Really easy to get treatment approved with a good selection of physios. Very pleased with the entire process, no problems at all.

We have had Bupa health insurance through my husband’s work for almost 20 years to the cost of almost £200,000. In all that time, all they have covered is one wisdom tooth removal.
For the past MONTH I have been trying to access a simple psychiatrist appointment for my teenager, and they have done nothing but drown us in endless paperwork, bureaucracy, pointless triages and phone calls that go nowhere.
Bupa have poor access to actual medical services and medical professionals when you need them. Bupa is in my opinion a total sham. They profit off peoples vulnerabilities, and do not deliver what is promised.
None of the 3 psychiatrists offered are local. If and when we actually get an appointment, it will be via video call which is a very poor standard of professional healthcare. Do not waste your money.

I'd had a painful knee for around 4 months and it wasn't getting any better. I contacted BUPA and was given a video appointment with a physio who gave me easy to follow exercises to do on an app which showed videos. My knee has now recovered and the whole process was so simple.

Tried to get a consultation re a facial mole which appeared out of nowhere last summer . Used the Bupa app initially but said more information required so called the number given , described condition again and was told this condition not covered as no symptoms? Tried again this time for a Bupa online consultation sent a picture of the mole. someone from Bupa called me and was very helpful but it seems like unless the mole is itching, bleeding or some strange colour it’s seen more as a cosmetic issue. I aways thought they should be checked out asap -anyway the helpful lady did agree that I was covered to be seen by a dermatologist . Took about 2 weeks to sort out

I spoke to a lady called Jasmine who guided me through the process of getting a referral and pre-authorisation. I had not previously used Bupa and she took time to make sure that I understood the processes and timelines, doing so quickly, efficiently and with empathy. Excellent service.

The app makes booking appointments super easy, they also have really good availability.
Initial appointments have always been really good, the experience and professionalism of the doctors is to a good standard however making a booking once you’ve been referred isn’t overly clear to the point I didn’t book for my most recent referral.
I have also found if there is any reason for them not to cover you, they’ll take it but I guess that’s normal for insurance.

Everything was well explained, time was given, didn’t feel rushed. I felt I was listened to.

The process was simple. I made my dental appointment, had my treatment and when I went to check out they confirmed that the cost had all been covered by my insurance and that was it. No painful paperwork or need to pay then retrospectively claim. I've had a very different experience with other insurances.

Following a breast cancer diagnosis through the NHS, I’m so grateful that I have BUPA. In comparison it has felt like calm waters instead of being tossed on stormy seas, with choices, options and
I appreciate what the NHS have to do - they are the very best lifesavers in emergency, and cannot fault them, but I felt at diagnosis that it was the surgeon’s plan for major surgery and I had no choice but to go along with it.
Completely different approach to my private care through BUPA.
I have felt so care for and held as a whole person since I called to arrange private care instead.
The staff on the end of the line have been incredible. I even received flowers and a card from one of the cancer specialist team Sarah, a few days after I called with my initial diagnosis, which absolutely lifted my heart.
I would advise anyone in the same position as myself, upon finding a lump, not to go through your GP. Instead call BUPA immediately and you let the wonderful support carry you in the very best of hands

I’d been in agony with my shoulder and arm since a shingles vaccination and the GP said i needed an physio assessment. I rang Bupa , explained what was happening got an authorisation code and saw a physio a few days later . I had an assessment and first treatment . Without Bupa I would be waiting for an assessment with a month more of agony . Thankyou Bupa .

I cannot thank Bupa enough for the care and support I have received throughout my breast cancer journey. From the very beginning, they have been absolutely amazing. Every step of the process has been handled with compassion, professionalism, and genuine care, which made such a difficult time so much easier to face.
The support I received was incredible, I always felt listened to and supported. The doctors, nurses, and staff have all been kind, reassuring, and dedicated to providing the best possible care.
My experience with Bupa has truly been exceptional, and I am so grateful for everything they have done for me during this journey. I would recommend them to anyone needing care and support.
