VIN is a dishonest individual who provides misleading information over the phone and says whatever is necessary to gain your attention. I was told that if any information in the advertisement turned out to be false, or if there were faulty or missing parts, they would investigate the issue, assist in resolving it, and refund the auction fees if required. I was also assured that they would support me throughout the entire process.
Unfortunately, once they received their money, everything changed. My calls and messages were ignored, and no assistance was provided. This level of unprofessionalism towards both buyers and sellers is extremely disappointing. I strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with this auction company, as the information provided can be misleading.
A friend of mine also had a negative experience while selling his car through them. He was pressured into lowering his reserve price after being told there were interested buyers actively bidding on the vehicle. In the end, the reserve price was never met, yet he still sold the car for far less than what he originally expected.
For buyers, individuals like Vin may contact you and exaggerate the condition or features of a vehicle simply to encourage bidding. However, once the auction is completed and the fees are paid, communication and support seem to disappear completely

Seems exorbitant reserves kept, in all auctions and will end in cars not getting sold there. None of the bidders in four auctions that I participated reached the reserve. So, it means the reserves are above the market expectation, and this site is a wate of time.

I’ve used CollectingCars now on two occasions for purchases, both times has been an absolute nightmare. They’re quick to take your funds from your account as soon as you have the winning bid at auction but the after sales care is non-existent. Seller actively deceived me and stated no damages to vehicle “photos were just taken on a dewy morning” yet once the car arrived to me it had extensive damage in the exact areas I had queried prior to payment. Once bringing this issue up with their agent handling that listing he went cold and me and am not even getting replies anymore, said it had been referred to Customer Care and they’re based in the UK and they’d reach out within 48hrs, it’s now been nearly 4 days and I’ve yet to hear anything from anyone. Extremely disappointing. Avoid business with these individuals as clearly their only priority is getting paid, not providing any after sales support.

Great company really professional made it happen very easy

I recently used this service to sell my car registration and Fynn Stewart managed the whole process for me and he was absolutely brilliant! From start to finish it was incredibly smooth and straightforward. Excellent communication and support from the collecting cars team. Ethan provided me with excellent support during the selling process of my car. The photos by Jonny were brilliant which really helped sell the car giving buyers the confidence to purchase my classic ford using the collecting cars platform. This is the first time I used collecting cars and would use again and hope Ethan will be my consigner again.

A great experience all round, especially when compared to trying to sell a car myself. Collecting cars and Jarod arranged everything from photos to qualifying buyers who wanted to view/ arrange PPI’s. I was kept across the campaign the whole time, and felt informed. My car passed in at auction, and I was delighted to find that Jarod had immediately gone into negotiations with all buyers, and manage to arrange a deal that worked within a matter of hours. Very impressed, will definitely be listing the next car with them. Highly recommend, this is the future of selling cars.
