My telephone call with the staff member was helpful and polite. What I found very frustrating was the amount of information being read out, very quickly, from a script. I feel that I can read all this... See more

Very good professional straight forward service and very competitive price
Easy to use website and understand all aspects of peoduct. Really good price
I like to speak to people, and the staff at the Co-op are so helpful, nothing is to much trouble, and they answered my questions.
Well done, the staff are so patient.
Quick and easy way to sort insurance and peace of mind- even for this elderly lady.
Easy to get a qoute very straight forward all paperwork sent by email in minutes
I took out a policy but wasn't sure if I'd filled in everything correctly so I called them to check. Lovely lady on the end of the phone did find out I'd made 1 error. We corrected this and also added a few nominated persons too. Thought that was really good idea. Policy updated and mind put at ease.

Our buildings insurance renewal didn't go through due to an administrative card error (card was replaced due to fraud and not updated on our account). The following morning, I called them directly to update the card details. I was told I'd need to get a brand new quote.
For backstory, we have been with Co-op since we bought the property (over 10 years ago) and the previous owner was also with Co-op. The previous owners had made a claim (with Co-op, and they also carried out the repairs) for subsidence, this was the reason we stayed with them as they were aware of all the details/repairs. It wasn't anything major, and only required minor repairs.
After completing a quote, we were then told we'd need to get all the information for the subsidence before they could proceed (which blows my mind as they were the ones who carried out the claim) and I'd need to contact my solicitor.
I did so, including providing THEIR OWN CLAIM NUMBER. They were then able to give us a quote - which had increased by over £200. No details had changed, they were aware of the subsidence as it was listed within our renewal & has been on our policy for 10+ years (which is at first how they justified the increase, until they realised they've always been aware of the subsidence).
I have now escalated this as a complaint as not one thing has changed since the renewal, and we haven't claimed in 8 years. A simple admin error, with nothing changing within the policy and how they justify over a £250 increase is absurd (it had already increased by £100 on this years renewal so would be a £350 increase from last year).
I'm now told I will need to wait up to 7 days to hear back from the Customer Relations team. Extremely disappointed with how Co-op have handled a simple administration error for a loyal customer.

After struggling to get any sensible response from the companies advertising as specialists in travel insurance for older people with health issues, I was delighted with the ease of application process on the coop website. I now have the travel insurance I need at a realistic price.
I've only just joined co op pet insurance but seems really good

I’m really disappointed with the service from Co‑op Pet Insurance. My dog, had an out‑of‑hours emergency on 13 May, and I submitted the claim the same day. When you’re dealing with a very sick pet, you’re already stressed, frightened, and emotionally drained — the last thing you expect is to be left completely in the dark by your insurer.
Despite submitting everything immediately, Co‑op didn’t even contact the vet until 26 May. That’s a 13‑day delay before the claim process had even begun. During that time, I was left £1,800 out of pocket, with no updates, no progress, and no indication that anyone was taking ownership of the claim.
What makes this even more frustrating is that the FCA’s rules (ICOBS) are very clear: insurers must handle claims promptly and fairly, and avoid unnecessary delays. Waiting nearly two weeks just to request information from the vet does not feel consistent with those expectations.
When your pet has been seriously ill, you’re already carrying the emotional weight of worry and exhaustion. Having to chase your insurer — repeatedly — just to get them to start doing their part adds a layer of stress that feels completely avoidable. It leaves you feeling unsupported at the exact moment you needed the policy you’ve been paying for to actually work.
I expected better communication, faster action, and a more compassionate approach. This experience has really undermined my trust in Co‑op Pet Insurance.

We've had our dog insured through Co Op his entire life, 5 years at this point. He developed a recurring illness, and within 2 years, our renewal quotes have more than doubled in an attempt to price us out of our claim.
They'll happily take your money, and as soon as you need them, they price you out. What a waste of money.
It's a disgusting practice.

Hardly any waiting time before my call was answered and the renewal process, which included changes, was completed efficiently and easily.
Thank you.
