Bad experience. Bad support who uses automated replies and copy paste and do not get stuff done. Even simple things such as signing up has so many bugs which they fail to acknowledge and solved.
If i could give 0 stars i would, its that bad. Its as if management is run by 5 year olds, support team by robots and HR by 70 year olds.
Take my advice and do not deal with them or interact with them.

Garbage.

It may seem like easy money and a great work-from-home opportunity, it's not. Been doing project for Appen for a while now and since its revamp of Crowdgen it's been awful. They pay once a month after the project task it reviewed and approved. well that how it used to be. I completed 3 project (Once Crowdgen was up and running) and NO I HAVE NOT BEEN PAID AFTER THOUSANDS OF EMAILS TO SUPPORT and not only that they also took retaliation against me and decided NOT to pay $300 of work.
The reason you may ask? , Well theysent me a generic email with 20 reasons why your work might have not been approved, just before the last day the invoice was supposed to be submitted. So yeah stay away.....

My ID has not been verified for over 2 months since I submitted it to be verified. No replies from support. I have passed the quizzes of over 9 project which take a whole lot of time to prepare for and can't do any because my ID is not verified yet

Disgusting company. After waiting for months to start a project, I was assigned for the reels watching one. After 6 HOURS OF WORK. They decided to ban me. How convenient. They don;t give you a reason either. AVOID WASTING TIME WITH THEM

I have missed a whole month of work because the support team does not answer emails. I can't access the tool to do the work and they are not helping me. I also applied for new projects two months ago and they are still "verifying" my government ID. Why do they need this if I have been working for them for 5 years already??

Appen used to be a wonderful company to work with - I worked since 2013. It started getting bad in 2020 when suddenly everyone wanted to work from home, then they built a 'new' website Appen Connect that never really worked, and now they created a complete disaster with CrowdGen. That website is useless. Projects I had for several months disappear from My Active Projects and My Work Hours, even I am currently working in them. My Work Hours are not updated at all, which means I cannot approve or dispute hours worked for payment this month. The support is non existent, tickets don't get answered, there are no project managers anywhere to be seen. We used to have Chat for each project in the original Appen website and there was support available. Now I have one project in Slack and no support. I recommended Appen to a lot of people over the years, but not anymore. And on Top, they claim to pay their contributers more than they need to globally, which is a complete lie. Their pay actually went down. Projects had a pay rate of $10 per hour, and now it is down to $9.45. It is sad to see the decline of such a company.

Nothing ever worked on the site to be able to be verified . you must be verified to do the work. A big waste of time

Always got those project invitation emails, applied for few of them, never ever replied or confirmed a place.

Until recently applied 1 language project, provided my ID and it seems vanished, no one come back to me if I am selected with the role, raised a ticket to support, only system generated email ... chased, no one there. Did they steal you personal information fake website.

Crowdgen does not care about our feelings, they take our government documents for verifications yet fail to verify us. They have such poor standards for the users

I didn't receive the payout from portal before + paid more fees than earn.
You can spend hours to understanding fully the project and documentation, it took 1–5 hours, but then it's not possible to finish the process as ID validation doesn't work (both on pc and mobile) and user is completely blocked. Even if he is lucky, there are no tasks at all after spend hours on quizzes. The support says - sorry, it's an only quiz and it not guarantee work. The payout is very low, the page works very slow with lot of issues. Not worth the time.

The new Crowdgen platform is full of bugs and errors, and it takes a long time to load. I completed the pre-qualification, but I got stuck at the ID verification step, as it isn't working and keeps loading. I have submitted multiple tickets, but it seems there is no support available.

No support, it doesn't work, very slow navigation..very unreliable.!!!!!!!

I have been waiting for payment for work I completed in August 2024. I keep getting a variety of emails all thanking me for my patience. But I still have yet to see any actual money. My work hours finally uploaded yesterday, and I approved them for payment but surprise, surprise... today my work hours are suddenly gone and I have not been paid.

Earnings unpaid. Barely functioning platform and complete absence of support. Some people rely heavily on the earnings from Appen's projects, still, many of us haven't been paid September's earnings.

The management team will never communicate with you. Most projects have no way to talk to anyone on the project. You will feel completely isolated and alone with no communication. You will not understand the policies or procedures. You will put in for a project and never hear back. You will get accepted on the project 6 months later and then have it shut down 3 weeks later without an explanation.
Support is useless, unhelpful, and rude. The Support team does not read your emails. Any email you send them will be closed without response or you will get some comment that has nothing to do with your question.

While this is a legit company and not a scam, I would never recommend anyone works here because they just hate their workers and do not care about them at all.

No support. Trying to reach out to support via website and the form has errors. The website has a bunch of it. I am unable to continue due to tye error for payment. Complete waste of time.

I have been signed up with Appen for two years. I was never selected for any jobs. Now that they have started CrowdGen I was pretty excited to have new opportunites to do some work for additional money. I am unable to set up my "payments" because their pop up says my number is associated with another account. Without being able to set up my payments, I cannot move forward with completing projects. I have submitted help desk tickets twice (one in late September and again yesterday) with no response. Frustrated. I just want an opportunity to make a little extra money.
