FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE START TO FINISH
FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE START TO FINISH, and Saved Big Dollars. The process is very easy and the cost for my prescription without insurance was extremely low! This is a game changer. They make this easy. If they carry the medicine you need, DO THIS! THANK YOU Mark for creating this !
2 stars for frequent refills; 0 stars for infrequent
I admire the ambition of Mark Cuban to provide people the opportunity to purchase needed prescriptions at a greatly reduced price. If you have prescriptions that are filled on a regular basis, CostPlusDrugs.com is the way to go.
BUT...
If you have a one-time prescription, go elsewhere. This was my case, but I wanted to give CostPlusDrugs a try.
I no longer need any regular prescriptions (thank you Keto/Carnivore lifestyle). I recently had two prescriptions that needed to be filled once or twice. Below is the timeline of events:
April 4 (Thursday) - Doctor's appointment. Prescriptions sent electronically to CostPlusDrugs. I checked my account later that day and saw the prescriptions were on file. I pay along with expedited shipping (3-5 days), an extra $15.
In the following days, no contact, no emails, nothing.
April 8 (Monday) - Order is still listed as "being filled".April 9 - I send a message to cancel the order. I received a confirmation of my submission.April 10 - I send another message to cancel. I received an email that a cancellation had been submitted without a guarantee. If cancelled, I would be fully refunded.
April 11 - I send a third request to cancel. Around noon, I receive an email that the order has already been shipped. I was provided a tracking number, but I do not know if it is USPS, USP, FedEx, or DHL. I attempted to determine, but no tracking information was available.
April 12 - Received email with tracking number (with delivery by USPS).
April 15 - Received medicine.
It took 11 days since the order date to receive the prescriptions with expedited shipping.
Email replies are slow.Cancellation is only feasible through their "contact us" link.

I ran out of an important medication
I ran out of an important medication. Because the shipping got delayed by the United States Postal Service. I told them I was out for a couple of days. They said they sent an emergency request in over 24 hours later. The request is still under review. And it's coming to the weekend if you need this medication. For protecting your life, I would by at some place sounds, I would not deal with mark Cuban pharmacy if you can wait for the medication that it's not life threatening. They may be okay to use, but it's not worth the aggravation
Ran out of medication waiting for delivery
Positives: I did not have trouble talking to a human being, so long as I called in their customer service hours (Mon-Fri 6am-6pm Pacific). I called at 6:05am and spoke to someone without waiting on hold. My medication is significantly cheaper through Cost Plus, but it doesn't count toward my insurance deductible, so I'm not sure if the math works in my favor or not.
Negatives: As many others have said, prescriptions aren't reliably delivered. Which is a big problem when you are dependent on your medication daily.
All their timeframe commitments are based on business days. Apparently, they don't work on weekends. So plan on losing a couple of days right there.
They don't process within 24 hours. Processing will take at least a couple of days, and possibly longer.
They don't offer overnight shipping. Their "expedited" shipping costs extra. It runs through USPS, and takes 3-5 business days.
So an "expedited" order takes at least one calendar week, and possibly 1.5 weeks.
In my case, my "expedited" order was lost in the mail. So I ran out of my medication. They said their policy is that a medication must be lost by USPS for at least 5 business days before they will consider reprocessing. Presumably, reprocessing will take at least another week, and possibly longer.
I have no idea when my medication will actually arrive, so now I have to get ahold of my doctor, put in a prescription to my local pharmacy, and pick it up today.
It's hard to recommend Cost Plus, even with the cheaper price.
Don’t be afraid of the negative reviews, great program…
I am a community retail pharmacist using this pharmacy. I am on a chemo medication and I am saving $2000 a year. I am not understanding the negative reviews. The online ordering is very easy. I have received my medications within a week and you can track it online. Most people do not understand retail pharmacy and what drives costs of medications. Mr. Cuban and his staff are able to offer these prices due to keeping their staffing to a minimum, therefore telephone availability may not be available. I emailed them a problem with my credit card not processing and they immediately responded. To the complaints of drug out of stocks, there has been nationwide shortages of medications. Chances are you could not find that medication at your community pharmacy as well. You are able to refill your prescription after using 50% of your supply, which is very generous, insurances do not allow that. Therefore there is no reason to be out of your medications. This program is helping people to afford their medications at a very low cost. Rest assured Mr. Cuban is not making money on his commitment to help people, this is an awesome program!
Very hard to get refills
Very hard to get refills. Great prices but not worth my time. Should have a number to call in like other pharmacies. NO OPTION for AUTO FILL. Wasted 40 minutes and still no refill can be ordered. Had to change pw each time I go to their website. Terrible experience. NO Option to talk with a rep...
