About ClearLoans

Information provided by various external sources

ClearLoans - Comparison Rate 43%

Decisions made by real people

ClearLoans doesn't just let computers decide if you can have a guarantor loan. The most important thing is that you have a friend or family member who trusts you enough to guarantee to make repayments if you don't, and that you can afford to repay the loan.

No Fees or Charges

ClearLoans doesn't charge fees for applying for a loan, paying your loan off early or making a late payment. The only thing you pay is the interest agreed before the loan is paid out.

A cheaper way to borrow

Our guarantor loans are around 30th of the interest rate of a payday loan and are regularly featured by price comparison sites as one of the cheapest options for anyone borrowing $3,000 - $15,000 with a low credit score.

Paying off your guarantor loan

We've thought of as many ways as possible for you to repay your guarantor loan. Regular payments are made by Direct Debit, but you can also pay by card over the phone during office hours. Interest is calculated daily so you only pay for the time you have the loan. If you pay the loan off early, you pay less than the agreed amount, even if you pay just $1 off early, you stop paying interest on that money immediately.

BEWARE OF THESE LOAN SHARKS

Getting a loan from these loan sharks was the worst mistake of my life. They take and take and take. In the past 6 months they have taken approximately $2000 worth of fees. They stuff up more times than can be helped. They took a double payment from me 6 months ago. Clear loans told me that if I get a bank statement to them they will refund me the reversal fees. Which I did and guess what they have never given me a cent. They send you texts to let you know that a payment is coming out and if it lands on a public holiday or a weekend they will take take it out on the next business day. Guess what this month it landed on a Saturday. So, I thought that to make things easier on clear loans and myself I paid it with my bank card. If you pay the correct amount before the due date that was supposed to stop the payment coming out. Guess what? These guys still took their money out. So instead of paying 351.51 they took 703.02. These guys tried to take the money and run. I have caught these bustards red handed. You guys better refund me the $351.51 that you have willing and knowingly stole from me by tomorrow as you have promised. Stay away guys.

Hi Abbey-Marie,

We're sorry to hear that you're unhappy and I can see that our Collections Team have recently been in contact to try and help resolve the matter.

When a loan is paid out, we attempt to collect the customer’s payment on the monthly date they have chosen, using the payment details they have provided and authorised us to use. We do this automatically so that customers are not required to manually check up on their loan each month, but we understand that our customers may also wish to pay extra or early, from time to time.

If a customer does accidentally overpay and put their account into credit, we are able to refund this credit once the payments have cleared. We understand that accidents happen and our team is available to help put things right.

In regards to the loan itself, we do not charge any early payment fees, early settlement fees or late payment fees. We also have an interest cap in place to stop anyone paying more interest than they agreed to, including yourself. The fees you have referred to are in fact the interest you have agreed to repay over the loan term, which we show on your statement so that it is open and clear about how your loan is progressing.

Should you wish to discuss this matter further, please contact us at complaints@clearloans.com.au and one of our team will be happy to assist you further.

Kind regards,

Kelsey @ ClearLoans

They will constantly message you if you miss a payment but cannot message you back for helping you out. They pride themselves on a “responsible lender” however they have not done anything to help me. I am a guarantor for someone’s loan and honestly it was a huge mistake saying yes.

Please understand any positive reviews written on here are most likely from the company and not genuine customers. Predatory lending to say the least. I hope they start shredding their documents soon because ACA will be knocking on their doors any minute. These people have ZERO FLEXIBILITY.......ZERO! They are RUDE, INCOMPETENT and FORCEFUL. They justify their lending by saying they give people a chance when no one else will. But the truth is, they target the most vulnerable people in society and harass them into paying if they and their guarantor can't. Both me and my guarantor lost our jobs, same week, really sucked...obviously. They don't care, they said pay the bill or we will take legal action to take your guarantors house. This was three days after one $398 payment was missed....ONE PAYMENT!!!!! They should be shutdown. Not to mention taking payment from me and my guarantor multiple times.

Hi,

Thanks for getting in touch and we're sorry to hear that you're unhappy.

Any positive review you see on our profile is from a genuine customer, as Trustpilot operates a detailed compliance policy to ensure that companies cannot abuse the integrity of reviews. In addition to any positive reviews we have, we appreciate the opportunity to look into negative reviews further, as this is what helps us understand what has gone wrong and to ensure we can continue to provide the best customer service possible!

Our application process involves detailed checks and conversations with all of our customers, as we not only want to help people obtain reasonable credit when they have been declined elsewhere, but it's very important to us that every customer can speak with us directly and make sure they're confident in continuing. We're always upfront with every customer about the loan they're taking out and we never pay out a loan if we do not believe it would responsible to do so.

Our guarantors have agreed to back up the borrower and to step in for any missed payments immediately, but this doesn't mean that we can't consider reasonable options if someone's finances change. We know these are uncertain times and so we're committed to listening and working with any customer towards fair and practical solutions.

As you have not left any personal information with your review to help us investigate further, I would kindly ask that you email 'complaints@clearloans.com.au' with more details and at your earliest convenience, in order for us to assist you further.

