The best of the best!

Sam was absolutely worth her weight in gold during pregnancy, labour and post partum. She is so knowledgeable and was always there for me when I needed her. She helped me have a wonderful healing home birth after a traumatic first labour. Sam advocated for me throughout and always had the right words

Meaningful spiritual blessing way

Sam facilitated my blessing way and it was an amazing day. I had a lot of ideas and Sam took the time to listen and talk though them all with me and help me create a really magical day. She produced a beautiful booklet collating everyone's contributions and even managed to add my sisters very last minuet poem. On the day she helped everyone to feel comfortable and to ensure we had time to fit everything in. I was really moved by all the thoughtful contributions people brought and I feel this was helped by Sam taking the time to communicate and prepare people in advance. It was a new experience to all my friends but everyone expressed afterwards how pleased they were to be part of it. It was a really moving experience and I felt really pampered and loved and still do.

Sam was our celebrant for our handfasting

Sam was our celebrant for our year and a day handfasting. We cannot wait for her to be our celebrant for our lifelong commitment this summer. Sam really hears what’s wanted, helps craft the ceremony and can put fears (my partner was very nervous) at ease. The ceremony was really beautiful, natural and calm. Exactly what we wished.

Fantastic advice and knowledge. Worth everything and more.

Amazing hour chat with Sam. Worth every penny and far more! Sam has such a broad variety of knowledge for many different areas and topics! A birth chat was the aim but we spent half the time talking about parenting and lifestyle too with much advice give by Sam in all areas. My partner is also going too book an hour with Sam to gain some knowledge about birth to help ease his own anxiety surrounding my upcoming birth and to find ways to assist/ advocate for me.

Highly recommended

Sam, the Doula who keeps on giving.

I stumbled across Sam and her free online support groups during my pregnancy with my second son. The support offered in her home birth and paid for free birth group is beyond priceless. Sam dedicates so much of herself to arming women with the knowledge that they have a choice. She signposts to most up to date research where it is required to help arm mothers in making informed choices. The obstetric world is a terrifying place with so much cruelty and coercion.
Through Sam I found my voice and learned that I had a choice in every step of my maternity care. I felt held by an absolute goddess I hadn’t met (at the time), and empowered to make the right choices for myself and my baby without being sucked into the bullying culture of NHS maternity care.
Sam, you are so appreciated and since the birth of my youngest continue to support me as you do with so many others! She will go above and beyond for anyone and a quick message offering guidance and advice is never to much. Sam does so much work for nothing, and I wish I could pay her back ten times over!
As my journey has continued I have attended the most beautiful retreat with Sam and had the most wonderful time just being in a room with other incredible women. Finally I am now moving towards women’s work and have completed my own Doula training. You would think that this is where the support may slow down. A Doula, a rival business? No, in no way would I ever come close to the work that Sam does and I am ok with that. But this is where Sam really stepped up her support. She is so passionate about holding women during some of the most vulnerable times of their lives that she runs a Doula directory, and continues to hold space and support us so we can weave our way out into the world and continue doing the work she is so passionate about. I was not trained by Sam but her way of working is one that resonates so closely with me. Sam is often more than generous with her time and energy. She has become a friend, I look up to her as an unofficial mentor and one day I hope to be half the woman and Doula that Sam is.
That is not to say we don’t have our moments, Sam has a big voice and continues to use it for the right reasons. There have been times she has put me right in my personal life, and I am eternally grateful that she is never afraid to speak her mind or say things as they are.
Sam, for the countless hours of your time you have given for free, for the times I have managed to provide an energy exchange and for all our future crossings. Thank you, you are valued, you are appreciated and I don’t know where I would be without you.

Sam is truly a gift to the birthing community.

Sam is truly a gift to the birthing community. She is so knowledgeable and kind. If anyone is/knows anyone who is feeling anxious or worried about anything to do with their birth, I couldn't recommend a chat with Sam more. She empowered me to feel confident and knowledgeable about my rights and wishes during labour, which enabled me to have such an amazing and relaxing birth.

A wealth of knowledge

Within the birthing world I believe there is very little that Sam doesn't know or hasn't experienced. I wish I had known of her before the birth of my first child - a lot would have been different.

Sam is a rare soul. A women's activist and a mother to us all

I found Sam through a facebook post about home birthing and joined her group to learn more.

I was having a really crap time with NHS maternity, they're not trauma informed AT ALL. Their attitude towards me because I disclosed abuse in the past, was shocking and at 10 weeks pregnant they saw fit to bully me into accepting inductions and interventions based on general statistics, rather than any actual diagnosis of a problem. And when I said no thank you, they threatened me with removal of my baby!! At 10 weeks pregnant!!

