I have got a very good quality of service from all the staff who has assisted me in the management of my flat, with a special mention for Jessica Jimenez who has been my property manager over the past two years: she was helpful, courteous, competent and solved any issue to my full satisfaction.

Finally a lettings agency worthy of praise. The Richmond office is a well organised and professional operation with the opposite of a cookie cutter approach and a solid appreciation of individual circumstances.

Thank you so much to Kevin at the Barnes office. We are now finally settled into our new home, and the whole process was made so much easier because of Kevin’s support, professionalism, and patience throughout.
From the very beginning, he really listened to what we wanted and was always approachable, proactive, and reassuring. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and he genuinely went above and beyond every step of the way.
Kevin is an absolute credit to Chestertons, and we would wholeheartedly recommend both him and the Barnes office to anyone looking to move. Thank you again for helping us find a home we truly love. - Hanna & Max

The team have been incredible from start to finish. Francesco has been brilliant at triaging our questions, and Oliver has been incredibly responsive and helpful with any issues that we faced. I would 100 percent recommend renting through Chestertons and will be using them going forward consistently!
After renting for 5 years in London, and dealing with multiple agencies, these are by far the best I have experienced. Professional, helpful, and always consistent with their service.

I have managed to resolve the below issues with Chestertons. The resolution was well handled and I appreciate their support through the process.
---
I've been letting my property out with the Property Management team at the Chestertons Wandsworth branch for the last 18 months, and have had several problems throughout the period.
I had initially thought these issues were typical for any property, and tried my best to give Chestertons the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, as these issues accumulated, I soon learned that these problems were being amplified, and sometimes even caused, by Chestertons' approach to property management.
Chestertons have exhibited the same pattern of behaviour across every issue I have faced with my property:
- A lack of ownership in sourcing competitive quotes (leaving me to do this myself)
- Consistently poor handling of issues despite clear evidence and contractual backing
- Refusal to accept responsibility when outcomes did not align with earlier guidance
Before going any further, I would like to strongly advise anyone who is looking to let out their property to look elsewhere, and not fall into the same trap that I did.
---
While there are many examples of this negligence, there is no better example than a recent event where Chestertons backed me into a corner and forced me to pay ~£3,000 for damages that I had absolutely nothing to do with:
- One day I received a note saying my tenants had applied undue force and smashed my kitchen door
- The contractor confirmed this undue force wasn't necessary: "I'm 100% sure we would have been able to open the door without doing any damage to the glass."
- Chestertons agreed, but were unable to perform their duty of pursuing the tenants for the cost
- This resulted in material unplanned costs (~£3,000) to make the broken door safe, source a replacement door, and fit it
At the time Chestertons steered me towards paying for an entire new door and then to seek recovery of the money through the deposit post tenancy. That was of course until I actually paid. After payment, this position completely flipped, and I was advised recovery was unlikely.
Interestingly it has taken me a while to write this review as I have been occupied by finding a contractor to address another issue in my flat - an activity that should be fully owned by Chestertons given I am paying a premium for a managed service, but one that they are unable to perform.
I really hope Chestertons are able to resolve this in an appropriate manner and meet the standard that their reputation holds them to. I have escalated internally and am currently waiting to hear back.

Sarah, based in Putney, has managed various tenancies for us and she has always been incredibly responsive and friendly with it.

I had a very disappointing and stressful experience with Chestertons and would strongly caution others to be careful.
I used their service to rent a property and paid both rent and deposit in good faith, trusting their process and professionalism. However, after payment, the landlord changed the locks and I was not able to access the property at all. Despite this serious issue, Chestertons failed to properly manage the situation or protect me as a tenant.
Instead of taking responsibility, I was told to deal directly with the landlord, even though I had no prior relationship or direct agreement with them. As a tenant, I relied on the agency to handle the process, but they effectively stepped back when the problem occurred.
Because of this:
* I lost money (rent, deposit, moving costs)
* I suffered significant stress
* I had to take legal action and go to court
* My plans to move were completely disrupted
This experience felt extremely unprofessional and poorly handled. Communication and support were lacking at the most critical moment.
While I understand that estate agents sometimes act as intermediaries, I believe there is still a duty of care toward clients, especially after taking payments. In my case, that duty was not met.
I hope the company improves its handling of tenant protection and accountability in such situations.

I had a visit that was late by an hour. I didn’t mind too much at the time. But the fact that it’s been a week I’ve been told I’ll get an email of the valuation. Called and spoken to people online and over the phone and I’ve still not heard anything other than we’ll get back to you. Or you’ll receive it tonight.
Danny Duran provided an outstanding service for a property in vauxhall. I would Highly reccomend him and his team.
Great guy!
Been dealing with Oliver Slater at Chesterton's for over a year now. Great service - very communicative, quick to respond, and has instructed plenty of contractors to come and solve issues for us. Thanks for all the support.

Tatiana has been an absolute standout, truly unlike any other property manager I’ve worked with. She’s consistently responsive, incredibly efficient, and always willing to go the extra mile. On top of that, she’s genuinely lovely to deal with, which makes the whole experience seamless and a pleasure from start to finish.

We recently sold our property via Chestertons and Soraya Jackson was our contact within their Battersea Rise office in Clapham. Soraya was very easy to deal with, maintaining a high level of professionalism and cheerfulness whilst having to deal with various challenges on the way. We had a time deadline on the sale and Soraya made sure that both parties were kept informed and motivated to achieve this goal. All in all, excellent service with a great result. Thank you!

Incompetence throughout. We were pushed into signing and moving in within a few days, we were told lies about issues with the contract when raised. They left furniture in the flat when we moved which they didn't bother to remove for a week afterwards. One of our keys doesn't work and they've failed to replace it. We have an ongoing maintenance issue which has been going on for over a month with no end in sight as they want to pursue baseless accusations, leading to a working relationship were we are unlikely to report issues in future due to their utter lack of competence.

I contacted Ioana before our move-in into a Chestertons property and had a great experience, she was very kind and helpful.
I asked for some assistance regarding the inventory list of our new property, with some quite specific questions, and she called me back with a few hours with detailed answers. Thank you for your help Ioana!

Vanessa Newman-Wright was our Property Manager and she was thorough, proactive and incredibly supportive. She was great at helping flag any issues that needed resolving and would help in ensuring that there was parity on both sides. She was always reasonable and helped us find solutions immediately! Thanks Vanessa!