These people are terrible and have…

These people are terrible and have caused so much trouble with my family!!!! My partner was stood down for 2 months due to covid and prior to that he was also on and off at first they didn't even want to help at all and i had to also keep explaining myself to numerous of people whom seemed to have no idea whatsoever even though there should be notes on file. Always got told there was nothing they could do and pretty much just shoved it in our faces saying we will just go to your guarantor that was always there answer even though telling them that they are also struggling. They never get back to you but yet if they want something from you your strictly told to have it within 48hrs. I had enough so put a complaint in with the AFCA so then they all of a sudden reduced my payments however since then they have continuously still kept stuffing me around and keep sending us and my guarantor emails and messages saying its not getting paid when it is and the money has been coming out, they have been informed and said they would fix it but yet again it still keeps happening and ive completely had enough now..oh and not to mention they say the money will come out one day and then doesnt come out until 2 weeks after that day. It is creating numerous amount of family problems and what they are doing is against contract policy as guarantors shouldn't be contacted if payments are being made! So i will yet again be filing another complaint as there people are nothing but a disgrace and money hungry thieves!!!!! They do not even deserve 1 star. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THESE PEOPLE

THEY DO NOT HONER THERE WORD

They do not honer there word.
They promised me to remove the 3 listings on my credit file if I was to remove my bad review.
It’s been 2 months now and still has not been removed.
When I contacted clear Loans they said they sent the request through and that I had to email the credit reporting body to have it removed fully which is absolute bull. They are the ones who have to have it cleared.

This is all because I got declined for a loan and was told I could try again straight away. I did that 3 times and all 3 times went on my credit file.
BE VERY CAREFUL PEOPLE. They are not to be trusted and I have the emails the prove it

They do not actually deserve a star. They are rude, unreasonable, you can not contact them, but they can you.

Their advertising is lies. They do not improve your credit rating - speak with any bank and they will tell you that it actually makes your credit rating worse.

DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER CLEAR LOANS FOR YOU DEBT.

Hi Alecia,

As a guarantor lender, we believe in giving people a second chance to obtain a loan that will suit their needs and that will be completely affordable for them, without judging them solely on a computerised credit score. Our loans can frequently be used for debt consolidation, in order for someone to streamline their finances into one easier monthly payment and to look towards rebuilding their credit history.

DON’T GO THERE ..

So basically I got a loan through ClearLoans probably the worst mistake i could possibly have made. At the beginning of the application myself and my guarantor found ourselves upset with the amount of questions we had to answer which was pretty full on. I have had loans before with other companies and have never had to deal with this ever. When the covid hit they were understanding with my circumstances and I called a month before I knew I was being stood down everything on my end was handled so I could get my finances in check, when it got closer to my normal payment date this is when I started getting frustrated with them i got 3 different employees call me without understanding my situation which I had expressed in the first call and one of them had left notes in the system explaining what was going on. And then I received another call and then another, then started getting text messages are they incompetent? Can they not read notes. I paid the car in FULL once work started again to not have to deal with them. So for anyone looking at dealing with them please don’t for your own sanity.

Hi Vernell,

Thanks for getting in touch and we're sorry to hear that you're unhappy, as we were glad to have been able to help you out with this loan and give you a second chance when other lenders may have already said no because of a computerised credit score.

At ClearLoans we believe it's important to run the right checks during any application so that we can be sure both the borrower and guarantor are happy with the loan, their repayments, and can comfortably afford the payments over the loan term they have chosen. By completing thorough checks, we can ensure we are lending responsibly at all times.

We know these are uncertain times and we're committed to listening and working with any customer towards a fair and practical solution if their situation has changed, however, I can see that you have now settled your loan early and as you only ever pay interest for the time the loan is active, this means you have made a saving on interest.

Kind regards,

My application has been accepted and my guarantor and I have both signed. They asked us to call and haven’t picked up the phone. I waited 4 hours on the phone and got hung up on. We’ve called 5 times over the last 2 days and have waited 12 hours all up. I’ve also emailed and I haven’t answered. If I could get someone to contact me that would be great. Hi Scott,

We're sorry to hear that you're unhappy as we know these are uncertain times and we're committed to listening and working with any customer towards a fair and practical solution if their situation has changed.

When any borrower finds themselves in a difficult situation, it's important to remember that we asked them to have a friend or family member backing them up as the guarantor and to step in for any missed repayments. As there is someone supporting the borrower and who would be affected by any change to the loan, we do make sure to keep our guarantors up to date in case they are able to help out and also increase the available options that we can discuss when looking at any solution. We have a range of options available to help any borrower, but all we ask is that you first work with us openly towards considering all potential solutions if you find yourself in a difficult position.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find your account based on the name you have given, so please respond to my private message as soon as possible, as we'd like to see what we can do to help.

Money sucking thieves

Money sucking thieves! During COVID-19, they were not willing to help support with temporary payment relief. Instead, they just take the payment from my guarantor who was reluctant to help at first and ClearLoans never attempted taking the money from my account. Interest rates are outrageous and clearly the put their own reviews in. Everyone I have spoken to has said the same, that they are unethical and blood sucking thieves.
