Christy’s - made in China.
Christy’s give the impression from their web site that your buying a quality made hat from a traditional hat maker. Revived my cap only to find it’s made in China.
Stop all this misleading marketing bull.
I suspect another company run by bean counters.
Hat returned for refund.
Excellent qualiy, worth the money and the wait.
Order a baker boy cap in Late November, received it within 2 weeks, which very fast form my country. Very pleased with the quality of the material and build. Can recommend it!

I ordered a hat weeks ago, I never got a conformation mail or any shipping information. After a week I contacted customer service, I was told that the package was delivered 4 days ago. I told them it wasn’t. So they then told me that they would contact the courier, and get back to me. They never did. So I tried to get in touch with them several times afterwards , but they just ghosted me.
Worst and most amateur service I’ve ever had.

Hugely disappointed
I thought I would replace my 20 year old Christy's cap. Found what appeared to be a similar one. When it arrived it was nowhere near the quality I expected, a thin poor quality product and MADE IN CHINA !
Christy's must have long gone in mergers and aquisitions and it is now predominantly an internet retailer operating out of a lock up in Witney but trading on the Christys name selling chinese goods. So sad. To be fair service was good as was returns. I now have a Harris Tweed British made quality product from elsewhere, and cheaper!

Quite frankly I have never had to deal with the level of incompetence or worse still, a complete disregard for their customers. Real shame as I love the hats and have many, no more will be purchased by myself because quite frankly the aftercare offered is laughable.

What an awful website
What an awful website, tried on several occasions to place an order only for their site to loose my details. When I tried to contact them all I received was the a limp "due to covid we're rubbish at customer service" email. Totally fed up with this site, utter rubbish. If they've been around since the 1700s it a miracle that they haven't gone bust sooner!

Being a Dane I have always admired…
Being a Dane I have always admired british style, tradition and craftmanship.
I therefore wanted to buy an english flat cap of good quality. I chose a Balmoral flat cap from Christys of London. I liked it very much and bought another Balmoral cap from Christys.
I was happy with my english hats until I happened to read what was written in very tiny letters in the hat: "made in the republic of China".
I am very dissapointed. I think Christys of london really ought to let the customers know where their hats are made or may be change their name to Christys of Hongkong.

I can only echo the complaints…
Update: No response to a second email, so I called and spoke to someone. They were very apologetic and have agreed to sort it out. So my advice is to use the phone, rather than rely on email if you have an issue. I have upped my rating on account of good telephone service and good hats.
Original review: I can only echo the complaints regarding customer service. I wish I had read these before ordering.
I ordered a hat on 28 December to be delivered to the Prince's Arcade store. On Monday 13 January, I was sent an email telling me it had been delivered, and signed for. Made a trip into London to pick up the hat, only to be told that it had not been delivered, blaming DPD for the problem. I emailed Christys' customer services on 14 January asking what was going on. Almost a week later, I have yet to receive any response to my email.
The hats in the shop looked good, just a shame their customer service is utterly abysmal. If you must buy, buy in person and avoid online ordering like the plague.

Awful and should avoid. I bought a £50 hat that I expected to be considered when packaged. In turn it was rolled up and placed in a thin grey bag as if it was £10 amazon purchase. Terrible. Avoid go somewhere else.

Original Baker Boy Caps “Genuine Merchandise” & Great Quality.
My husband and I visited Christys Hat Shop in Princes Arcade in London on Saturday and were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who made us feel most welcome. The purpose of our visit was to look at / purchase a “Bakers Boy Cap” we were shown different fabrics and colours, as we live in Somerset it was more beneficial to try them on rather than buy on line, I have purchased on line before from Christys and no problem, but this was beneficial as the sizes did vary, the assistant was very patient saying there was no hurry. In the end I bought 2 caps which I am very happy with. It was a real pleasure to visit this quaint little shop and to be served by an assistant who had an extensive knowledge of the items on sale.

I ordered the above online on Friday the 27th, September. I requested Saturday delivery for which I was charged a premium. On the online check-out I used a discount code that gave 20% off the total gross order value and duly put processed my card details. The amount showing on the screen to be debited from my card appeared correct but after processing the payment it had doubled the order and sent me a confirmation of the same showing I was to be charged £567 (before discount and delivery). I immediately emailed Christys' informing them of this bazaar error but as yet are yet to receive a response or more importantly a refund back to my card or indeed the delivery. On Monday 30th, September so that the order could be stopped and so that I didn't receive 2 identical hats I telephoned customer service and was assured that the order would be corrected and that I would receive my refund and a confirmation email. 5 days later - nothing.
I will gladly delete / revise this review if someone could please telephone me today with the assurance of: 1. an explanation as to how the order was doubled and how I was charged twice despite what appeared to be the correct value showing on the online checkout. 2. Assurance that the order has been corrected with the 20% discount applied and my refund processed 3. An accurate date as to when the hat will be despatched.
As someone else has commented, quite appalling customer service from what many consider to be an old established institution.

Pure Excellence for Service and Quality of Product
I ordered a Limited Edition "St George Panama Snap Brim Hat" in July for a wedding, A family one in Tuscany Italy in September.
It was my Sisters Son getting married and his best man who's father happenened to be a COUNT with a Castle up in the montains, which was the venue for the wedding.
The dress was "Chabby Chic", The british contingent sat together and made our own "Hat Stand with the live Trees surrounding the dining area outside.
Boy!, What attention the Hat drew, by the Italians, it was tremendous, especially to be "Flying the Flag at the wedding.
Christy's service was second to none. Extremely efficient, Superb Quality of Product and the Packaging alone was a work of Art.
A very comfertable Hat to wear and attracts a lot of attention.

I ordered a Witan Trilby hat on the 3rd…
I ordered a Witan Trilby hat on the 3rd of September, on the 6th I received an email telling me that my order would be delayed because they had experienced a problem whilst installing "exciting" new software. I telephoned Customer Services a few days ago and was informed that my order should be ready Wednesday or Thursday, and I would receive it on the Friday, unfortunately I wasn't informed what week that applied to, because it seems my hat is still being processed. Once upon a time this company was a well regarded Hat Maker, with a distinguished name I know, because I knew one of the Directors when they had a factory in Stockport, now it looks like the management could not care less about the customer and I am seriously considering cancelling my order and going to Lock and Co. This is truly appalling, for god sake get your act together.

Great customer service
Could not disagree more about some of the comments posted on here. I ordered two hats and only realised once purchased that they would take a week to be made and then sent out. I needed one of the hats for a wedding the following week, and i called Christys to let them know of this. They advised would look into getting my hats to me sooner and i received a call back the same day saying i would receive my hats before the wedding.

In short I bought a Panama hat, and have yet to recieved it. Money has been taken from my account. After more than 3 weeks I have still not recieved the item. I would be ok with this, however I have emailed them to query the status of the order twice, over the period of the last fortnight, and recieved no response.
The courier service they use have stated they have recieved no parcel, despite recieving an email to the contrary from Christy's.
I have been a repeat customer of Christy's for a number of years and am frankly disgusted with the distinct lack of customer service I have recieved to resolve this issue.

Absolutely atrocious so far
Absolutely atrocious so far. Hat ordered over 2 weeks ago and apart from an order confirmation, no order delivered or other communication.
Sent a chaser email three days ago and still no reply. I honestly thought Christy’s were a reputable British institution but whoever is tuning this shambles of a Company needs to get a grip with the most appalling customer service and delivery times I’ve ever encountered. I see by recent reviews my experience is by no means unique.
