This review is in relation to the coop funeralcare in Walthamstow. We went there to arrange a headstone for our dad. A job we were told was expected to take five months actually took over a year. The process was continually stalled and only ever progressed when we went into the shop to enquire about it. Communication was terrible and the job was only completed when we made a formal complaint. The outcome of the complaint was that they would prioritise this work and reduce our final invoice to reflect the poor service. They never sent a final invoice but then called to complain we had an outstanding invoice. I was so disappointed in the service from this branch and, as I am at an age when I’m more likely to be invited to a funeral than a wedding, I will be sure to make sure my peers are aware of our experience.
Personal Funeral Planning is not easy but it was sympathetically carried out.

Everything was explained beforehand, i e the purpose in recording, what different kinds of plans were available and what they individually provided. Also there was a cooling off period and changes that could be made if required. Done and dusted and now my mind is resting in peace.

I trust this company more than other funeral plans. I was a bit disappointed that they only have phone lines from 9-5 M-F for prepaid funeral plan enquiries. It took me several phone calls and emails to get a clarification on the discount I received on my plan that needed to be purchased by 31/8. This was because the deadline fell on a bank holiday Monday. To be fair Co op Funeral Service did contact me by phone on Saturday to set up my plan but I preferred to complete the transaction online that I had already started. In the end I was very happy and saved about £600 on my Silver Funeral Plan! I feel really pleased that I set up this plan with interest free payments over 1 year. The phone and email staff were all very helpful.
Donna was very pleasant, polite, and helpful.
The product is just what we wanted, and everything well during our visit to the office in framwellgate Moor.

It was a no fuss straight forward experience. My arranger explained everything in detail. She made me feel at ease and explained each plan in great detail.I was left with no doubt which was the best plan for me and she accepted that. There was no sales pressure whatso ever. So thank you to Leah from Formby .

From start to receiving my pack it was easy to do on line. Was glad that I chose a brand I was familiar with and felt a safe option.

East of England Co-Op, Chapel of Rest at Boss hall Road, Ipswich.
All staff that provided our service, went out of their way to be there for us, listening, talking, allowing us time and space, enabling our wishes and above all caring for our loved one. The funeral was managed with every detail as we wished and additional adjustments to personalise the proceedings. We believe and were told by many that it was a fitting and beautiful farewell to our very special loved one. We felt support from beginning to end and send our sincerest thanks to the staff at this chapel of rest.

We have recently taken out 2 funeral plans and the service was first class and the 2 staff involved could not have been more kind, knowledgeable, sympathetic and professional.

There were a number of plans available to choose from with full explanations of each plan. Once I had decided which was the best plan for me, the whole process of arranging it was excellent and very easy to follow.
The only slight issue that I encountered was not being able to speak to someone on the telephone helpline on a Sunday (more for reassurance then having a problem).

We had previous experience with Co-op Funeralcare when we used them for our Dad’s funeral 3 years ago. Dad had been very organised and took out a plan many years prior to his passing. On the day of his funeral everything went smoothly and to plan and the family were pleased with the service we received. So for us it made sense to use them again to arrange a plan for our Mum.
We met with Kay Varney at our local branch who clearly explained their processes and all our options and made the decision making process very straightforward and less daunting.

Courtney was very helpful, after arranging an appointment over the phone she sent me an email which clearly laid out which documents were needed to facilitate the direct cremations.
She explained everything during our meeting and I found the whole experience to be smooth and stress-free. I would recommend the Co-op to family and friends for funeral arrangements.
Overall it was a positive experience, much better than I expected.
