Delivery issues

Ordered socks that are already unnecessarily expensive. I was supposed to get these within the 3-5 business days; however, inconveniently my order was delayed. I reached out to customer service and they were not willing to resolve the issue and and no regard for the inconvenience. Won’t be shopping with them again.

I have the same problem as others

I have the same problem as others on this website. Ordered their Something Special subscription ($217 for 6 monthly gifts) in December 2023 and so far have only received 1 gift (a 2024 planner that came in April). On my Brother Vellies account page it says 3 of the 6 orders have been fulfilled, but all I received was the planner. I have written customer service several times but have not gotten a response. I don't know if it's too late for my credit card to recover my payment, but I plan to look into it. Very disappointed.

FRAUD

FRAUD! Bought a Something Special subscription as a gift back in December 2023. When nothing was received in January 2024, I reached out to BV and was assured that the items were on the way. Nothing in February or March (despite reaching out to them several times). Finally in April they sent a low-end "journal" - and I expected the subscription to proceed from there. Nothing received in May, June, July, August or September. I have reached out repeatedly (to every email address including their media/PR addresses and social media accounts) and I have not received an additional responses beyond their automated email responses. I am SO disappointed as I was excited to support this small business and inspired by the founder Aurora's story after reading her memoir. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt for nearly a year and now have to conclude that they are intentionally defrauding consumers. I just hope, at least, that they are paying their artisan communities, since it's pretty clear they are ripping off consumers.

Stains and preworn when delivered

Bought shoes from them that cost me $195 only to have them arrive with stains and looks like they had been worn before. They were wrapped in a plastic bag, and thrown in a box, no BV branding or boxing. A very different experience to my 2022 pair. To top it all off, they asked me to print a UPS label and return the shoes, oh what a waste of my time... I was honestly about to throw them out in the trash before I saw a "friendly" email: "You haven't returned your items." Seriously? I get a disgusting pair of shoes, and now I have to waste my time returning said pair of shoes. Give me a break. Don't buy from here, don;t waste your time or money.

Scam Alert!

Ordered "Something Special" recurring gift in December 2023. Received day planner the following month then all shipments stopped. Tried to contact several times with no response. In April my bank refunded the purchase amount. As others have stated here, this business is not to be trusted, appears to be a complete scam.

I still have not received the first…

I still have not received the first item after 2 months. Multiple attempts to get a status update resulted in 1 “the item is coming from a war conflict zone”. After another few weeks of waiting, I reached out again for an update to both contact options. It is a week later and still no information. Monday I have to go to my back and try to get the money retrieved.

Complete scam

Complete scam. Signed up for the subscription box. For months received nothing and no response to multiple attempts at communication. Then after making a claim with my bank to recoup the charges, they send an email saying the subscription box was stuck in a war torn country. It arrived today and was only a poor quality planner (nothing else) that literally states it’s manufactured in the USA. SMH.

Fraud, Ghosting & Lack of Integrity

Brother Vellies has commited fraud against me, ignored my communications for months and failed to take responsibility for their behavior. Judging by their yelp review, google reviews, BBB reviews and Instagram comments, this is the norm. My situation is not unique.

Regarding fraud, I made a purchase on 4/20/2023 for $800 and have not received the boots. I knew it would take a few months per the internet post, but that date came and went with no item or communication. Taking someone’s money and not delivering the item is fraud.

Second, they have repeatedly ignored my emails. Sometimes for days, weeks of even months. The longest they ignored me was for 109 days— even though I reached out four times during that time period. In addition, they made claims that were easily proven false, e.g. we sent the boots to you but it got lost in transit. I have email proof where they said that the sent confirmation with ups tracking was an error, and the item was never sent. From this exchange, it was clear they couldn’t even read the records.

Last, even with a plethora of evidence proving how terrible of a customer experience this was, they made themselves the victim and blamed the experience on them being a small shop. I’m sorry, but no. I don’t get to use that type of excuse at my job, and neither do they. If you have time to post on Instagram, you have time to answer an email. If you have time to shop for $2,000 plants in LA, you have time to answer an email. What justifies ignoring a customer for 109 days?

BV prides themself on being a company built on integrity, but their actions say otherwise. They have no problem with taking peoples money and not delivering. It’s disheartening and disappointing. Expected so much more.

Insanely bad customer service and quality control

It took over a month to receive part of my order. I contacted them 3 times and heard no response. Finally received the second part over a month later and the item is in the wrong color, was just thrown in the bag without any sort of wrapping or tag and is covered in dust and hair. I have no idea how I will get a hold of them to get my money back.