Don't expect your money back.
I ordered a medication on a Friday morning and paid an extra $15 for expedited shipping expecting the medicine to ship that day and hopefully arrive on Monday. I had expedited the shipping on this because I was taking this medication on a trip to Nepal and was leaving the country later that week. When the medication didn't arrive on Monday I called Cost Plus and first asked them to overnight my order so it would arrive on Tuesday. I was told that it was not possible to overnight ship my order. At that point I asked them to cancel my order because it would not arrive in time to help me and said I would get it somewhere in town. They said they would cancel the order and refund my money. Later on Monday I was able to obtain the medicine at my local pharmacy, which incidentally cost $60 instead of $221 from Cost Plus. I received an email from Cost Plus contradicting what I had heard from the customer service agent on the phone about my refund saying that although the medication had not shipped, they were too late in the process to refund my money. I called the Cost Plus and again told them that I had obtained the medicine elsewhere and no longer needed it from them and again requested a refund instead. Rather than refund my money at my request at that time, Cost Plus then overnighted the prescription (which they had told me was not possible), even though I had repeatedly told them I no longer needed it before they had shipped my order. I believe they shipped my order despite our conversations simply to get them themselves off the hook for refunding my money. After 4 hours on customer service trying to get a hold of a supervisor, she informed me that they were too late in the process to give me a refund and that it was already on its way. She still refused to refund my $221 because they said I could not return the medication.. even though it was still in its original packaging from them and unopened. The tone of the entire conversation was rude and unhelpful. I ended up hanging up because we were talking in circles and I was wasting my time. I have since refused delivery on the medication from Cost Plus and filed a dispute with my credit card to get my money back, but I'm not holding out too much hope.
In general, this is supposed to be a public service company. I am an elementary school teacher that lives on a paycheck to paycheck budget. It would have been very easy for them to make this right and refund my money and they probably would have kept me as a customer. There's a right way and a wrong way to treat people and customers, and this was the wrong way. My interaction with the supervisor was rude and unhelpful. Cost Plus did everything in their power to not refund my money. I sure hope Mark Cuban needs the $221 more than I do, because I just lost a week's grocery budget and a whole bunch of my time for nothing. Do better.
Buyer Beware
Buyer Beware!
A great concept but a failed delivery, in every sense of the word. I paid an extra $15 to have an expedited prescription delivery. They received the order almost a week ago and they have not filled the order yet. Still says “shipping soon”.
It wouldn’t be as big a deal if it weren’t that they are responsible for getting sometimes life saving medications to people. The last time this happened to me I wound up in the hospital after 5 days of no meds. Took my last pills this morning and can only hope that they ship it out today. I’m done with Cost Plus Drugs. Never again.
P.S. I don’t leave 1 star reviews but in this case, I think it’s important for potential customers to understand what they are dealing with.
No communication when a problem.…
I hate to drop these stars bc I applaud what Cuban is trying to do. Have had good experiences until now. But this time something didn’t gel between my dr and the system and biggest issue is that there isn’t a customer service lifeline that is set up to be effective between patient and company. No one to speak with,& no one seems to have an understanding of how the right hand should work with the left. PLEASE correct this bc we really need this service badly. Thank you Mr. Cuban, but help.
FORGET THIS PLACE
FORGET THIS PLACE! GET YOUR SCRIPTS FILLED ELSEWHERE
This website NEVER since day one of signing up online last year, has EVER had the particular prescriptions I need which have been on the market for years now. Metoprolol, Atorvastatin and Atovaquone your website claims you carry, but when a script is submitted from a physician, you don't carry it? What a lame A$$ excuse for prescription savings. Closing my account. What a disgrace and complete waste of MY time!

Mark Cuban
Absolutely horrible
Absolutely horrible. The reason they might be cheaper is because there is absolutely NO POSSIBLE WAY TO TALK TO A LIVE PERSON. I tried for three weeks to contact them using their online form. I begged for them to reply. Their website wasn't working for me to place my needed order that I couldn't go a day without. After receiving a survey about my experience and filling it out about their awful service they finally sent me an email and said it was fixed and that I could now order. I replied that it was too late because I needed my prescription by the next day and asked them to ship it out overnight. I never got a response. Absolutely horrible experience with them.
Just horrible. And not any cheaper.
