Fantastic quality cat food, my cats love it! You can actually see the quality of the meat, it looks good enough to eat yourself! My cats used to be on your typical supermarket brands, and they always had dull fur and flakey skin. I was recommended Canagan and it's cleared everything up. I would never go back again now!

Good food and I am disappointed to have to leave a negative review.
Short version:
Canagan seems to be having a real issue with dented cans. And no, this is not happening when with the courier on its way to me (the inner and outer packaging/box is in PERFECT condition, zero signs of damage), it must be happening at manufacturer/factory packing.
I wouldn't buy dented cans off a shop shelf and I don't want them sent to me either, especially when paying £3.49 per can.
Long version:
I made two orders direct from the Canagan website in Jan and Feb. Both times I received dented cans (as I said above the outer box/packaging was perfect condition). Because it happened twice I sent an email to them about it. I was offered a refund which I accepted, but I was only refunded for 4 of the 5 dented cans.
Come March I decided to order some via a stockist website. The same thing happens, more dented cans arrived and (sorry to keep repeating but I feel it's important to know that this must be happening while being made at the factory) again the outer and inner box/packaging is in perfect condition.
I contact the stockist and they send out replacements but unfortunately more dented cans arrived... and wait for it... perfect outer packaging again.
Why are they being packed in the plastic wrap of 6 when they are dented? What has happened to quality control??? The dented cans should not be leaving the factory to then be sent out to customers.
It's a shame because Canagan is a good food and my dogs do great on it so I really don't want to change brands. So I won't be ordering online anymore. I'll have to go back to buying in person at a shop which is quite a distance away, but at least they never put dented cans on their shelves.
Update: in Canagan's reply to my review they said "Unfortunately, once they are passed onto DPD it is out of our control on how they handle the box during transit. We will pass this feedback onto them so that they are aware of the issue." - They clearly didn't read me write a total of THREE times that it is NOT due to the courier, because the boxes they were sent to me in were in PERFECT condition. Please tell me how a box of multiple 400g cans can get dented while in transit with the courier when the outer box is in pristine condition? It would be impossible. The outer box would have at least some damage to it... cans are made of metal but the cardboard box survives unscathed... it must be magic.
Sorry to sound rude but it's just frustrating how at the time and now in their reply they continue with the same old excuse to blame the courier and that they never send out damaged items.

Despite having previously given two 5* ratings for this dog food, it is very unfortunate that I now have to change my opinion of this dog food.
I fed Canagan dry dog food to my dog for years, and was very thankful that I'd found a dog food that didn't make my dog poop and poop. Then I noticed that my dog had begun to poop frequently again, but still ate the food without a problem. Unfortunately, I empty the dog food into a container and do not keep the bag that the dog food is packaged in, so I was unable to check whether or not any of the ingredients had changed. By the way, I always ordered the dog food direct from Canagan, so the problem wasn't due to old stock. All this happened around the time that I noticed that the company had moved production from the UK into Europe. (This move obviously took place well over 12 months ago.) I placed a few more orders, but the problem with my dog forever pooping continued.
Whatever happened with the new production process somehow changed the dog food. I'm assuming that the company moved production from the UK over into Europe in order to save money? It appears that I'm not the only pet owner that noticed this change in their pet following the production move. Whatever had happened to the dog food following this production move (besides changing the shape of the small breed kibble) was definitely not agreeable with my dog, and sadly I had to stop buying Canagan dry dog food.
I cannot understand why a company changes a perfectly good product that doesn't need fixing! In my opinion the change in the food was either down to the new production process, and/or possibly a change in the ingredients. Strange that the food suddenly became disagreeable (after the production move) to other pets in addition to my own dog, so I know that the problem wasn't purely down to the food being unsuitable for my dog! I'll reiterate that she'd been eating the food for years without any problems whatsoever.
Therefore, I now change my rating from 5* to 1*, because it would perhaps appear that the company changed the food in order to cut costs. Moreover, they unfortunately didn't take into account how that change might affect pets that were already accustomed to and very happy on the 'original' Canagan dry dog food. Even my vet told me that something had obviously changed with the Canagan dry dog food, for my dog to suddenly develop problems after years of eating the food.
Had Canagan not changed anything, then my dog would still be eating their dry dog food, and I'd still be a happy customer, but unfortunately that is not the case at all.
My experience with Canagan shows how a sudden change in the manufacturing of a pet food, can have a dramatic effect on the pets that have been accustomed to eating that food for years.

Great customer service. The food is obviously good because my 4 dogs will not eat anything else. We’ve been feeding them the food for the last 9 years and never had any issues. My dogs are thriving on it.
Because of this, I now sell the food in my small pet shop and it is by far my best selling product!
Cannot commend enough

Our cat Pepper has loads of allergies, mostly skin irritation. Canagan dry kibble has sorted it out without vets bills. She even gets a daily tin of Ocean Fish wet food as a boost for her coat. Now I have just picked up the Softees to see if she will like them as they are so much healthier than supermarket stuff. They actually have real meat in!

Really good dog food, with fast dispatch and delivery. Boba has a very fragile stomach but he's never had any issues with the food from Canagan. We use a mix of dry and wet food as well as the food toppers.
It's common for dogs to suddenly develop food intolerances even if they have regularly had something before, do your research before reading some of the unfair reviews here.
Would recommend.

We love Canagan! My small dog Molly has the small breed dry food and it suits her extremely well. Her skin and coat are the best it’s ever been and she absolutely loves the kibble and its size. We love all the flavours, especially the salmon!

I have a very fussy 8 year old Yorkshire Terrier who has also has a problem with his tummy and vomiting after food. He looked very thin with not a lot of energy. Every food I bought he ate one day but refused the next. I have since put him in Picollo and what a difference!! He eats twice a day without fail, no sickness and lots of energy. Absolutely chuffed with this product, thank you Canagan 😊

Fab dog food!! Grabbed some from my local pet shop to try something new and my little pup just loves the stuff! Which is incredible since he’s so fussy!

Great food. Used both dog and cat versions. I mix wet and dry. They are really healthy and happy
Always buy from my independent pet shop to support them as prices are the same as buying direct

I have always fed my dog Canagans. We began feeding our puppy on the wet puppy feast cans to begin with but now she's a bit older we are continuing with the same range but trying the many alterative flavors they sell. We find the texture is of great quality and it smells good too.

This food has completely changed my dogs skin, coat and behaviour. I have been feeding the small breed dental (which also helps keep her teeth nice and clean)
Her coat is so soft!
Really happy with it!

Brilliant product, I have fed various flavours in the Canagan dog range and all of them have helped my dog with his tummy issues, he now has great poos and no more runny ones.
Couldn’t praise them more, thank you for a great product.

My dog has been on this for years now he has the Salmon dry, his coat is so soft and shiny!
He also is the perfect weight!
Such a good food and is so much more cost affective than cheaper brands because the quality is so good you feed less!

In our experience, everything Canagan offers has always been great quality and agreed with the dogs tummy's. The delivery is always very quick and the dogs seem to love every flavour/treat/variation of every they have to offer.

Great products! I feed my cats with the salmon and the dental dry cat food, which they love. Also use the tins for their dinner as have a huge variety of flavours and contains chunks of real meat and fish inside.
No more sensitive tummy's and constant cries of starvation from my three fluffy kitties now.

Canagan has changed my dogs life, he went from a fussy brown tear stained boy to white and bright, with a love for his food, he’s also got more energy, his overall appearance and health has never been better, I only wish I could share the photos on here
