Wet Belt replacement
After having no luck with a garage, we booked through ClickMechanic and Scott came out to replace the wet belt on my Vauxhall Crossland. He kept us informed throughout, was punctual, and worked efficiently completing the job in just 1.5 hours. The whole experience was stress-free and the quality of work was excellent. Booked a pre-purchase vehicle inspection. Cheaper than other companies, and also easier to book as it's online. They also had more time slots available, and quicker.

Poor quality cheap parts
I'll start with the positives, website easy to use and booking process straightforward. Price quoted seemed reasonable too for 2 x driveshaft replacements. Mechanic arrived and was faultless and grafted for almost 5hrs before admitting defeat due to the poor quality parts he had been provided by Clickmechanics's preferred supplier. The drive shaft he fitted did not fit correctly and the tolerances were all out, the mechanic rightly removed it and replaced the original as he did not feel comfortable using the part supplied. The other 'new' drive shaft supplied had been used and was missing seals and other fittings, presumably someone else tried to fit it and experienced the same poor fitting problem and returned it, shocking that they would them send it back out as new. Felt really sorry for the mechanic who grafted for hours and won't now get paid. I cannot recommend Clickmechanic if they insist on supplying the cheapest parts possible that are cheaply sub standard and have no quality control.

Unfortunately, our automated quote engine got it wrong in this instance (super-rare, but it can happen!), and we do sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.
It's a shame that the other part appeared to be used - that is something we definitely do not condone! All parts provided by our partner mechanics must be new and of a good standard.
Some key points to bear in mind:
• ClickMechanic operates as a marketplace, so the contract for the work is with the mechanic
• Mechanics on the platform are independent and manage their own work, part/s sourcing and warranties
• All mechanics are vetted for qualifications, experience, and insurance
Please be assured that your booking is now cancelled without charge, and we will also ensure that the mechanic is compensated for their wasted time.
In the hope that you change your stance on us and give us another go in the future, we'd gladly offer you a discount on another booking as goodwill.