Wow. Where to begin. To order meds online from Mark Cuban Cost Plus, everyone is given a ‘Prescription Manager’ page. When it came time for me to do a refill (45 days after previous refill on a 90 day prescription), I went to my Prescription Manager page and it informed me that my prescriptions were being refilled and I could not go to the next step and place on order. Ok, seemed strange as I didn’t place an order, but ok. This being a no-frills pharmacy that doesn’t even list their phone number anywhere I assumed my meds would show up. Fast forward 40 days and my meds are running out, I went online and my prescription manager still shows that it’s being filled. At this point I’m nervous about not getting my meds in time. (My meds allow me to urinate.) I found a phone number, called and was told something to the effect that my prescription manager page was corrupt which is why I couldn’t place an order. The person on the call did something, told me to refresh the page at which point I was able to place the order. I immediately placed the order and requested expedited shipping, which was extra. This pharmacy claims it takes three days to fill the order and then the order is shipped out, so I figure 5-6 days and I should receive it. After six days, the order still had not shipped out. So I called and talked to someone else who assured my it was indeed being filled and should ship out soon. I said I wanted to cancel the order since it hadn’t been filled yet, and the person said it was too late. No wanting to miss out on the chance to urinate, I went and got the prescription filled at CVS and got my meds in an hour. I finally received my meds from Mark Cuban Cost Plus after a couple of weeks. When they came in, one bottle had spilled out, capsules opened up and the meds were contaminated. At this point I call back and request a refund. They told me I could not get a refund, and transferred me to someone at their pharmacy, who then tell me to return the meds in the same envelope to the same address listed on the bottle for a refund. So I did that. In the meantime, this is all sounding fishy to me, so I dispute the charge on my credit card. After several weeks, the credit card company denies the dispute and returns the charge to my card. Incensed, I call the credit card company who informs me their investigation may need more information. I called Mark Cuban Cost Plus to ask for a refund again. Again I was informed I could not get a refund and that all they could do is send out replacement meds. I demanded to speak to a supervisor, was put on hold, then told that the supervisor had authorized a refund. I was asked if I still wanted to speak to a supervisor, I said yes. When the supervisor came on, I was told that I could not get a refund because I had disputed the charge on my credit card, that the issue was now with the bank. I will NEVER, EVER use this pharmacy EVER again. By the way, I originally used Mark Cuban Cost Plus because of the price. When I used CVS, the price with insurance was only $1.10 per month. So there really is no benefit to using Mark Cuban Cost Plus anymore, as it is cheaper through CVS.
I'm paying ~20% what I used to. Highly recommended!
My experience has been pretty good, good enough that it makes me suspicious of all the super negative reviews I've seen.
In short, my bill for medicine has gone from ~$140 a month, down to about $25 a month, in total, including shipping to my door.
I find the website super easy to use, and refills take like a minute to put in. The one time I did have an issue (the medicine didn't allow me to refill), my doctor's office called them and was able to resolve things in about 15 minutes. The only other complaint I have is that the time between placing an order, and when it actually ships is like 1 week-- Though, once you get into a rhythm of reordering (ahead of needing it) it should be fine-- also, i will say, the time to ship has felt like its improved (maybe from 7-9 days to more like 4-6 days). I might dock it a star for this (down to 4/5), but the cost savings is just so extreme, its hard to dock the service anything.
Value: 5/5
Service: 3/5
Overall, Highly recommended. Though, may want to have your doctor prescribe a few extra pills in case shipping goofs.
Cheap but Slow
To echo what others have said… Great prices, as in 90% cheaper than local pharmacies for one particular medication of mine. They used to ship from Brooklyn, and the turnaround was very fast. Things have changed. Here’s a recent example:
12/6: doctor sent in a refill
12/7: cost plus emails me - the drug is out of stock!
12/11: cost plus emails me - order shipping soon!
12/18: medicine received
If you have critical prescriptions that keep you alive, I suggest ordering well in advance or filling them somewhere else until cost plus figures this out.
I am a super senior who has been trying…
I am a super senior who has been trying for three days to sign up. I am pretty savvy on the computer, however, this site won't let me on. I even had someone who is already signed up and we couldn't. I was told my telephone number was invalid. Tried using a different email, didn't like that.
Carole Robinson
Unreliable
Unreliable, very inconsistent processing and shipping, no customer service, not for any drug you need unless you can order a month in advance
Don't Do It
While their prices are better, they don't ship the refills on time (ordered August 23, just got word it is arriving next week on September 19). Meanwhile, there is no support team available, no calls accepted, and you can't cancel. I had my doctor re-route my prescription to my local pharmacy, but I couldn't cancel the CostPlus order. Way too much drama to outweigh any savings. Switching back to local.
No customer service
I cannot refill my prescription. The website says there are refills available, but I can't order them. There is a mistake on the account on the prescription details that changed since my last refill. I have emailed several times as directed and called the phone number provided over the course of a month. No one responds or answers the phone.
Still Waiting!!!!
Prescription sent over a week ago and they are still filling?! On hold with customer service for over an hour and still nothing. This company is horrible and will never use them again.
