Maybe worth a try if you have time and patience

I personally know two people who've had a good experience with Cost Plus. If you try them, go into it knowing it will require a lot of your time to get the order right, that it will probably take a minimum of two weeks to get meds (not a huge deal if you know that ahead of time), and that you might end up with the wrong prescription in the end anyway. Have a backup plan. I was sent the wrong meds and had to go elsewhere after weeks of hassle. I did understand going in that it was a gamble that might or might not pay off. I really like the idea of this company, but I'm not sure it's quite ready to handle the demand.

So so happy with them

So so happy with them! My insurance charges $1100. for a 3 month supply of my med, so I have been getting it from Canada. That price is $105.00 with shipping and it takes a month to get it. Cost Plus Drugs cost is $58.00 inc shipping and received the med in a week. Very easy also for my doctor to order it also. Finally a billionaire owner is doing something good for the ordinary person and not for himself. Can't say enough good things about this company!

Headaches signing up; customer service worthless

We signed up using an email address that left out one letter, and now it won't let us start over. Wrote customer service, they got back after a few days and just said "try again" and gave a # to call if problems persisted. They did, and when we called the # there is no option for "trouble signing in," so that was useless. Meanwhile, they asked us for a review, and we explained what happened and that we were very unsatisfied with the "help" they provided. That was days ago and no response.

I signed my parents - not happy so far

I signed my parents up because they do not have Part D. and their retail costs were too expensive, they are on a budget. So far I have yet to receive any meds. I don't know if they need to run through the doctors office for confirmation but it should not take 14 days to deliver. You state 2-3 days for verification but my orders have been sitting 'in progress' for over 4 days. If this happens with the refills I will not continue with Cost Plus. I work in pharmacy and even meds with PAs do not take this long (in Specialty).

Highly recommended

I gave Cost Plus a try after my insurance denied coverage for a prescription I needed and I highly recommend it. Delivery and stock varies per location. The prices are better than big brand pharmacies. Not all medications will be available and Cost plus will give you an opportunity to verify if they carry the medicine before joining. The transparency is outstanding. You won't get questions of why you need the medicine; just get a prescription from your doctor, follow the instructions on Cost Plus website and you will get an email with the total cost. The process is straightforward. I am a customer for life. Thank you Cost Plus

Don't Deliver on Promises

They advertise Rxs are filled within 2-3 days and I paid extra for expedited shipping to receive the shipment in another 2-3 days. The Rx was received and began processing on 01/26/2025. I received notification that it was ready for shipping on 02/02/2025. I just received notification that it should be delivered on 02/07/2025. What was advertised as 4-6 days is taking 14 days. They just need to be honest about things up-front because I no longer trust them and won't order from them again. I also contacted customer service twice and never got a response other than an automated email.

Finally, reasonable prices! Great service!

Finally, a reasonable price!!!!
Every single one of my prescriptions is significantly less than through the retail chains, even with shipping costs. Using insurance with either makes no difference.

-Getting signed up is no big deal, and CP has made it pretty easy for my Dr. to use as well.
- The website lets you manage and order scrips incredibly easily and they remind me in plenty of time.

The only considerations:1) will not work for scrips you need filled immediately - count on 5-10 days, and 2) the bottles they use are really big (seems wasteful to me, but probably keeps prices down to use one size for everything.)

I will never go back to retail for ongoing meds.

$571 vs $17 hmm...

My local pharmacy wanted to charge me $571 (with insurance) for a pretty common generic drug (blood pressure medication) for a 90 day supply. The exact same medication (down to same manufacturer/pills) was $17 WITHOUT INSURANCE from Cost Plus Drugs. Yes, ordering and having it shipped can take some time, but you can order expedited to get it sooner (at additional cost). I had to do this for one med that I was almost out of, and it took about a week to get. non-expedited takes a bit longer.
No, they don't have every med, but when they do have them, the non-insurance prices clearly show just how much regular pharmacies and insurance companies are really ripping us off.

I’m shocked to see the bad reviews…

I’m shocked to see the bad reviews here. And a lot of them seem to be a review that should be pointed at your doctors offices not knowing how to send the prescription in. They have a breakdown of how to get your doctor to send the prescription in. It gives you their pharmacy code. Give that to your doctor. I’ve been using cost plus drugs for me and my family for years now and have always recommended them as I’ve never had an issue filling multiple prescriptions with them over the years. This is best for people with no insurance. But will a lot of times be cheaper than even with insurance. The prices are sooo cheap. Stop leaving this company bad reviews simply because you’re ancient and don’t know how to use the system. If you’re 80 years old, stop switching to online pharmacies you can’t use and then complaining online about it.

Mind-boggling attempt to fill my prescription

My provider sent a prescription for a 30 day supply of my medication with 2 refills. I contacted support to ask they update the quantity to avoid me placing multiple orders. No response at all. So I worked with my provider to resend the prescription for enough tablets in one fill. A week later the pharmacy hasn’t updated the prescription. I sent a message to check the order status and received an auto-reply in part that “ We are sorry we can't respond personally to every email, but this is the only way we can be the low cost provider of drugs.”

Not a great experience

I was referred to this company through my insurance (UMR). For the past two years, I’ve been using Humira through Walmart Specialty, and the experience was excellent. They consistently called to remind me when it was time to refill my medication, and it was always delivered to my home.

However, I suddenly stopped receiving those calls, and my medication was not delivered. Later, I received a call explaining that I could no longer use Walmart Specialty because my insurance no longer covered Humira. Initially, I accepted this change because I had no choice.

Months passed with no communication, so I reached out to my insurance company around July or August. They told me they were waiting on approval for the new medication. As a result, I have been without my medication since that time. To avoid a flare-up, I had to borrow a Humira shot from my sister.

Today, I contacted my insurance company again, and they reached out to Cost Plus Drugs on my behalf. Unfortunately, the representative I spoke with was rude, unhelpful, and showed no compassion. Since I wasn’t an existing customer, I was instructed to sign up online, even though I was told they should already have my prescription. The representative also refused to assist me over the phone.

After signing up online and having my doctor send over the prescription, I found out that my co-pay is now $200, compared to the $0–$5 I previously paid. I understand this may be related to my insurance, but this situation is unacceptable. I cannot afford $200 per refill and am currently out of my medication. To make matters worse, Cost Plus Drugs does not accept any discount cards or coupons.

I am extremely dissatisfied with this change and the way this process has been handled. I’m unsure how I’ll get my medication moving forward, and I’m deeply concerned about my health.

Website Is Terrible, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

I had my doctor send over my prescription and it took a week for them to even process it. I finally received an email saying "check out now, we have your prescription" and I go onto the website and it's saying I have no prescriptions. I tried reaching out to the company, and nobody will respond to my email. Now I have to bother my doctor again to send my prescription elsewhere where I'll now have to pay $300 for it instead of the $15 it had listed on the site.

This is a black eye for Cuban

This is a black eye for Cuban. The Shark! This company started off great and I was excited and used them and had great service and speedy results then it HIT A BRICK WALL. They don't respond, they don't get the prescriptions , we send the prescription in mutliple times in 7 days. I used to get an email in 24 hours now not only don't i get an email, they don't have the prescription no matter what. The number is right and we have confirmation it is not worth the savings if you value your time as i spent hours trying to get my critical medicine, i ended up going local and had it immediately. What is your time worth?