This company is absolutely shameful

This company is absolutely shameful. I placed an order in September and it is now December and nothing has arrived. I was charged immediately. I have emailed customer service several times and I have reached out via Instagram and Facebook. Complete silence. I have heard nothing back.
They continue to post on Instagram and the founder auroa James will answer other comments on the post, ie size questions, availability etc. I have left comments saying how concerned I am and she along with the company says nothing. Buyer beware. This company should not be allowed to exist. Absolutely awful experience and I am out $500.

Unpaid Supplier resorting to court.

As a supplier for this company I'm appalled, we've had a terrible experience. They don't pay. If they treat their customers anything like they've treated us then there's something seriously wrong with management and whoever Aurora James is... she doesn't seem to care much.
We're resorting to a court case to get paid... we've made some basic requests and they've lied and lied and lied. If a company says a payment is 'lost' by the supplier's bank but can't provide basic bank information to help the supplier chase up the payment with their own bank... then the payment wasn't sent in the first place.
Shameful.

Terrible customer service & no delivery of order

I wish I had found the reviews here before I purchased online. It seems I have had a similar experience to others, terrible customer service, zero communication regarding preorders and delays to the extent that I had to dispute the charge with my provider. It’s been over 4 months since I ordered and was meant to get my boots within an 8 week window, there was zero communication until I lodged an initial dispute with my provider, they then promptly responded so I closed the dispute. Then crickets - I have now disputed the charge again and given up.

Terrible

Terrible. Their cloud socks are anything but a cloud. They are ridiculously expensive diabetic socks that the elderly wear.

Also, beware that they do not offer refunds for their below par merchandise, just a credit to buy more crappy products.

Don't waste your money here.

Terrible

Like another poster, I have had terrible experience with international delivery. It has been well over a month since I ordered and while I appreciate that international delivery takes longer, so far the parcel has been all over the US, to London (where I am), then to SINGAPORE and now is back in the US. I have no idea what’s going on, and they aren’t responding to any of my emails. These are expensive items, and I can’t help but feeling they can’t cope with their own demand.

BUYER BEWARE OF RETURN POLICY - NO REFUNDS EVEN IF ISSUES ARE THE FAULT OF SELLER

BUYER BEWARE - NO REFUNDS EVEN IF ISSUES ARE THE FAULT OF SELLER.

After seeing Brother Vellies' cloud socks promoted on a television show weeks prior to Christmas, I decided to support this small business by purchasing 4 pairs as Christmas gifts. The order was placed before Dec. 10 and it was clearly represented they would arrive before Christmas (otherwise I would not have ordered them). When, 2 days prior to Christmas, I realized the socks had not arrived, I researched the tracking information and was informed that they would not be arriving until after Christmas. At this point, they would do me do good as I did not personally need 4 pairs of sock and I would not be seeing the people I purchased them for after Christmas (note: I spent approx $150 on the 4 pairs of socks).
I reached out to the company and told them I the details of my order; explained to them the representations that had been made regarding delivery before Christmas; and explained to them that the socks would not serve me any purpose by arriving after Christmas. I acknowledged the shipping delays that were occurring throughout the country but also noted that I had received no update from the company regarding the delay in my order, nor was I ever provided the opportunity to cancel my order. I explained that 18 days was simply too long to wait for socks to be sent across the country to Southern California and I requested instructions on how to either cancel the order or return the socks upon their arrival and obtain a refund. Three days later, I received a generic response apologizing that I was disappointed in the shipping delays and concluding that "in accordance with their return policy," I could either have a credit or exchange for something else.
I completely understand a small business having a limited return policy that only allows exchanges or store credit - when the decision to return is made solely at the discretion of the buyer. However, that is not the case here. Brother Vellies must have known that the television promotion of their socks as a "holiday gift" would cause an increase in orders. Brother Vellies must have known that their increase in sock orders placed by new customers in December were intended as Christmas gifts; indeed, Brother Vellies represented the items would arrive prior to Christmas. The fact that they didn't arrive by Christmas may have been the fault of the seller or it may have been the fault of the shipper. But, it was definitely NOT THE FAULT of the purchaser. If Brother Vellies cannot meet its delivery obligations, its normal return policy should not apply. The fact that they are now sticking me with $150 worth of socks after Christmas (which would only cost me more money to send to the intended recipients) is ridiculous. It is poor customer service and a bad business practice.