Obviously nothing came of it because a woman still has the right to choose the level of her care, here in England, but they didn't seem to know that!

So I was a bag of nerves, bereft and not enjoying my pregnancy when Sam just swooped in with her motherly love, her wisdom and guidance.

Her groups are full of evidence based articles, midwives, experienced mothers and everything you need to fight for your rights as a mother and as a woman!

No woman should have to do this, it is absurd. But the NHS is on its knees and sadly, midwives are burnt out and not performing at their best.

The support and love is incredible. There is everything you need for both mum and dad to empower you, give you strength and get you through.

Sam and I talked regularly both on the phone and on chat, whenever I needed her. No judgement and always with the power in my hands.

This is what a sisterhood is. Sam is not just a doula, she is a women's activist and she will be in the his(her)story books, because make no mistake, she is changing the birth world for the better.

Woman centred, supportive, trauma informed maternity care. This just does not exist in the NHS! (Yet!)

So what can you expect?

100s of hours of resources, access to videos, midwives, doulas and other mothers. Emergency care. Now this is so important!

What if you're on your own? And I mean, on your own in the actual hospital because of midwife and doctor shortages. Well, Sam has a course which tells you what to do, step by step. Let's face it, we hope we don't need it, but with the NHS as it is, it is worth having a plan, right?

I bought the course (less than £30) and my husband and I worked through it. We felt so strong afterwards. We didn't need it, but when my labour actually did take a funny turn, I knew what was happening and knew what treatment to expect, nothing was a surprise and so I felt confident and supported.

Knowledge is POWER sisters!!!

So I can't give Sam 100 stars. She deserves a knighthood quite frankly.

Apparently empowering women is controversial and so there are people that think she is meddling.

Ha! Come and join us. Join the cult of informed consent, of women's autonomy.

If I had listened to those doctors, my baby would have been born 5 weeks premature. All my babies are 42 weekers, that is my normal. My NHS team were brilliant and advocating for myself was hard, but worth it. I trusted my body so asked for help when I needed it. It is as simple as that!

My precious IVF rainbow baby was born at 42+1, alert and heathy.

If it wasn't for Sam, I would have had a miserable induction, a premature baby and both us suffering from birth trauma.

My daughter is 16 months and thriving, as am I. My husband and I will be forever grateful to Sam.

But I'm not even special! She has helped thousands of women through much, much worse!

Sam is a rare soul. Once in a lifetime. We are lucky to have her.

Sam is amazing!

Sam’s knowledge and experience is second to none. She’s always happy to help with any questions or concerns and gives amazing advice and support to expectant mums and birth workers alike. I’m always recommending that my clients give her a follow and read up as much as they can on all she has to offer.

Sam - a pioneer in leading women to birth the way they want ( and deserve !)

You encourage women to have body autonomy.

You encourage women to believe in themselves and to listen to their own intuition

I remember years ago I was sat in YYF in a and e with my son and you were with your youngest. I was reading mog the cat to my son and I was pregnant with my middle daughter. I was breastfeeding my son and daughter and I mentioned to you that " I wasn't allowed a home birth "

Well your face changed as soon as I said it . The passion and fire in your eyes - you told me to get on your home birth page on Facebook and that I had every single right to have a home birth . Best thing I have ever done is to have that conversation with you . It was the start of a real and very raw awakening

I've since had 3 more children since . Beautiful , unmedicated, healing homebirth. No consultants , no bright lights of hospitals . Just very supportive midwives and a whole village backing me

Sam has gone above and beyond for me

Sam has gone above and beyond for me. I wanted a chat to discuss my options after my baby turned breech in the 4 days before she was due. Her knowledge and generosity was priceless for me, at what was a very stressful time where I had to make big decisions quickly. I got the vaginal breech birth I wanted, Sam continued to check in with me and follow up to make sure I was OK after my baby was born. I also bought Sam's freebirth course which was invaluable and her homebirth group has been a real community support to me. Thank you Sam x

I was so glad I found Sam's course

I was so glad I found Sam's course, it prepared me for birth better than any midwife I spoke to or NCT course I did. I learnt about my rights to birth at home as well as what to do in case I ended up giving birth alone. Although this was not the plan, it's exactly what ended up happening as midwife arrived 15 minutes late! I was grateful to Sam for helping me be mentally prepared for the calm and peaceful birth of my son.

Incredible Support - Life Changing

This course (and all of Sam’s other free support) is incredible, this course is such a valuable resource to prepare for freebirth but even if not intending to freebirth its full of such valuable information. It helped me to prepare to freebirth my baby including taking responsibility had there been any emergencies et - it doesn’t shy away the things that can and do go wrong it prepares you as much as possible for those (unlikely) things. It really is life changing stuff
