The entire experience was awesome. Every member of the crew were exceptional and special recognition for Joel the chef whose meals were .Michelin worthy. Jill and I will definitely be taking another cruise in the future. Thanks for the experience of a life time!

I enjoyed the experience, however felt the amenities were lacking, most notably the cabins---very sparse bedding. The appearance of the Ave Maria was less than expected. It's dated and needs refurbishing. The crew always did their best to see we were comfortable and that was appreciated.
Personally, while cycling, there were times I was concerned about my safety and the safety of others navigating busy city streets. I felt the group was too large and the varying skill and fitness levels of the participants were a factor.
It was difficult to see our guide at the front of the group while biking. Perhaps guides could wear a colored vest or place some kind of marker/flag on their bikes for better visibility. I would potentially take another trip but not on this boat. I did not have "Four Star" accommodation expectations by any means, just a few more amenities would have gone a long way.

Taking care of all the little things that make the trip special

First off the booking process was very easy. The boat the Lena Maria was first class. Rooms wear great everything was like new. Meals were awesome all staff were very friendly. I did the Friesland tour it was the perfect mix of farmland cities and water. Like every way you looked there was water. Lots of waterfowl geese ducks sea birds We even seen storks. Trip of a life time. Thanks so much. See you in the spring. Yes I have already booked the ship flora for the tulip touring April. A cycles dream vacation

The boat/bike staff was excellent, smiling, kind and helpful. Very knowledgeable of the area we were touring. Accommodations were comfortable and clean.

The personnel on our boat, without exception, were wonderful. They were friendly, took personal interest in us, and bent over backwards to make our experience positive. However, I feel the company was unfair and unreasonable in its pricing policies. Due to low water levels on the Danube River, the company was forced to reduce the distance the boat traversed the river to a quarter of the originally planned distance. Despite this substantial decrease, the company only offered a 10% discount on the original price. The company also offered an additional incentive of free drinks. That incentive was of little worth to us, because we do not drink alcohol. Also, the company only decreased its assessed fuel surcharge 33% despite the mileage decrease of 75%.

Great trip. Despite not being able to get to the Iron Gate due to historic low water in the Danube, the itinerary was revised ahead of time and agreed to before the trip. They offered a reasonable compensation with an no-cost opt-out if we didn't want to do the revised trip. Instead, we traveled on the boat from Passau to Bratislava and back on our two-week cycling excursion.

The boat was fantastic-crew was awesome and attentive. Meals were 4-7 course gourmet-quality with meat, fish or veggie options at each meal.

Our tour guide Jurgen was a nice fellow, however his briefings (in English) left us lacking in details (or actually WRONG!) about specific locations of attractions he recommended, and plenty of frustration when trying to find the boat after a long hot ride day.

On our last tour day, he sent us on a 20 mile trail along the Inn River which neither the tour guide nor his office staff had ever ridden. Unfortunately this trail was mostly a mountain biking trail rather that a bike path like we'd ridden all throughout the tour to that point. I was happy that some of our more "careful" riders had decided to take the day off from riding and skipped that trail. There is no way that this trail should have been recommended by the tour director.

Despite the record heat and low-water levels, and some snafus with the biking directions, I continue to recommend Boat-Bike Tours for their wonderful holiday adventure offerings.

The dinners were exceptional. The breakfast/lunch was not as plentiful and diverse as our last boat and bike tour trip. The biggest concern we had was that the group of 31 wasn't divided into two groups for cycling. This caused several safety issues when in high traffic areas.

The food and staff that served were very congenial, the chef was amazing,the ladies that were guides paced a little slow but taught us well a long the way, The captain servicerd the tandem so at least we could cycle

Our experience on the Magnifique III was wonderful. We travelled from Amsterdam to Bruges, e-biking along the route between berthing stops for our ship. The countryside was beautiful, and the attention to detail by the entire crew and the guides was impeccable. The food was amazing, and the bikes were dependable and comfortable. Having the opportunity to explore on our own, using the Ride GPS app, was great.

Leslie and the crew on the boat provided excellent service throughout the cruise. The bikes were in top condition and fit us perfectly. Even though we couldn't go to Budapest, the crew did everything they could to make our trip a success. The cabin was good although rather than two separate beds, we would have preferred one bed or a piece in the middle to make it like one bed. The food was great with lots of variety. We enjoyed Vinne who provided the music, We especially liked the Latin dancing and 70's and 80's party. The app with the location was very helpful on the bike rides.

Great time on bicycles, making it an adventure and vacation in one. The tour staff and those on the ship were super accommodating and friendly to ensure that we would have a wonderful trip.

This company and tour exceeded all expectations. The boat was beautiful and very comfortable. The tours were well thought out. The guides provided clear communication and were always available to answer any questions. The biking routes were stunning and the views pure joy! On top of that the chef was amazing and the staff attentive.

Ship was wonderful, crew was professional and very friendly, bike tour was good.

Stressful: there was a huge mixup in our reservation: we reserved for the Provence trip in 2026 and when we showed up at the boat it was discovered that the company reserved us for 2027!!! The problem was with poor communication between the various offices - Connecticut, Holland and Italy. Somewhere along the lines the reservation date was switched and not discovered.
Excellent: the company then was very helpful in finding a solution. We were lucky as there was space in one of the boats. (There was space on the boat til a few days before the tour as some of the guests were moved to our tour from the Bordeaux tour because of the fires. So we knew that the booking mistake was not on our side.) The staff - boat crew, chefs, guides were absolutely wonderful and fantastic. They were extremely professional, knowledgeable, helpful and nice. 5 stars for Alex and Michaela and crew!! Also the boats were very clean and the bikes (we had e-bikes) were in excellent condition.

Great experience discovering North Holland and the Friesland. Riding in the morning, sailing in the afternoon makes great days!

Combination of biking and transporting us to small villages was an unique experience.

If you are reading this and sitting on the fence about booking...just DO IT! I recently spent a week on La Mar, with daily cycling excursions from Amsterdam to Bruges. It was a top-notch experience.
La Mar is a spectacularly renovated barge with every comfort, quiet, roomy cabins and an incredible staff, led by Marnik. The crew provided so many 'added extras' and personal touches along the way which made us feel like part of their family. And the meals....gourmet delights, a fully stocked bar and tea, coffee, hot chocolate and treats available all day.
We were briefed daily by the friendly, knowledgeable and very experienced tour guides, with concern given to splitting the group to provide longer and shorter options when required. The personal connections that staff have with local providers, be it hotels opening up for us exclusively for a lunch and refreshment stop (including locally brewed beer), to museum tours etc contributed to a very special holiday. In addition, evening walks around towns where we were berthed, and in particular, guide Pim's historical knowledge, was so much appreciated. From what I can see, Boat Bike Tours build a culture of excellence across the business... sourcing experienced tour guides, providing reliable bikes and ensuring that boats and their crew are top-notch. It also appears that BBT staff are highly trained and valued by the business.
JUST DO IT!!!

Information about what to see while riding was very poor. Food for dinner was heavy - fried/gravy/sauce. Dining room far too crowded. Would not recommend this trip.
