore the Dalmatian Islands and learn about the fierce Croatian people. The boat was beautiful, staff and food amazing, and tour guides strong. This is our second Boat-Bike trip and we will be back.

Boat Bike Tours communicated well as we booked and prepared for our week. Every member of the crew was a high-service team member with a pleasant manner. Having a small group of participants for biking and meals was great. The food was terrific including meals and snacks. The bike touring was well-designed and well-supported both for those who were more independent and for those needing assistance. A great trip!

Tour guides were informative, caring, friendly, interactive and were always aware of our safety. the tour itself was AMAZING! Seeing the countryside in Belgium and the Netherlands and tasting the local fare. The boat was well appointed. The food on the boat was fantastic. The crew were great.

We just finished our trip on the Fleur and we had a great time touring France from Montargis to Paris. It was a beautiful way to see some of the countryside and we especially loved the villages that we rode through. Our group was a wide range of cycling abilities and the guides did a good job of catering to all the abilities. If I have one observation it would be that the rating of the difficulty be a bit more refined so those of lower ability are better prepared. The food was excellent and the Fleur was very comfortable and well appointed. I definitely would love to do another Boat Bike tour sometime.

I really enjoyed our boat/bike vacation. Our group was a fun, cohesive group. The biking was an excellent way to see the countryside, get exercise and see how the Dutch people live. Active vacations like this are my favorite.

We loved our Northern Holland tour -- we saw places we would never have visited and learned interesting history of the place. We slept and ate incredibly well on board and appreciated the knowledgeable guides who provided us with helpful information. The cycling was excellent and the maps, GPS, and wayfinding information gave us confidence as we travelled through the Dutch countryside. Our kids - aged 13 and 15 - enjoyed every minute of the trip (well, except some of the headwinds when we were near the sea).

I enjoyed the mix of people that love active travel. The boat, the staff, the guides all made this a fabulous experience.

What an amazing holiday we had on the Danube with Boat Bike Tours.
We sailed on the Princess Katerina, which was designed in beautiful art deco in the lounge and dinning areas.
All tours were very well organised, whether it be a tour walk or a group cycle ride.
The food was delicious and well presented. The dinning area was lovely and clean and staff were very origanised. The bar was well stocked and bar staff amazing, carrying trays of drinks to the upper deck. The lounge was delightful, although, no air con and we arrived during a heatwave.
Our cabin was funcional, clean and serviced everyday. Although a reverb wouldnt go a miss.
All in all we have a lovely time and a great experience.
All staff work hard. very friendly, smart and efficient.

We had a beautiful week aboard the Ave Maria. Our guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and fun! The boat staff were very kind, helpful, and energetic, and set a great atmosphere for the week. The food was delicious and the locations were beautiful. My only complaint is that we had one child on board and although the child was lovely and well behaved, the staff doted in her a little too much. The rest of us felt like second class because she was singled out frequently and all attention was on her.

Fantastic trip in every way. Wife and I joke that we can never travel again as nothing will top this trip. All meals and drinks were excellent. Guides were wonderful. Cannot think of anything that could be done to make it better.

The Boat Bike Tours company seems to be a booking agency for the actual company, Donau Touristik, that runs the cruise. As a result, this review is mostly for Donau Touristik, although Boat Bike Tours is at fault for the communication issues.
The route was great and the paths and places we went to were beautiful. The touring bikes (both e-bikes and non e-bikes) were also high quality and great to ride. We really loved the biking part.
The food was also great. European (mostly German/Austrian with French twists) food that was well prepared and presented. Boxed lunches with great options (although we always us to box up our lunch before breakfast so that we got the good things before they ran out).
Having said that, there were some disappointments as well. Halfway through the cruise we were notified that the water levels were too low and that the river ship was not able to continue to the 3 major ports that we had looked forward to visiting (Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest). They were not forthcoming about this up front, even though they had to know the potential situation, and did not make proper arrangements for passengers to visit those sites. (Only one bus trip to Vienna was arranged.)
Also, the passengers were 98% German-speaking and the primary language spoken by the crew was German, so the few English people were only given English explanations after all the German was done, and if we asked. We felt like the English-speakers were second class passengers, which would have been fine if we knew we were going on a German-speaking cruise, but Boat Bike Tours never gave us that information or impression.
One other annoyance was that we were never actually told where to get on the ship in Passau. Of all the info they had on their pages, the location of the ship docking area was not there! (It wasn’t just us, either. The other English speakers had to find out through their own research as well!) This seemed like one more consequence of booking through Boat Bike Tours. We were not in the loop on some of the communication from Donau Touristik, which is an Austrian company.

Everything exceeded my expectations. We'd never been on any sort of cruise before and are convinced that a small boat experience is the only kind we'd want to have. Our two guides Mateo and Martina were exceptional with their planning, humor, and knowledge - especially all of the interesting Croatian history we absorbed from them over the week as we pedaled across the gorgeous islands. The food was absolutely delicious and our gluten-free daughter felt the staff was so accommodating to her needs. Everyone we encountered from the captain to the server/bartender to the chef to the guides to the crew, that is constantly cleaning and helps load and unload bikes each day, worked so incredibly hard. It was just a wonderful experience for my husband and me and our 30 year old daughter (it was a birthday celebration/trip for her.) And we met such interesting and fun-loving guests aboard that have become friends. Our daughter described it is having a feel of "summer camp at sea" which was high praise! Thank you, thank you!

Sailing aboard the Vivienne from Passau to Budapest and back was truly fabulous

Every aspect of the experience provided by the boat's operator, Rad en Reisen, was excellent. The spacious cabins were beautiful, the food was excellent, and the crew were superb, going out of their way to make our week special. Leslie, our tour director, was an absolute delight and an organiser extraordinaire. We also loved the unguided cycling, which enabled us to cycle at our own pace and explore the areas at leisure.

The only disappointment was the pre-tour information supplied by the booking agent, Boat and Bike. The detailed itinerary was only supplied 6 weeks prior to the tour and the information we did receive turned out to be outdated, resulting in us having to rebook our transfers at extra cost. More disappointing is that a week after lodging a formal complaint with Boat and Bike, we have yet to receive a response from them.
